Am I the only one who didn't really enjoy the lillywhite songs? YES. Lol just kidding. I can totally see how some people wouldn't enjoy it though. Just like how a number of fans didn't like TOD and preferred Fallen. Some people just aren't into the weird electronic stuff. While I'd personally love to see Ev return to that sound, it wouldn't be so bad if Ev stayed a more hard rock-oriented band, as long as Amy releases the weird stuff on solo albums. A sure way to please everyone! Hahaha The Open Door is my favorite album by EV and that's because piano was more prominent in it. I just wasn't liking the whole full on electronic thing that they were showing us. Elements of it is fine of course since they've always had some electronic elements in their music, but I don't think I'd like a full on electronic oriented album like that was sounding out to be

Titanic: Amy has also mentioned that she would love to release a B-Sides/Rarities album. Why Evanescence hasn't yet, is beyond me. Wind-Up probably hasn't even heard of the idea yet and if they have, they'll probably give the OK when they feel it'll make more sales; like possibly during a break when the band are taking time off or when Evanescence decides to call it quits for a while (like Disturbed). Or maybe it's in the contract that they cannot make a b-sides/rarities album until a certain amount of albums have been sold to have enough b-sides/rarities. I don't think unfinished songs or pre-signed material counts though. BUT I'm not sure on this so please don't quote me on this. I can see a B-sides album during a break. Between TOD and Ev3 they may not have had enough material for one, but with the Lillywhite songs they certainly do, but legal matters probably forbid those songs from being used as B-sides since he was contracted to make an actual album with her? I don't know how it works, but it's good news that Amy WANTS us to hear them AND would like to release a B-sides alum. It's a relief because Xtina who I love alongside Amy just won't seem to comment on that and it's frustrating. I don't want pre-signed material or B-sides from their early career, just those from TOD onward which seems more likely anyway. Their early material seems uncertain and it's clear she was discovering her sound then. Amy found it with TOD IMO. I just wasn't liking the whole full on electronic thing that they were showing us. Elements of it is fine of course since they've always had some electronic elements in their music, but I don't think I'd like a full on electronic oriented album like that was sounding out to be When I first heard TOD I wasn't sure I liked it, but ironically I've felt that way about ALL the albums that I've liked for more than 5 years now. I feel like if it's good creative music your first listen to it will be a strange experience because the music is different. TOD was their best, most balanced album IMO. It had electronic elements too, and the prominent piano made it my favorite as well. Together Again is my favorite form TOD era because of the piano, strings, her soft vocals and the weeping spirit choir in the background. That's a classic Evanescence sound I admire, similar to how she was best suited for the Sally's Song remake. TOD had some amazing Rock songs too like All That I'm Living For which I loved. But Ev3 was this huge homogenous solid concretion of loud, abrasive and strained Rock material that wasn't even done well in the vein of previous Evanescence Rock material. The background music NEVER overpowered Amy's voice and she never struggled before to be heard. Ev3 shines well in places like Never Go Back but for the most part it's more of a "other members of the band" album than it is an Evanescence album because this time they practically cast AMY out. Which is a strange thought considering she had planned a solo-esque album with Lillywhite prior to that. Honestly, I don't mind either scenario. But here's the deal: If she and WU/future label decide to keep Evanescence going, I prefer balanced Rock/creative/ballad albums like TOD that showcase different aspects of their sound. But if we can expect Ev3 pure hard rock albums from here on out, I'd prefer solo material from Amy. Because Ev3 really surprised me. On Erase This there's just this brief moment where we can hear the "ghost choir" as I call it before both it and Amy are drowned out. That's definitely not the ocean theme she nor I had in mind I'm sure. I've always preferred the piano/strings material to anything.

