How much did you get one for and yours is the real deal? I envy you -_-" haha That was when Evanescence were making a comeback so I am presuming that when Ev release a new album someone will put one up The guy didn't know it was even worth anything, but all the fans did once we asked him for more pics and where he had got it from! I got it for $300 in the end and then I got it signed by Amy later that year so it's my pride and joy!

I truly feel that real Origins will only pop up on eBay with sellers who don't know they are worth anything. The same thing happened when I got mine, the seller listed it as a buy it now if I am not mistaken and got it from the original BigWig website. I got it for $17 and it still to this day is the best EV find I have ever found online. Got mine signed as well at the end of Amy's benefit concert in Rockport in 2013.

I think there may be an authentic one up on eBay right now, but I'm unsure as the seller is uncooperative and has already packaged everything for shipment (which seems odd).

I think I saw that one, I was curious if it was real or not.

Is that the ones that are part of that $2,000 bundle?

Most for sale give no information, you would not know which version they are at all.

Hello,
Some of Evanescence fans (like me) prefer to have all albums in a physical form (I like CDs, personally).
I'm not sure on the band's stance regarding their demo album, but I personally like it, especially the instrumental piece at the end.
However, buying a LEGIT Origin album is a nightmare, there are very few out there sold for outrageous prices, and there's a metric ton of counterfeits / bootlegs, making this even a bigger problem.
I wonder what the band thinks about re-releasing Origin on a CD. I'd buy it instantly.

It was release on vinyl and I think that's the only ever time it's going to get an official release. You can download it from the Evanescence Reference (Amy and Ben gave permission to download pre-Fallen material). They have the .flac files from an authentic Origin. You'd be able to download those and load them onto your own CD.

I'm the kind of person who highly dislikes digital distrubtion - it's not quite the same to me as owning the physical album itself. Plenty of origin bootlegs on ebay, by the way.

Because the version is indeed a bootleg.

Anitten Yes, the real thing has an IFPI code in addition to the BWE code on the back of the disc. (Although, if I'm not mistaken, this has been faked an instance or two as well, making it much harder to tell the real ones from fake ones.) This one also has typos on the back and the color is off.

The misprint is also a huge give away, this seller was on here trying to convince people it's real but it's not. There is no "demo" version of Origin. It was a low budget production printed in 2 runs. Big Wig wasn't a big record label, it was basically friends of Amy and Ben's who made a polished looking product for them to give out to actual record labels and sell at shows. ^it's actually really easy to tell a fake even if it has correct codes. I haven't seen a fake that uses the correct font and mirroring for the code that a real Origin has and I haven't seen a fake that has a second IFPI code.
