Sorry if posted.
What would you prefer?
I actually wouldn't mind Amy releasing a solo album or doing a solo project. I don't want her to completely abandon Evanescence, but sometimes when I hear Together Again, Swimming Home and Secret Door I long for a soft, haunting album from her and realize she's be great with just strings, piano and harp and not the loud guitars all the time. Ev3 was just TOO Rock for her IMO. I love when she does beautiful haunting songs.

I really want her to do a solo album next. I think she pleased the people who are more fans of Ev's rock side with this last album, so now I hope she'll put out something for us fans of the more experimental stuff. It'd be the perfect time to put out a solo album, during Ev's downtime. Since we know touring wears her out, this is something she wouldn't even have to tour for. Maybe just do a couple shows in big cities or a recorded special if anything.
While I was going through my favorite Ev songs from the albums and overall, I realized so many of them are the softer or experimental or just non-rock songs. I honestly think the Amy solo sounding songs like "Sally's Song" and "Together Again" are some of the best work she's ever done. And I'd love to hear more stuff like "Halfway Down The Stairs". And what we heard of the Lillywhite sessions sounded like some of the best music they've ever made. I really hope she puts out an album of those unused songs along with some more softer and experimental and electronic music. After that, she can take a break for a while and then get things started with Ev again. I really hope she does this!

According to that Scuzz interview, she has a ton of non-Ev songs. She should totally make a little EP of just that.

I thought I would want her to go solo, but from the twit vids we got during the Lillywhite sessions I just don't think I'd enjoy it, even though The Open Door is experimental and my favorite album
Swimming Home is one of my least favorite off the new album and Together Again isn't really that great in my opinion, even though I still listen to and enjoy it

I wouldn't mind either or. I just WISH that those assholes over at Wind Up Records gave Amy Lee/Evanescence COMPLETE artistic freedom. I feel like they have too much say in what goes on in the music sometimes, and even though Amy never really puts out anything that she's not satisfied with, I think she's better off with another less intrusive label. In other words, new Evanescence album or Amy Lee solo album, it doesn't matter to me, as long as it is HER creation.

Solo.
I'm hoping she'll shy away from the more electronic/synthesized route of Swimming Home or Together Again, though. SH is one of my favorites, but that is because of the lyrics and melodies, I never much cared for the music underneath. I'm always up for trying new things and experimenting, but this style and Amy's voice aren't the best mix for me. Where I think she is at her best is in acoustic performances, so a largely piano-based solo album is what I want to hear next. I'm getting really bored of Ev's overly simplistic piano parts, this girl has been playing piano for decades, I want her solo album to show what she can really do. In a way, that is really the only way her solo album could succeed. She needs to demonstrate her real talents to the fullest as a singer, a pianist, a harpist, and a composer. An electro-pop album just won't cut it. In the large scheme of things, a lot of people doubt Amy and the band... Some people say she is holding the band back, some people say she is the only good thing about the band and they are holding her back... I want her solo album to piss all of those f*ckers off for being so damn good, hehehe....

After that, she can take a break for a while and then get things started with Ev again. I really hope she does this! I love some of her Rock songs too, but I just feel we haven't seen enough of the softer more haunting numbers that feature more of her voice and less of the guitars and rock sound. I prefer "Secret Door" and "Together Again" to any of their harder rock songs honestly. They're soft, mysterious, and the strings and piano make them so simple and elegant. I feel The Open Door had a great ratio of great Rock songs to jam out to and the softer, quieter songs that were more experimental and more about her vocals and about the atmosphere the strings and piano added to the song. I like that. But Ev3 was very Rock oriented so I agree I'd like to see a solo effort from her. More of her creativity and her voice. The prime complaint of Ev3 was her needing to yell louder than the background music that ultimately drowns her out, and it's unfortunate because her voice sounds best in middle and lower tones. Belting should be only for the climax of the song... not for the sake of being heard. The whole point of Evanescence is foremost Amy's soft operatic voice with the guitars as background instruments spliced with strings and piano as a BACKDROP for HER. Not forcing her to adjust to the guitars! Should be the other way around. Which Lillywhite songs do you mean? I loved them too. And does anyone have links to the Lilywhite Twitvids we got? Love to see em! Yes WindUp SUCKS. All labels are terrible. RCA ruined Xtina's experimental album Bionic too. I can't stand when labeled get involved.

.... Is there a Mrs. Titanic? Sorry, had to get that out of my system. Maybe by the time she gets lost enough in paradise again to want to make an album, she'll be this badass mega harpist. The harp was great on ev3, but I can't wait to hear some more intricate stuff.

I don't like Amy's electronic stuff. Maybe it's too early but, from what I've gathered on twitvids and whole industrial sound of Evanescence, it won't be that good. I mean If I will want to listen trip-hop/experimental kinda music, there will be so much better music than Amy makes in this genre.

I don't really care what we get first, if at all. I just want one of these to happen. Even just an EP from either would be great! She wouldn't have to tour for that. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the Steve Lillywhite stuff. That was probably the sexiest and best Ev stuff I ever heard. I just knew that was going to end up being my favorite Ev album EVER. I really hate Wind-Up. Thank goodness Amy does too (NWTB and Sick. I heard LC was about Wind-Up, too.) I just love all of the solo stuff. My biggest complaint is all of the belting in Ev3. I have a really hard time listening to that album song after song all the way through without getting tired and bored of all of the belting. I don't have that problem with the other albums and pre-Fallen songs. I always turn the CD off once I get to The Other Side. :/ Some of my favorites are also the softer and more experimental songs. SH, Before the Dawn, LC, YL preview, Together Again, LIP, Give Unto Me, Anywhere, etc... I mean, I love the harder songs too.

Those videos aren't working though... and what is this Stomin' Steve stuff everyone's talking about? And Lost Whispers? This video is working: This one is "Lost Whispers". It's not actually the song title, it's currently untitled. Lost Whispers is just a name fans gave the song because of the lyrics. 1:38 AM Not sure if this is a Lillywhite sessions song. Lost WhispersStompin' Steve Another Piece Of The Puzzle
I think those are the only Lillywhite Videos we had
