Shin (goes off topic momentarily, sorry fellow mods  ) I was only listening to Recover Vol 1 the other day and was thinking the same thing! It could be even better now she's had more time and more influences to draw from. Definitely something to look forward to if that's something she still wants to do. Yeah that is a good point actually (with regards to home videos). Doing it this way definitely reduces production costs even if their hands are tied anyway and actually when you do consider that this was done using iPhones it is very impressive the results they've been getting. If you compare some of the stills from WoY with the shots from my potato camera in the fan video it's miles apart. Just shows that they've got enough creativity between them to make it work even without the big production costs. The band did recorded a second cover song at time for the Chain. I'm hoping it's Across the Universe as this cover is more recent and at time when Amy lost Robbie. I'm hoping Dirty Diana has been recorded and the Sia/Ozzy Osbourne mashup as well as the recent covers of Bananarama and Whitney Houston. Is there anyway we could request for Amy just to do piano-vocal cover and use this as promotion? Great news about the US iTunes. When was the last time Ev got a single so high? And not far behind The Weeknd as well. Let’s hope it keeps climbing higher.  Disappointed it's falling in UK charts. It's doing good on Amazon though. My personal favorite shot is when Jen takes off the dress and she goes up in smoke, I thought that was a really cool effect.
Also I completely get it about the acting. However, not one of them is an actor and most of the time they are just playing themselves in music videos. I thought they did good.
The explanation brings the video to a whole new level, in my opinion.

Overall I liked the video. Some pretty cool effects and I like the creepiness of Amy in the monkey mask.Again well done to them making something with limited budget and professional recording equipment. However I really hope that this will be the last of the home made videos though. I thank them for doing it for us (I don’t want to sound ungrateful lol )but I’m struggling to gather that Evanescence visual aesthetic for this era. I know they can’t help it though... *big eye rolls* you know that the only alternative for that it's no videos? i don't wanna go back to ev3 era... also the cover, the music, the videos, the teasers, everything follows the same line... everything it's so raw, demo-ish, no big productions, but keeping a honest and straightforward message so... this is the visual aesthetic from this era and they are slaying it |

Sorry Tezbear, you must not have gotten the memo that only positive criticisms of the band are allowed here. It's gotten to the point where I'm too anxious to post my 100% honest opinions and I honestly feel like this place can have such an unfriendly atmosphere. Sorry for rant but it needs to be said if people don't want this community to die down again. Dude I feel ya! The crazy thing is I didn’t even say anything negative!! People are just skim reading my comment and posting what they think straight away. I . LIKE. THE. VIDEO!! I’ve just normally got an idea of the visuals to an era by now which is why I was hoping next video we would get a studio filmed piece and not an iPhone one. |

Because people are expecting too much from the band when they can't do anything due to the current situation hence why they're getting this sort of reaction. P. R. Brown's explanation says it all. I feel for the guy, he's actually done some really great work. Reason why I think Ev went with him was because of the visuals he did for Sweet Sacrifice. He has done a great job on this video with what he's had to work with and reading through that it appears the band had more of a say over this - acid trip of a visual (says it all about what we're going through atm). |

Actually just to clarify - people are happy and grateful for the video but are also looking forward to the next one (hopefully) getting a studio music video as it offers more advanced visual simulation and story telling lol 😂. This is getting boring now - let’s move on. I think my favourite shot from this video would be the one:  Really simple but very cool. |

It's the fact there are quite a few people disregarding the level of effort that went into pulling this off and demanding they do better? These people made an effort to deliver, they didn't have to. All I'm trying to do is open their eyes like open doors and lead them down into their (Evanescence's) core where they've (fans) become so numb... I read a some guy commenting on YT stating if the reason behind making a video like this is due to quarantine then to hold off until normality. My question is why do they need to hold off? They made a promise and they're sticking to it. Even if they did hold off until then whenever that is they will lose a ton of fans - because the fans will think they're making fake promises. Maybe under Wind-ups wing, but since they've been independent they've been getting more done. |

...All of a sudden I am very concerned for Troy  I feel like there is a lot of self loathing from what I've seen. I love Troy and I hope he knows his value <3 Troy's parts hit me the hardest. I like how we've gotten to know him more, recently. And seeing him and Amy have their moment performing for the Metal Hammer show was magical. I also hope he knows that he's a huge part of what pulled Ev back up during the John/Rocky fiasco and that he continues to bring his own uniqueness to the band and we love it. I don't know how Amy got so damn lucky with her current lineup. I really love the video concept for TGIO. Amy seems to be really pushing herself to do her best work and give us something we haven't experienced from the band yet, and it's paying off. The natural feeling of involvement from the entire band is also a breath of fresh air. I know Amy pushed a band focus during the Ev3 era but it felt kind of forced. I love seeing that each member is excited for us to see their contributions to the art and it warms my heart. Ughh I remember those times! It´s still baffling to me how two "hired guns" were able to cause so much damage at the time. Seeing the band now and how healthy and united it is really puts many things into perspective. Video is great, but I do hope like all others they are able to up the visual production game in the coming months, don´t think the few cases of criticism are directed towards the band but the situation in general. I bet Amy and the others are even more frustrated than we are. Mad respect to them for delivering during this pandemic. |
