Something even heavier would also be great

I'm hoping for less heavy... Well, not necessarily less, but not more. The single most distinct thing about the Evanescence sound is their fusion of styles, sounds, and energies. Going even harder rock than the last album will.... Erase this. They already struggled (and ultimately did not entirely succeed) with blending their many sounds with a heavier style. What happened was all the different sounds fighting with each other and being drowned out in a big wall of loud.

Well I think Melt doesn't like Fallen so not surprising if he doesn't want choir. I don't want all songs to have choir, but I missed it in Ev3. Same with heavier songs, I don't want them all to be heavy. I just want something that I enjoy.

Now hold the phone. I don't dislike Fallen because of the choir (though I do dislike the choir in Fallen, TOD's is much better). I dislike Fallen because the songs are flimsy, overly simplistic, and lack energy. Just thought I'd clarify that, hehehehehehehehe........ ;D

I wouldn't say that they lack energy, the songs are more simplistic I agree, but that's not a bad thing for me. The first time I heard Ev was with Lacrymosa, and the choir in that was a big part of what made me love it.

I really want an acoustic song with guitar!! come on they haven't done that in YEARS! and MHIB and The Change sounded so good with guitar. so yes more guitar songs and I agree that they need more melodic guitars for the next album. I would love for them to experiment more with electronic sounds.

I actually don't like guitar solos, so i like the way Ev never have any.

They had like 1 in Fallen. They could maybe include 1 guitar solo in one of the songs? Also cool imagery in the background when they're performing songs like 'Swimming Home' would be nice.

I agree with Melt on the heaviness. I'm not the biggest fan of heavy music, but the thing for me is that Ev originally called my attention for other reasons, not for their heaviness. I don't think heaviness is that important to Ev's sound given the fact that this is the first time they try out an album with such a big porcentage of straight forward heavy songs. They'd still could do without going completely heavy. This album's heaviness was nice for a change and it was a nice start for the new line up, but what i want to hear from the band in the near future is a refreshing sound, experiments, for them to try out unexpected stuff they've never tried before. I don't mind if they go heavier, i just don't want them to go the Sick route, which is heavier than usual for them, but sounds uninspired and like they could have done something way better. I'm not a "sick" hater, though, i like the song, the lyrics especially, there's not a song off EV3 that i can say i truly hate, not even WYW Besides, overall, this heavier approach they've tried didn't impress me much, to be honest. A lot of songs sound like they have the same chugga chugga the whole time with Amy belting out like crazy to be heard over all the heaviness. EV3 has songs i love, but the heaviness they brought in was not particularly interesting in my opinion. I was expecting better from the guys in that respect. I guess next time. All i know is that i'd rather get a soft album with lots of creative ideas, than a heavier album with lots of dated ones they've already tried on EV3. That's it. EDIT: LOL, sorry for all the "heaviness"

* MOAR CHOIR * intricate, prominent strings (violin, viola, cello, bass, harp) * crazy experimentalism * LESS BELTING, AMY! It works in certain songs, but not almost every single song (I'm looking at you, Ev3) * songs with a cool ambience like Give Unto Me, The End, Unknown Song, Before the Dawn, Together Again, Surrender * acoustic guitar! * album art like TOD again. Cathedrals? YES PLEASE. * songs like LC, Anywhere, NGB, SH, LIP, BNM, Lacrymosa, LY, FOI, WotW.... * no boring "chugga chugga" guitars like in Fallen * really long string intros/outros (ex. Tourniquet) The one on Oceans was waaaay too short. * cool prominent synths, electro stuff like from the Lillywhite sessions. * taiko drums! * windchimes *music box sounds Just some stuff I'd like to see happen. ;D

I like the choir, but it's not one of those things that has to be there for me. If it is, fine. If not that's cool too. I'm still so on that electro trip from a couple years ago. But I know we'll never get their full experimental creativity while being signed to Wind-Up
