I figured it would be time to start this discussion. Looks like Evanescence has a lot lined up this year, next stop is San Juan, PR, a few festivals, headlines, Korn Anniversary show, and then headline tour in Canada. During that time, Amy has said that the next step will be to begin writing for the next record. Amy even said in a very recent interview that she already has a song written about her feelings and mindset during the writing for Fallen. Will posted today that he's heading to rehearsals and writing sessions for the next record. So it's safe to say that we could see EV5 by next year I think! talks about writing a new song around the 8:30 mark https://www.instagram.com/p/C6YY1CELu3E

if i don't misremember, they started writing for tbt in 2019 and recorded the first 4 singles in february 2020, so if they follow the same timeline, the new album could be next year.

I'm gald they have a packed schedule already for this year but I was really hoping they'd slow down even more to focus on writing. Though I wouldn't be upset if they played a new song (or a couple) during the concerts close to the end of the year.

That was such a epic moment for them to drop a new song like that.

Ev fans tend not to agree on a lot stuff but I think this is one where the consensus is PLEASE WORK WITH SOMEBODY ELSE ALEREADY LMAO! I'm shocked Amy/Ev never addressed the complaints on the mixing of TBT (and to some degree, also Ev3). So I'm really excited about possible new collaborations and expect them not to repeat with Nick

Ev5, i love this, thanks for the thread name. It brings back memories. Anyway i think they will need time to decompress and focus on the inner feelings to be able to create again, but maybe you're right. Thanks for the interview, i realized i forgot to post a transcript in the thread, i'm on it. EDIT: here's the interview transcript: 100.3 The Bear: Interview w Lzzy & Amy (23/4/2024)riskievfhead welcome to the gang!

The few clips we got from 2009/10 in the studio sounded incredible.

If I can be greedy with one wish. I want Amy to finally release Perfect Dream but idk if it fits Evanescence at all, this would be the first Evanescence song that would make me shake my hips instead of headbanging lol

I feel like the last couple Ev rock albums have been about turning everything to 11, and I'd like to see more restraint on this next album. I also would love to see more collaboration with Will "Science" Hunt. Him and Amy working together seems to always result in magic. Can't wait to see what Amy and the band come up with!

I'm no so sure about Science making magic, some of the beats and electronic production in Synthesis was very underwhelming.

I'm no so sure about Science making magic, some of the beats and electronic production in Synthesis was very underwhelming. I don't think think Synthesis was really meant to be about big electronic beats or production. Synthesis was about pulling back the instruments to hear the tiny details of the electronic programming, which I think was captured beautifully. The electronic programming in Ev's music has always been subtle (think What You Want or Away From Me) and I feel like that was captured well with Synthesis. We are allowed to disagree on this though. Looking at the more representative songs they've worked on together that wasn't driven on the goals of Synthesis (Sally's Song, HDTS, Swimming Home, Feeding the Dark, Yeah Right), I think there is a lot of magic to be had.

So that makes me feel hopeful about PD and maybe even YGATL!
