Do we know what was the first song (non-Lillywhite) of the EV LP era they wrote?
I'd put my chips on New Way to Bleed since 1) In an interview (Rockline? The one where they said they were ready to play Disappear live sometime soon, I think) she wasn't sure whether or not NWTB was a Lillywhite song or not, which one can presume means it was quite early when it was written - or at least early enough for her not to be completely sure, and 2) Since NWTB is about the label being jerks, it was likely written at around the time they were switching over from Lillywhite to the EV LP. The question of whether or not Sick is the last song they wrote for Lillywhite I can't make a guess at, since I'm not sure if Wind-Up were mean-faces throughout the process, or specifically at the end where they forced her to change things. If the latter is the case, then the divide would be something like - other Lillywhite Songs, Sick | New Way to Bleed, other EV LP Songs

I'm not sure what the first song was that they wrote for the EV3 era but I think it may be a tie between NWTB and LIP. Didn't Amy say that LIP was written at her home studio and she felt something was missing but couldn't put her finger on it and sent it to Nick? And I also thought that Amy said NWTB was written after the TOD tour ended (though I could be misinterpreting what Amy said)?
Weren't the last songs to be finished Disappear and ET?

Oh, wait that sounds kinda familiar! What interview was that from? Wait are you taking about the Rockline interview? She said that she worked on it with Terry about "a year ago" (so 2010 era), and she said this: I don't exactly know what "our moment" means, but is she implying that the label began pressuring her immediately once the TOD tour ended because they weren't happy with TOD? Yeah, LIP is a contender too. From the NWE interview: So yeah, a toss up between NWTB and LIP - I suppose, since we won't know for sure, that we can say more or less both were the earliest songs. And yes, I totally agree with Disappear and ET as the last songs to be finished, I remember her saying something along those lines of those two taking awhile as the album was finishing up. From the NWE interview on Erase This: Hmm, I can't find a quote on Disappear, but I do remember Amy saying something along those lines as well.

I can't really see (hear) how Ev3 sounds 'forced'. Would someone mind explaining? It's not my favourite Ev album, Fallen will always hold place no. 1, but I pick it any day before TOD.

DarkFlare89: Erase This was the last song to be sung (skip to about 1:00). And it seems as though it was a very old song because Amy says "I've been living with it for so long". I'm not sure if she's talking about the song or writing lyrics in general. shachath: This interview/quote is why people think it sounds rushed; simply because the record was rushed. Amy said so herself.

AeternusAmatorius, well that could mean a couple of things as I see it. 1. People believe it was forced, and therefore think it sounds like it was. 2. Setting a dead line like that doesn't necessarily mean anything bad and that things were forced. 2,5. They didn't dwell on things and over worked anything. I still stay with my opinion, I do not think the record sounds rushed or forced. Metallica's St. Anger sounds forced at times, Ev3 does not

I didn't feel it sounded rushed at all either (well maybe if I just want to listen to slower/moderate tempo songs but torn because I wanna listen to Ev3 - XD). It does have a faster tempo to it, though; so maybe that's why people think that. I dunno. I think it's paced great for how much of a rock-ier album it is. But some people are picky and wanted the 2009 sessions more than what we got... *shrug* mydnyghtamethyst: I LOVE listening to Ev in the car! Especially Together Again, with the bass turned up!!! Ahhhh!!!! It's complete awesome sauce if you love bass in your music!

^I literally just saw that on their site and it made me so dorkily happy haha
I really hope the album starts to hit some more certification thresholds. I wonder if it'll see a certification in the US. Considering it sold over 100K in its first week and it was toured for a year with What You Want apparently selling over 100K as well, it must be approaching a Gold.
I also saw that TOD and Fallen achieved Platinum status after their 2011-2012 tour. Ev's legacy is still prospering ~

Wikipedia updated their pages and referenced it from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) and their references are indeed correct -
Altogether:
Fallen 4x Plat 1.2 mil MI - Silver 200k BMTL - Plat 600k ABH - Plat 50k TOD - Plat 300k Ev3 - Gold 100k
Pretty sure we'll see CMWYS and GU get certified at some point because they both charted pretty high over here.

Been listening to this album quite a bit recently. I fell in love with it when it was first released but it didn't really have the same lasting impact as Fallen and The Open Door for me, although I'm really getting back into it at the moment. I think either Lost in Paradise or Disappear will always remain my favourites on the album.

Does anyone else know what I mean when I say that this album is too loud? Especially on Lost in Paradise, it sounds like it was mixed waay too loudly. I imagine Wind Up thought the loudness war was going to make them money. -_-

I imagine Wind Up thought the loudness war was going to make them money. -_- Oh I def get what you're saying and I know we're not the only ones. I've been saying the exact same thing since day 1 about the mixing not being clear enough especially in the heaviest moments. Imo it just doesn't compliment the music and Amy's voice that way which is pissing me off cause I think some songs would be 10 times better with a more clear "Ev mixing". I find it very tiring to listen to the whole album and even some songs on their own are very tiring for my ears to go through. For one thing I think this is partially because Amy is straining her voice a lot. She's belting in most of the album while I like her soft voice more. The whole album is supposed to be more heavy though and appeals to more heavy listeners. The drums are heavy, guitars are more loud and heavy also there is an absence of choir and the orchestral parts are not as distinct as the other albums. So yeah as you can imagine it's my least fave Ev album for all of the above
