Oh sweet. That's good to hear. I'm glad it's at least closer to a million than half a million. Though it's kind of infuriating to think about how much better it could have done if it had just been promoted decently. I think they could've sold a lot more albums if some good singles had just been put out properly. I bet more rock radio listeners would've been more inclined to buy the album if they'd heard more than just "WYW". Definitely, it's their comeback album and the promotion was dismal. It's kinda funny that they had better promotion before What You Want came out than after. They had at least 2 months of free time between WYW and the album release date, I don't know why their management and/or WU didn't book them for any TV spots during those times. You'd think with all that MTV coverage they'll be able to snag a performance or at least an appearance during the VMA's. I hope they've learned their lesson.

Lost In Paradise is the third single from the self-titled album and released May 2012. Can you please tell me what is the worldwide sale of the self-titled album? And please give me the link so that I can see. gavin4713 can you please give me the link that the worldwide sale of the self-titled album is 500,000? Lost in Paradise was the fifth single from the self titled era. MOS and TOS were promo singles before LIP was a single. Ring: Where did you get the dates when those singles were released (aside from WYW and MHIB)?

Actually the album has sold close to or more than a million worldwide, the last estimate for the album was 850,000+ copies sold, the number was from Spring of 2012. The figure was from the Mediatraffic forum but unfortunately, the board closed down. You can try going to UKMix too, they also have the number for the album (not sure if it's updated though since I haven't been there since last summer). That's why I'm asking you, guys. I've just read an article days ago and the total worldwide sale of the self-titled album is 920,000+ and unfortunately, I can't find the link to the article. I don't know if that report was updated but I'm sure it is authentic. *sighs* I hope the self-titled album made it to over 1 million worldwide sales this year.

^^ Wow, that's incredible. I'm so proud, I had no idea that it increased so much, I'm also stucked on that number about half a milion cause I've never seen any article about any possible update. @theriseandthefall could you be able to find the source again? I want to spread it! Dig into all of your browsers history. Pretty please

If that's accurate, I would be blown away! Those are some seriously impressive numbers considering that they only had 1 rock radio hit with this album. That would make it appear that the vast majority of those sales comes purely from the fans rather than a lot of casual listeners. I'd be very pleased knowing that they still have such a large, dedicated fanbase.

Lately I have been listening to exclusively The Open Door, without giving this album any attention. I think I'm going to listen to this entire album later today.

^^ I can understand why u give exclusivity to TOD, it's the perfect album, but Evanescence it's the second best, in my opinion. I dont know why but I always prefer the songs on the end than the first 5 songs (where the singles are).

I love MOS and TC but my fav are disappear, oceans and never go back, all in the end of the album. In the TOD happens the same, my top 3 are Your Star, The only one and Lose Control. Fallen it's the only one that have my top 3 on the top, going under, BMTL and EF.

rionka I haven't listened to the whole thing reversed yet, but I must say, I really like My Heart is Broken backwards.

RapturedLight thanks for your reminder, i'm gonna play it again for second time I just realized a thing. That "Evanescence" title seemed always a little empty for me, there was no story behind it, although i loved Amy's expresion that it's " about me falling back in love with this thing, with Evanescence, with what I've obsessed over for a decade" [ source]. Yeah, this was probably the main reason to pick that name. But what made them so? Amy made her own stuff before and she was rejected by Wind-up, because it " didn't sound like Evanescence". What if guys at this point decided to make "the band record" out of spite? And then it started to be really fun for them, when they clicked together... Gosh, I hope they still remember their chemistry, now I'm so much more curious (and prepared) for whatever comes next!
