There's something about this CD... I think it could be partly due to the synth voice they use in parts of the songs, but there's this underlying sound and feel that I absolutely love. What synth vocals are you referring to? The one's in AFM? It sounds like a choir. They used it in Whisper during the solo and the outro; during the "yeah, yeah" outro of WWYG and again when it plays at the end of Anywhere; it might be used in the middle eight and final chorus of AFM but I can't quite tell... I know it's a synth because the electric piano I wanted to buy (but couldn't because $6000 is a lot of money) had it or at least something incredibly similar.

I think the ones in the outro of Whisper are layered with Amy's vocals, probably to make it sound like a choir with strings. The one's in the solo are supposed to sound like strings (so I think they're a different setting as they have a slightly different tone/sound). I can't hear the synth vocals on the WWYG "yeah yeah yeah" but I can hear them in Anywhere though. Now that I know (what I'm without) what you're referring to, I can say that I do not think they are in AFM.
It's quite interesting really. I wish I had one of those keyboards, but I'm satisfied with mine because I LOVE it like Kel loves orange soda.

They are definitely layered with her voice in the outro of Whisper, probably to make it sound more like an actual choir and less like a vox synth, but I really love the sound.

My brother just bought me Origin off of Ebay for my Birthday. It was around $100 and ordered from New York. The CD was not sealed and had a nice crack in the front of the CD case (maybe age? Poor shipping?) Anyway, I was well aware of the fakes long before he got it. I tried to warn him but who knows if he was aware of such or not. To be honest with you, I was almost positive it was a reproduction or a fake, knowing how low my chances were of getting an original. Now, I am not so sure. The CD case seems fake in ways, there are a few minor typos here and there, which I have heard proves a CD to be fake. Yet, the CD itself seems authentic? The music is crystal clear quality, and when I pop the CD into my computer it comes up with the CD title as Origin. It also displays the album art, genre, and year of production. It contains all original 11 songs and all of the extras and starts from 35 seconds. It even contains the CRT BWE0002 XOA21C IFPI number on the back of the CD in the middle.
As I have mentioned, even though the CD cover seems fake.. there is no brownish hue or anything unusually awkward. I believe someone even posted a picture of the inside of the CD case and it looked identical to mine, and there's was real. So yea, I'm pretty confused.lol I wanted to know what some of you all think, and would it be helpful to post pics?

Especially your CD (Art and Mirror side).

Where is the official source? It seems they got it from this link: LINKAlong with the picture posted this is what the article says below. Also, can we maybe merge this topic with the Origin LP Discussion Thread (Page 2 on 'Other Works') so we have all the info on one topic rather than two?

Where is the official source? The "working version" of Origin cover was published in an old review written by Todd Brown on truetunes.com ( LINK). When I saw it, I nearly had a heart attack XD… True Tunes Music had already released “We The Living, Vol. 3”, featuring an inedited version of "Whisper". This review was probably released in sep/oct 2000 because it is listed in a weybackmachine capture of 17 oct 2000 ( LINK). One month before Origin was released… This old cover was a great help in finding the "angel statue" which serves as grave stone at the Highgate Cemetery, London... I don't know if there are similar statues in USA... Either way it seems that the picture on the cover wasn't taken by Evanescence or whoever... It appears also in other albums and beyond... The other albums with the same picture are: 1) In The Shadows of Angels (bootleg by The Sister of Mercy - 1992) 2) Stalker (EP by The indipendennts - 1996) 3) Cassandra (album by Zar - 1997) 4) Wide Receiver (bootleg by The Sister of Mercy - 1997) 5) Colbat Witch (album by Go Go Guillotine - 1997)

Origin is a 2500 demo release, I have been told. How can it be called "Demo and release" if there is no original demo before the release? This question, is one that I don't understand how nobody agrees on the point of earlier copies. If it were released by Bigwig then how can it be a demo? Its possible nobody has those copies but the ones I speak of resemble demo's exactly and have a verified code. Numerous official articles say self-released and give earlier release dates.................

Numerous official articles say self-released and give earlier release dates................. The reason that Origin can be called either a demo or a more major release or both is because even though it was released under a label and looked really nice and everything, the release was limited and Amy calls it a "dressed-up demo" since it was made to get the attention of a bigger and better label. If there was a demo before the release of Origin, the songs would have been recorded in an earlier session and then fixed up for the release, but that's not the case here. I'm sorry but the articles you read were either misled or you misinterpreted them. In our threads we have information related to the people who were directly involved in making/distributing Origin - trust people actually involved in the process, not the speculators.

What would be described as songs recorded in a earlier session? Totally different? A lot of the songs on Origin are the only version I'm aware of, so as I said the track listing is the same but songs tracks are shorter, how could they be shorter? If they were shorter the song would be chopped but that is not the case here, they seem more condensed. Also, I have heard 5 seconds of silence after a song would be considered a hidden track, (Where will you go {Reprise}).

There's a 1999 version of Whisper. There's a 2000 version of Whisper. There's a 1999 version of Lies and Where Will You Go. Also, there is no silence in Where Will You Go (Origin version) before the Yeah yeah yeah part....

The disc I'm referring to with the Where Will You Go (Reprise) stops at 5:18 then complete silence until 5:23. The other version I have doesn't contain the reprise at all. Does the version your speaking of have no silence at all or just some type of sound still there in those 5 seconds?

I'll record the ending part of it for you, on video, so you'll know we're not bullshitting you. There is also a .flac file on EvRef of an authentic Origin. You may want to give that a download. Why won't you post pictures or scans of your Origin? Why do you keep avoidingredients my question about this? This is probably the 5th or 6th time I'm asking you to upload pics of your Origin.
