I genuinely cried when I listened to it for the first time. I've always really loved the string score on the original Bring Me To Life (I can play the main melody really well by heart on the violin), and the Synthesis version keeping the majority of it really excited me. I can't wait to hear what the rest of the album brings. I completely disagree with all the criticism. (P.S. Both original and instrumental versions are here in the UK on iTunes and Spotify - but nothing has been released on I Like Music yet so no .WAVs Sony Music Entertainment here in the UK)

if they put the synthesis vocals and the fallen instrumentation together, well, that would be awesome i mean i can mix the multitracks together but it probably would sound like sh*t I'm actually working on that just for fun. I'm just having trouble getting the tempos right. Because this new version is a little bit slower than the original version.

There is something about this that is just weird to me. Maybe it's just messing with my mind how much 14 years can change a lot, but did her voice really deepen that much or is she singing this in a lower key/register? I also feel like she's singing differently too. I can't really describe it. Either way. Really loving it, just wish the vocals weren't so loud. & I really like the electronic side. I wish there was more of it. I think her voice deepened over time, which is common for women. Personally I thought it was most noticeable between Origin and Fallen & Fallen and TOD. Gives each era its own vocal flavor, for lack of a better expression. XD I really like the new version. I think they could have afforded to make the orchestra a little louder and Amy a little quieter in some spots, but I notice that the orchestra really climaxes at the end and I think the flow is better there. But live? I think this album will blow us all out of the damn water in a live setting. I get that there will always be criticism, and I'm not saying that none of it is merited or that people aren't entitled to their own opinions, but one thing that's been annoying me though is how some fans just aren't into orchestral music and they think that this new version lacks because there aren't guitars. I've seen people say it's too slow but it's basically the same tempo? Lol like chill we're getting a rock album next.

I was upset by how much I didn't enjoy this when I heard it, the vocals just do not sit well with me and I can't pinpoint why. BUT... I absolutely ADORE the instrumental so I'm incredibly happy to own that, especially since Amy made such a big deal about the music itself. I can only hope that this might mean it'll be a "2-CD" type thing, with the instrumentals as the "2nd disc".

Admittedly listened to the youtube versions that were posted and wasn't that excited earlier. But just listened on Google Play and, wow! I think the vocals sounds better mixed on the actual recording and the strings sound much more authentic
So excited for this live! and think this is a good sign of what's to come on the rest of the album. I do think we've heard so many versions of BMTL which is why people's expectations are high for this one...critics will be critics and there are some good remixes out there over the years, but do you think the band has listened to those??? probs not, and this version has so much depth
also Amy's vocals <3
btw, first post! long time lurker, like years, and you all have been great! so excited for Synthesis that had to post

Not sure if this is the place to share it, I just figured some might be interested. The ones that said they like the vocals but they really didn't like the instrumentation. I put the Fallen instrumentation to the synthesis vocals. I kept one little part from synthesis that I liked and also kept the ending of synthesis drive.google.com/file/d/0B44wuHnFA1ATSl9LZlBpb0JvbkE/view?usp=drivesdk

I've been on the creating end of songs and when something isn't mixed properly yet, it doesn't sit well. The youtube vids of the leak had dry vocals and they were too forward, probably because that was the last thing they recorded. It takes a little massaging to get everything to sit just right. When listening to an unmixed song, one should be thinking of the potential sounds - what it could be vs what it already is. That's why leaks make me mad, especially when people don't know that it's not finished yet. They end up prejudging and bashing an unfinished product. But yes, I 100% agree with you. It sounds wonderful now that everything is in its proper place in the mix.

When I listened to it slightly half asleep this morning, i was like eh, its really nothing special. But later i listened to it on Spotify in the car and it is pretty cool, I feel like listening to it in the car as opposed to on my phone, i was really able to hear the mixing and all that. Her voice really does sound amazing and hearing a re recording of a song from 14 years ago is awesome.
However, I really just cant wait for brand new music from them, its just been so long! I feel like with Jen and their new dynamic, they can really produce something extraordinary! I also cant wait for tour to start! Going to the show in Windsor! Anyone on here going to that one??

