This whole album, every single song, is so catchy and memorable. I seriously can't stop hearing the lyrics in my head and singing it under my breath unconsciously. sometimes it's Stand by me and "Bam Bam Bam"s then a few minutes later the ukulele intro of Rubber Duckie begins to play into my ears, then Amy's vocal on Alice, then at the middle of the night when I suddenly wake up and decide to go drink some water, I can clearly hear Donkey and Chicken!!! The harmonies, rhythms and the happy the atmosphere and Amy and her family's vocals have been everywhere with me in the past 3 days! oO

Just stumbled across yet another article from some shallow, preppy magazine banging on about Amy's 'shocking image change' for this album. Funny how the music barely gets a mention. I suppose it's all publicity, but it's bemusing how much attention is given to the aesthetic. There's a lot of "she's not the same person" and "what went wrong" rhetoric in a lot of these tabloidy magazine articles, which as a fan is a little frustrating. There's very little you can tell from a person's image and actually one of the reasons I admire Amy so much is that, whilst her music and image has evolved over the years, her personality has actually changed very little. You knew you were getting the real Amy from the start and we still are. There's no superficial phases and outright rejection of the past, even if she obviously prefers what's she's doing now to what she's done beforehand. I know I shouldn't care what the media says about artists I care about, but it all seems to be getting dangerously close to "she sold out", which is so completely untrue. In other news. MY ALBUM'S BEEN DESPATCHED (definitely not apprehensively checking the Atlantic weather forecasts on the off chance some freak storm brings down my care package in transit...) Edit: Scrap that, they haven't sent it yet. Just have a planned delivery date. STILL EXCITED THOUGH. I guess there's a part of the media that only writes for shock and like you say takes a very shallow approach of the artist. I hardly ever read articles, reviews whatever about musicians I really enjoy cause I almost always end up punching my monitor , especially when they are doing something different like Amy is doing now, and now I remember I will have to stay away from the internet when/if that new Ev project comes out. There's a fine line between being sincerly critical and just writing out of their asses, like that drama around Amy changing so much and being another person, blah, blah, blah it's ignorant. While it's understandable to be surprised that she released a children's album, it's not shocking to see her trying new waters per se. Since she was with WU she's been hinting at wanting to do other things, not being a one trick pony, etc. And since her contract with WU ended she's been even more vocal about it, actually straight up called out her ex label for rejecting the music they were doing in 2009. She's been collaborating, doing music for movies, and nothing indicates she's going to stop trying whatever she wants to try so if they looked at it from that angle maybe it wouldn't be so shocking. The concept of selling out is super immature as well, for those of us that actually folllowed Amy and the band for years, we know she won't just stop making adult music and become the new XUXA or something. Anyway, I love the drawing it's simple but pretty.