The one thing I'll say I liked about Fallen besides Amy's locals were some of the lyrics. Not all of them, but in places like BMTL and My Last Breath the lyrics were amazing. Overall, I found Fallen to be too coarse and tortured thematically and the sound for many of the songs was just too dark, and not in the same way that TOD was dark. TOD had this beautiful dark mystery about it. Where TOD is melancholic Fallen is angry and self-abusive. I just couldn't stand Amy singing about suicide and the songs sounded as hopeless as anyone could be, and again genuine hopelessness. When TOD is hopeless it's in a way where she wants to believe she's hopeless but knows in her heart of hearts she's not. Fallen-era uses too many religious terms too that question God, religion etc such as Farther Away or "speaking to the atmosphere, no one's here" and I just don't like this theme. I love dark, sad elegant baroque gothic music from Amy like Together Again, Lithium or Lacrymosa, and for Rock I loved Weight of the World, Sweet Sacrifice and All That I'm Living For etc.
But to me Ben was a horrible influence on her music. He plays the guitar well but honestly the only loss form Evanescence I felt was LeCompt because he co-wrote All That I'm Living For and the instruments on that track are amazing. I'm just not too fond of their earlier works and how defeated miserable and weak they make Amy out to sound.
I'm all about Danny Elfman-like inspired music from her, which she's delivered beautifully many times on TOD and in some places on Ev 3 (Secret Door, Swimming Home, etc), and in the Lillywhite sessions too. And the Rock like NWTB and NGB, Oceans etc. That's the Amy/Evanescence I want to hear whether it's an Ev project or just an Amy project. I do NOT want another Ev3 mess of hard rock rock rock and screaming. Her voice is not suited or appreciated for that.
I don't mind the 15th song being released on a B-sides album but I'm not interested in it.

Hm, I'm not sure I believe there's really a missing 15th song. It seemed to me like he was just estimating the number of songs because he probably didn't remember the exact amount off the top of his head.

There's still that song called Katherine or something like that from the pre-Fallen era, i think, that they played once live but noone here heard it. Amy should remake that one.

I don't think Amy would remake Catherine since that is an Origin song that she + Ben wrote together. Amy seems averse to re-writing any of the old songs. There are a few candidates for the 15th song of Fallen: Forever You, Faixa Five, or them counting MI twice (Mystary + Band). We are basing this off of David's comment about 15 songs; just like we are basing TOD having 18 songs on Renee's comment or even Evanescence entering the studio with 19 songs for the EV LP from that interview. So there are a lot of possibilities and we can really only assume things unless Wind-Up themselves tells us something we don't know (and LOL that's not going to happen).

As selfish as it may sound, my love for Evanescence is too big, so I prefer an Evanescence album with Amy Lee (haha). I don't know if an Amy solo album would be of my taste, because I know she'll do something completely different, and probably different from the Lillywhite sessions. But it's her decision and I'll support her. If she releases an album I'll buy it.

I really hope Amy will go solo. I just felt like their last album was a typical rock album. Though there are many songs on it that I love, it didn't quite hit me like Fallen or TOD. I can't listen to most of the songs on it like I do the songs from their older albums- I get bored with most of them very quickly. The songs that I love on the album were mostly the ones written mostly by Amy and from the old sessions.
Amy Lee is more than just basic rock. She's a composer and creative. I want the orchestra, choir, and experimentation back! And I just don't think we'll be getting that with another Evanescence album. I'm all for Amy going solo. That way there isn't a certain sound everyone expects, and we can hear something new.

what are all the songs never released? I'll go by era for you. 1995-2002 songs that were never officially released and songs we do not know about Catherine Faixa Five The 15th song they wrote for Fallen. If You Don't Mind (Studio) The other two from the TOD era (according to Renee who said there were 18 songs) TOD Demos or other song that we do not know about from that era. 2009-2010 Lillywhite sessions/other songs like Your Love, Hi-Lo, You've Got A Lot To Learn, and ones we do not know about The three songs that they went into the studio with that were not recorded Any other Ev3 Era songs that we do not know about On topic: I would personally like an Ev B-Sides/Rarities album, the Lillywhite songs, and a solo album.
