Region--------------Certification---------Sales/shipments Australia----------------Gold-------------------35,000 Canada-----------------Gold-------------------40,000 United Kingdom---------Silver------------------60,000
These are the certifications. This means that it didn't sell 500.000 in US. It also says that it sold around 250000 copies in the US as of december 2011. Now, we can say that in the US, it is 350.000 + 60.000 + 35.000 + 40.000 = 485.000 copies. If we say that it sold in Japan, South America and other places a 100/150.000 It means that it sold around 600.000 the max.
And this is a very optimistic calculation. Being pesimistic, 500.000 worldwide the max, if we are lucky

as for now I'd just love to hear something really new and never done before by them, and has originality, something experimental and creative you know, an album that would punch me in the face and blow me away

I think that there's a pretty good chance that there will be another Ev album because Amy said in an interview that they had a lot of songs for almost two albums... I think that this was said before they released Ev3 Deluxe edition. It was about having 16 completed songs and fighting with the label about which ones will make it to the album, I guess. I'm almost sure that there's no one missed song from that phase.

And on the voice subject, i'd like Amy to take a bunch of vocal lessons to improve her live performances or otherwise, just write easier songs for herself to sing on tour, night after night. I like the super epic vocals, but they don't work very well live, so, i wouldn't mind having only a small porcentage of difficult songs on the next album, and then a bunch of easier songs that she can pull off easily, without stressing her voice so much and putting so much effort into her singing. Just vocals that flow naturally would be nice to hear for once.

I agree with the vocal lessons. She could make her voice so much better! And then the choir. We need that too.

I'd like them to add the choir, too, but only if they use it in a less conventional way. I like the way they used it on TOD, but maybe they could try something different. Idk exactly how, but if they use choir next time, i'd like them to use it differently, not in the TOD way or the Fallen way., just find a different way to use it, more refreshing, something they've never tried before.

The reality is that each album they release is selling less than the previous, which is a massive shame because I reckon they're as good if not better now than they were during the Fallen Era. They really need an album to outsell Ev3 though if they're going to survive financially, but it would be tragic if they need to 'sell out' in order to achieve this.
As a musician myself I find that the whole prospect of writing music for the sole purpose of selling it to survive financially rather than writing for yourself is pretty soul destroying, but I also realise that sometimes it's the only way to get by when only a few people can relate to your form of self expression. I'm hoping that with a new label they can turn the sales around without sacrificing their sound and loyalty to self expression and the enjoyment of writing music over fashions and trends. As Amy said in an interview recently (I forget which one) "There's too much business in an industry that should really revolve around art and not money". The prospect of Evanescence selling out is just unbearable for me. I'd actually prefer to see the band split up than for that to happen. They've never written a half-hearted song and I hope they never do.
The problem is, if they do move to a new label it'll be a big gamble and they could actually lose a lot more in sales than they would with Wind Up as Wind Up's a big label now with a lot of promotion power.

It'd be nice if they add choirs and stuff to their next album. The songs should be easier to sing live, songs in Ev3 are harder to sing than the songs in Fallen and TOD... Those songs seem to exhaust Amy's voice. I'd love to hear more songs with Amy on the harp, too.
I love listening to Ev3, but I hope the fourth album will be better <3

I really hope they don't bring back the choir. That's a generic, unoriginal sound these days. It's moving backwards instead of innovating, which is something they did with this album to an extent... Doing it again would lead me to believe this line up just isn't creative. If they were to bring the choir back they'd have to do something different with it. The big 'epic' sound is done, they've done it, everyone else has done it. If they want to add a classical touch to their music, I think the harp is key. Amy can play it, but it's hugely underused on the album. That is definitely an uncommon combination and something unique that they are very much capable of. The harp is the one good thing about NWTB, in my opinion, which is otherwise an uninspired song. It's very important for Evanescence to change for the next album, to surprise everyone.

If they were to bring the choir back they'd have to do something different with it. The big 'epic' sound is done, they've done it, everyone else has done it. I agree. Actually, i'd like to hear the choir make a comeback in a couple of songs, but in a different, unexpected way, not in a TOD fashion. I loved it when they did it, but bringing it back the same way again would sound dated, it would be like an abuse of the same formula, (just like Amy abuses certain lyrics *pain, darkness, blood, bleed, etc*). Let's see what they come up with next time, i don't want to get too excited with innovative stuff, though. It looked like they were going for a fresh, innovative approach in 2009 and then they changed everything, so...

1. More experimental sound with an atmosphric vibe, like LC or at the end of the original BNM. 2. More daring guitars/bass and solos. Not just heavier, but a lot more intricate. I liked a lot of Terry's ideas from TOD, so taking it a step further would be awesome. 3. No filler songs. 4. Surprises in the album, like random sounds thrown everywhere or hidden tracks. 5. Unreleased songs as b-sides. 6. More imagery in the album artwork and packaging, kinda like creating their own mythos. 7. More diversity in lyrics. Amy wrote some really interesting lyrics and I'd like to see a lot more than that. 8. Even though I like Amy's vocals on Ev3, I prefered her more "eclectic" style. It's a lot more interesting and just...more Amy. 9. Collaborations! A song featuring Myles Kennedy would be nice! ;D

I'd love to have some songs with choir in again too. I like that they went heavier with Ev3 too, so more of that would be nice. I think the main reason that TOD and Ev3 haven't sold so much is because of the internet and piracy, and also most people probably think that Ev was a one hit wonder or something. Tbh I prefer it if Ev becomes less well known.
