I'm still patiently waiting for Evanescence to explore a more electronic/trip hop sound. I remember being so excited about the idea of session musicians working with Ev during the Lillywhite sessions, so I hope there's potential for more of that. I'd love to hear a more industrial NIN/How To Destroy Angels take, and I'm hoping for a bit more of a diverse sound. The last couple of albums have sounded pretty full on and in the rafters pretty much from start to finish, so a few quieter songs would be great. Even Far From Heaven was pretty full on for a ballad. And by quiet, I don't necessarily mean ballad, but something dark, brooding and a bit sinister would be cool.
I just want Ev to flex their musical muscles a bit - explore different styles and dynamics. I'd also love the next album to be mixed better, so I'm hopeful they'll work with a different producer nex time.
Also, bring the strings/orchestra back!

I hope she puts Perfect Dream and Avocado Cream on this album.
There's a lot of material left over from the last album, and there's still stuff from Broken Records, I hope he uses some stuff and doesn't need to compose much, although I miss when the band released some b-sides.

I would love the new album to explore new sounds and instruments (didgeridoo anyone? Hang drums these sound awesome also more harp and maybe the Arabic oud, also I’d LOVE it if they used more natural background sounds like the rain and thunder in “Eternal”, maybe more of that and sounds like the ocean, breeze, birds..etc. MAYBE some techo metal??), I also want an approach that somewhat goes back to the darker EV sound but used in a new un-rehashed way, like dark but optimistic, less of “I’m stuck and I’m sad and I’m dying” and more of wanting to explore to learn, having the theme of mystery, curiosity maybe more metaphors but not throughout the whole album. I want something experimental and exciting and pushes the boundaries. Lastly please have it well produced, we need to hear Amy’s voice loud and clear and the instruments not clashing with each other (duh). Am I asking for too much?

i think that especially with Lacrymosa and EOTD on Synthesis, Science made VERY special magic. These two turned up even better than the originals (and i loved the originals but OOOH MAN). Couldn't hurt to have a bit extra magic on ev5 *-* JohnnyScott almost everything from the Broken Record went out already, except the perfect dream (that we all want here lol) and YGaLtL: evanescence.fandom.com/wiki/Broken_RecordLost Whispers (released on 2016's Lost Whispers) Hi-Lo (released on 2017's Synthesis) Perfect Dream (unreleased to date; video snippet posted on Amy’s Twitter) You Got a Lot to Learn (unreleased to date) Made of Stone (released on 2011's Evanescence) Swimming Home (released on 2011's Evanescence) Secret Door (released on the deluxe version of 2011's Evanescence) Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing (Chris Isaak cover, released on Amy Lee's Recover EP in 2015) Take Cover (released on 2021's The Bitter Truth) Yeah Right (released on The Bitter Truth) Feeding The Dark (released on The Bitter Truth) not sure about the casette "leftovers" though..?

About Broken Records, the only thing missing is these two songs. I remember Amy saying that they had already recorded the instrumentals for 3 songs that were left out of The Bitter Truth, maybe she will find a home for this material on the next album.

I've been listening to Beth Gibbons' (from Portishead) new solo album a lot today. She barely ever releases music, so it's a bit of a momentous occasion. It's so great - really heavy emotionally, but that was always to be expected I suppose. The production is wild - it's making me think of Tom Waits and Fiona Apple. I'm assuming Amy will be all over this album as I know she's a big Portishead fan. I'm hoping it'll inspire some crazy ideas for the next Ev album.

Honestly I’d be happy if they recorded the full version of avocado cream, and kinda went with that vibe. It also is very similar to the Lillywhite sessions before EV3. I hope they go into more of an experimental sound direction. Perfect Dream would go with it perfectly.

Just hoping Nick will not produce Ev5. Hahah. Honestly I’d be happy if they recorded the full version of avocado cream, and kinda went with that vibe. Sorry for asking this but i'm curious, since you have meet with amy, have you ever tell her that a lot of fans wants Perfect Dream? I once met Amy at the meet and greet in São Paulo in 2012 and asked her to play Perfect Dream. She said she would not, but I would love the song. If I ever meet her again, I will ask her about the song... but hopefully the song hasn't become a 'persona non grata' just like YL. lol

I feel like many people believe that the sound will stay the same after finishing the song. It's not really true - in the Avocado Cream there's basically only synth and very simple automatic drummer, it's what you program yourself at your keyboard at home. It's like a drawing of your sketch when your idea comes to life. I don't believe that Avocado Cream or Perfect Dream would sound the exact same today, because every project goes through different creative stages.
It's a cool sound - the voice especially - but i want more new Ev than redoing old or unfinished projects, unless they want to do that. There's enough people obsessed mainly over their old stuff already out there.
