Yeah. That's the beginning part of Disappear, well the "wasted pain" part. She sings it differently here though, and I don't remember noticing this Piano bit in the album song. Is she playing this exact Piano piece in the album version of the song?

Oh! Haha! Maybe they got it from Windows Media Player preferences or something. Yeah. That's the beginning part of Disappear, well the "wasted pain" part. She sings it differently here though, and I don't remember noticing this Piano bit in the album song. Is she playing this exact Piano piece in the album version of the song? That's because Amy was just working on the last bit of lyrics and melody for the song in that video. The album version is in a different key. It also has drums, guitars, and synths behind/in front of the piano. I think in the video it's in B minor.

Ev3 is a good album, can't say I'm particularly disappointed with it or anything. However, the more I listen to it, the more disturbing issues I happen to come across... :/
First and foremost, it took me a few spins of the record in order to actually start differentiating the songs from one another. As many of you have stated here already, Ev3 sounds mostly all the same. Not cool. I wanted to get at least some diversity out of it. (A couple of songs or so in the faces of SH and SD couldn't really make much of a difference for me.)
Secondly, the lack of proper ballads just kills me! I mean, sure, we did get LIP, SH and SD but out of those, I could only call the first one an actual ballad. I'd like to point out that ballads are something Ev are quite good at. Such a shame Ev3 almost lacked any...
Moreover, Ev3 was supposed to be more of an electronic-influenced album. Sadly, we got to hear very few of those influences on the record. Instead, we got tons of weird-sounding and cheesy Amy vocals (with TC being a great example,) as well as repetitive and even some ininspired songs. Lame.
Otherwise, Ev3 is quite challenging vocally which I do find a plus to it. If only Amy's vocals weren't mixed in a way as if she wasn't taking any breathing breaks at certain parts whatsoever...
Overall, Ev3 sounds more like a mainstream radio-friendly album to me rather than a solid follow-up to TOD. I miss all those elements of the latter one, such as the distinctive back vocals, background noises, etc. Thankfully, the piano play on Ev3 is good and the harp is a nice touch to the songs wherein it's been used. Lyrics are at a high level and typical of the new Amy; straight-forward on the one hand but still quite metaphorical on the other one. I find some of them beautiful and they sound even more so accompanied by Amy's voice.
Favourite songs on Ev3: The Change, The Other Side, End of the Dream, New Way to Bleed, Oceans, Made Of Stone
Tracks on Ev3 I am less fond of: Never Go Back, Disappear

Hi! I don't know if this is the place for asking this someone have a scan of the back of the evanescence deluxe CD? Something like this but better quality

The "'Evanescence' deluxe edition back scan" thread merged into the "'Evanescence' Album Discussion" thread on 2/2/2013 by Double A.

I'm sure you could have asked this in the "Evanescence Album Discussion thread". It would probably be hard to find an HQ scan of the deluxe edition because of the fact that it's a foil type paper. It would probably have to be the digital file to have it HQ.

I think that the EvLP is my favourite Evanescence album. I know that most of the fanbase either considers Fallen or The Open Door the best Ev album, but I really love EvLP and here is why.
When I first started liking Evanescence, it was 2003 and I was watching the video for Bring Me to Life on TV. My mother wouldn't let me get the album 'cause she didn't like Amy's voice, so I watched a lot of music TV so I could listen to the singles. When Call Me When You're Sober was released, I heard it on the radio while I was on the school bus and remembered just how much I'd liked Evanescence before. So (still unable to actually buy anything) I went and downloaded all of the Evanescence I could. I was thirteen and Fallen was my favourite. I was too young for The Open Door to really mean anything to me. When I was fifteen, I backtracked and Origin was my favourite. There's something really magical about the sound of those recordings and I started to prefer the Origin versions of Whisper and Imaginary to the Fallen ones. Then, when I was sixteen, The Open Door was my favourite. I'd grown up, I suppose, and I'd grown into TOD's sound and complexity. Songs that I hadn't really liked when it was first released were suddenly all I wanted to listen to.
It was a long wait between TOD and EV, which you all know, and I fell back onto my other favourite bands to survive. When EV was finally released it was as if it was the soundtrack to my current headspace. I still listen to it more than any other Evanescence album. It feels more adult to me, and I'm an adult now so that is perfect. I suppose Evanescence grew up as I grew up, and so the next album will probably take EV's place as my favourite. And I'm completely happy with that.
I kind of feel like even though the fanbase loves EV, they disrespect it. Wind-Up were bitches and Evanescence had to go back and write a more mainstream record. That doesn't mean that the band didn't give it everything they had. So it might not be as experimental as Amy had first wanted, that doesn't mean she isn't damn proud of the songs. Honestly, I doubt Evanescence would release anything that Amy isn't happy with, and the fact that EV was released tells me that she loves this music even though it's not what she originally intended.
After all, the Lillywhite sessions album wasn't going to be all that band-oriented, was it? And hasn't Amy said countless times that she loves how band-oriented EV is? And don't we all love how the guys have contributed to Evanescence's sound? I know it was a dick move for Wind-Up to reject the first incarnation of Evanescence's third album, but I really think that Evanescence wrote a beautifully chaotic and inspired album when they wrote EV and so... yeah. I kinda lost my momentum there. Lol.

I agree. Ev3 is Evanescence's best album in more ways than one. Style-wise, my favourite album is and remains The Open Door, but that doens't mea is their best. Your keyboard is full of rightness and truth.

Hmmm... When I think about it, Ev3 is their best album and it may also be my favorite. This is the only album of theirs that I will listen to every song on (except Sick). While TOD has three of my all-time favorite songs (Lithium, Like You, and Good Enough) I always skip SS, CMWYS (though I do like it, I'm just bored of it), SWQ, Lacrymosa, TOO, and ATILF.... Plus I can't say I've ever loved an Evanescence song as much as I do Erase This. The thing with TOD, for me, is that it has more to appreciate than the other two. There is more creativity and a more unique sound, but it doesn't pack a punch musically. It doesn't impress and it isn't mixed properly for a truly invigorating listen... The mixing is very flat (the worst is the vocals). Ev3 is mixed horribly at times, heh, but it is a thrilling listen because there is energy in the mix.
It took me a long time to get used to the album, but in the end the songwriting quality is just superior and that is something that really keeps me listening... There are so many things I can ooh and aah about. The freaking drums in ET (and strings, ya'll), the solo cello scattered about, the lyrics of SH, her voice has never sounded better (they layered it more, but somehow it still sounds more raw), the events that songs like NGB and ET become toward the ending, etc.....

^Exactly why Ev3 is my favourite. I absolutely love most of the songs and the ones I don't love are still so masterfully crafted that I can't deny them.
