Ring I think you should click the link. I did click the link, and the statements that say the album sold over 6 million copies are not sourced. Wikipedia by itself without sources is not reliable. Okay. I got your point.

Ring @theriseandthefall And that was in 2008 so it has to have sold 6 million by now You have to go further down in wikipeida to the commercial performance section and it gives a source

It probably has sold more than 6 million by now, but I'm still waiting for a reliable source.

UPDATE!
Wikipedia shows that The Open Door reached 9.1 million copies worldwide (including the US). In the second paragraph, Wikipedia stated: Let's jump to the "Commercial performance" section of the page. If you add 5 million and 2 million copies, you will have 7 million copies sold worldwide excluding the US. Add 2.1 million to the total worldwide sale as of 2011 then you will have 9.1 million copies sold worldwide including the United States. Simple mathematics. SOURCE

SOURCE No. The info in the top of the article is a summarization of the article. 5 million isn't included in the math of the second quote. It's simply 2.1 copies sold in the US plus another 2 million in the rest of the world. By the way, did you check your sources? In neither source is it said that TOD sold 4 million copies worldwide. This is the most up to date source we have in regard to how many copies TOD sold.

For some reason this has been my least favorite album at the moment. Yet, I haven't listened to Fallen in forever. Mostly it's been Ev3 and pre-Fallen stuff. What should I do?

Why are we debating on how many album sales TOD has had? Why not just contact Wind-Up and ask for an approximate, closely rounded number?
Second, why would we trust a Wiki page that isn't part of the EvRef? The non-EvRef pages are full of mistakes and false information. I've counted numerous mistakes on the "Evanescence" (self-titled) and "Fallen" Wiki pages that were not related to the EvRef. One large mistake being stated that Will "Science" Hunt was still in the band but not a touring member, though this was some time ago (late 2012/early 2013).

So it means that the total worldwide sale for TOD is unknown due to lack of reliable resources. AeternusAmatorius, what if we ask Wind Up about it via Twitter or any social media sites?

Happy Birthday TOD! TOD's birthday was already on September 25. Not everywhere. In most countries it was October, 3. It's a Libra anyway so it automatically rules.

Seven years ago today The Open Door was released!
I remember I even had the release date memorized and I'd always bug my friends about it.
I still remember where I was when I finally got it! I was in 8th grade and my mom bought it and brought it with her when she picked me up from school. Such a great day!

Something I don't get is why people write an uncapitalized "O" when writing "TOD". "Open" is capitalized in a title, goddammit.
