gah! Can't wait! This version is very unique for sure. It's hard to be completely comfortable with it as I'm sure we are all to conditioned to it sounding a certain way for sooooo long! Can't wait for more! The two new tracks should be fun! Perfect dream would be wicked for sure!

Why are people discussing Perfect Dream as if it's going to be included on Synthesis? Is this just wishful thinking/speculation or was something confirmed that I missed?

I've noticed a few people mention about the piano part. The demo version of BMTL does not have the piano part, it has a more electronic intro which you can kind of hear in the Synthesis version which makes me believe that Amy is using this opportunity to release the songs the way she's always wanted to release them without someone telling her what to do or that it needs to sound a certain way. Some of the Ev3 songs are probably going to sound similar to the way they intended to sound on the Lillywhite record and I wouldn't be surprised if one or both of the new songs are songs from the Lillywhite record. I think it would be really cool if we got to hear 1 or 2 more of those songs. I still wish that this evolved into something. It's short but I love it. Didn't Amy claim this was Made of Stone? I just really wish I could hear what she's singing. Why are people discussing Perfect Dream as if it's going to be included on Synthesis? As far as I'm aware, the only time Amy has ever divulge anything about this video was when someone asked what she was singing and she said she was just humming. I don't remember whether she mentioned that the music itself is an actual song or they're just playing around. |

I absolutely LOVE this sound. It's so dark and whimsical, much in the vein of anything that Danny Elfman has done. It has a slow, emotional, and, dare I say it, groovy tempo, mixed with the heavy, but sweeping guitars, reminiscent of many Origin and even pre-Origin material. I've been stuck on this song for such a long time that I would probably die if I heard it remade. I don't know what the execs were thinking, but this is totally an Evanescence song, through and through. I've noticed a few people mention about the piano part. As far as 1:38am: it is just an awesome electronic song that was never released. We do not know if it's finished or in a full song form as a demo or not. Amy did not confirm anything about this song other than her not singing anything and they were just playing around. It was a fan theory of this song being part of, or an early demo to, MOS.
@anthony: at this point Perfect Dream being on Synthesis is wishful thinking. However, at this point Perfect Dream is a very possible choice as there are two new songs. Amy also stated that the song that will be released next month is going to be a new one. Wishful thinking at this point but hoping it will see the light of day soon.

In the other hand, I would much prefer to hear the original version of PD rather than one adapted to Synthesis, so I guess I could wait a little more and see if they include it on a new studio album, or release it as a b-side or something. Or we could have both. That version of BMTL with the old instrumentation and the new vocals sounds pretty neat, it's like Amy's voice is finally matching the strenght of the drums and guitars, in the original version her voice was still very young and delicate, it's gotten so much more powerful since then. I think what I like the most about this new version of BMTL is the middle eight. Sounds awesome. EDIT: This little convo made me go straight to that old vid of Perfect Dream and the moment when Lillywhite falls  It makes me laugh every single time. Would like to see him working with Ev again, seems like everyone was feeling very comfortable about that project back in 2009 and then of course WU had to spoil the party. |
