Overall, I'm happy with the set list, but two that I really hoped for were Oceans and Erase This. The bridge in ET is already so epically classical I feel they could have upped the ante with that one.

I'm thinking the band felt forced to include MI and BMTL in the record, but I personally don't feel much passion for those tracks, and it wouldn't have hurt my feelings a bit if they had left those two out. Additionally, my thinking is that some of the songs, even though they are great and beautiful, were a bit too easy picks. By that I mean e.g. Secret Door, LiP and Lacrymosa that already have if not a full orchestra, at least the strings strongly in place in the original tracks. Please do not get strings confused with a full orchestra. Remember orchestra consists of strings, percussion, horns/brass, and reed instruments as well. I also agree that NGB and TEOTD will be very interesting to hear re-worked.

The string-heavy ones are probably better suited for a full orchestra as they haven't reached their full potential, making them probably pretty good candidates...there's some foundation. But also think about the synthetic stuff. How will electronica sound on some of the songs that were chosen? Secret Door seemed like a boring pick because I can imagine the orchestration, but I also can't imagine the synthetic beats or how epic the new life they breathed into it might be. The ones I'm not too crazy about, I'm actually glad they've included. They outdid themselves with Lacrymosa (I was thinking "wow, what an easy pick..." but WOW, they overshot my expectations from what we've heard so far), so I'm hoping they do the same with My Immortal, LIP, Secret Door, and Lithium.

Since I've heard that Lacrymosa snippet, I don't know what to look forward to most... I was a little bit underwhelmed by Bring Me To Life, 'cause it did not feel to me like it was brought to the next level somehow. I don't hear it in a new way or anything. That snippet of Lacrymosa on the other hand, I looooooove that. And this was a song I didn't expect to have so much extra potential, so I guess it depends on what they do with each song. But from what we have now, I guess I'm most excited for EOTD and NGB and least excited for Secret Door (I really don't see the point in reworking that one, but I could be totally wrong) and MI.

Something that I'm sort of freaking about is that they're using one of my all-time favorite devices in this body of work: the theremin. I have ALWAYS wanted to hear them incorporate that kooky instrument in their work because I feel like it lends itself to their sound; it has a dark, whimsical Tim Burton/Danny Elfman feel to it. This has me as giddy as friggin' school girl.
Also...someone help me out here, but at the very end of the Lacrymosa bit, after Amy belts "...hold you back now love" in that insane operatic key, is it her that finishes out the song or is it the theremin?
Because if it's her....damn....i mEAN DAMMIT GIRL. GET ALL THAT SHIT PLZE

As far as songs like Secret Door, My Immortal, and lost in Paradise. There's a pretty much going to sound the same with Orchestra. So I'm kind of hoping they really do add some really bad ass electronica to make these songs sound really different. Every other aspect of the tracklist I'm completely happy about.