My opinion might be a less than popular one, but I adore this version. I'm not a musician or a mixer so I'm probably not catching the subtleties, and I'm OK with that. Her vocals are more powerful than ever, and it may just be because I've always wanted to hear re-recordings of older material with her newer, more mature singing stylings that draws me into these vocal pyrotechnics.
My only complaint (and it really doesn't change my overall opinion) is that I wish they would have changed up the song a little bit (beyond stripping rock elements and adding more electro), like tinkering with time signatures, or creating new segments within the songs to extend them a bit. Maybe they didn't change much of this one because it's one of their biggest songs and they didn't want to change it too much?
All that said, I know that it's just one very small portion of a much larger composition and I will reserve my full judgment until I hear it the way it's meant to be heard.
So looking forward to this one. The live show is sure to be epic!

I wasn't too sure at first but after a few HQ listens I'm totally into it. It doesn't feel vastly different but the vocals are awesome and I love the bombastic relish at the end. I like how it flows more like the live version they've been playing recently. My only one small wish is that the "are alive among the deeeeead" bit would be slightly longer before the music kicks in, again like they play live. Just would add a bit more drama. I definitely like it more than being blown away, but I'm very excited to hear what they'll do to less iconic songs. My guess is they didn't want to change this one too much.

Amy's voice has definitely deepened over time. To be honest, I wish she would realise that and stop trying to sing at the heights she used to. I really think it's making her sound very strained, particularly here. I felt exactly the same way about Speak To Me. There's a great quality to her voice now - it sounds...I don't know, fuller or something. And I wish her performances reflected that and utilised the new tones in her voice to their full potential. I want to hear more of her lower, huskier register. And I think now more than ever Amy's at her best when she's exploring the softer, deeper, more ethereal side of her voice.
I've said it before on a few threads now, but she's always belting at the very top of her range and there's really no need for it. I wanted to love this version of BMTL, but all I can hear is the vocal strain.
I can't wait to hear how she sounds on the new songs.

Thoughts..
Good: Absolutely love Amy's vocals! She sounds amazing! The bridge is everything I wanted to hear! Bad: I would like a little more epic orchestra parts and less electronic sounds on it. Loved the verses, but something felt off during the chorus.

I like it better than the Fallen version that's for sure, but not as much as I hoped I would... still wow though.
Also-It's now up on Spotify.

I don't really think it sounds strained on this song, but i certainly agree with you in that her voice is a lot more full and creamy than it used to be. I first noticed this when I listened to the HOB Orlando Even in Death/.

I don't know shit about singing technic and all that jazz, but you have been saying this for a long time and I always agree with you cause I have the same opinion on the way she uses her voice, I love Ev songs, but one thing that bothered me from Ev3 was the fact that she seems to be singing at the top of her capabilities at all time except for a few moments here and there, so vocals-wise I am more into cover songs like Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing, or Going to California, or Love Has no Reason, or some of the songs in Dream Too Much like Stand by Me, cause I can hear the different tones of her voice better, it's calm and pretty when it has to be and goes up when it has to, whereas in the last Ev songs it becomes unnecessarily loud. Idk if it's the mixing like you guys say or she just forces her voice too much, this doesn't help her when she has to sing live either. When the guitars come in it's understandable, but some songs like Speak to Me and Secret Door seem unnecessarily high. They are beautiful songs but I can't fully enjoy them for that reason. Plus like you say, she doesn't need to force her voice because it has gotten so much more mature, it flows naturally when she lets it. So yeah, I would like to hear her lower register more in these 2 new songs and hopefully on the next album too. I'm sorry if I'm talking out of my ass lol I did say I don't know anything about technic, I just give my 2 cents on what my non-professional ears hear.
