WHY WOULD YOU TEASE US BY SAYING THAT THERE'S AN EPIC STUDIO VERSION, BUT WE WON'T HEAR IT ANYTIME SOON? This is precisely what ticks me off with Amy sometimes. It's not cute. At all. Maybe I'm just getting really sick of waiting half a decade for new music. I envy other fan bases with bands that release albums every few years, I just want an EP or live DVD during downtime, just to tide me over. Is that REALLY too much to ask for? I agree. Its REALLY not cute. Its irritating as fuck. "so i have this new music and you'll get it...maybe...when I feel like it..." Also, this whole releasing half finished music doesnt fit with her whole "i want it to be perfect before I release it" B.S #ragequit

What the heck happened here? There are new things planned for 2014, amy feels inspired, she even read a bunch of crazy yt comments and felt great because she found out (same as before ev3) that there are still people who love her music, and here - here are people who are pissed because she made an interview. Wow. Last time it was before WYW when we got two articles from James during two days. I dont get this thread.

It's not too much to ask for... but at the same time it's not fair for some fans to continuously demand new music and teasers from her. It's doesn't surprise me that she's hesitant to make any promises from the harassment she gets on twitter. But at the same time, if she's so excited about the projects she's been working on, I wonder why she's holding back from sharing it with us? I don't see the reasoning behind holding back Find A Way indefinitely if it's finished, unless the label drama has something to do with it. *sadface*

Is that REALLY too much to ask for?I feel the same way when I see bands that put out a new album every year or two and still do lots of touring. I wish they had that sort of consistency because quite frankly I don't think the last album was worth the wait very much (And yeah I know they had to scrap a lot of material but even so) I know the "I don't like to do the same thing twice" quote but a new live DVD would have been killer, nothing wrong with it...But on the BRIGHT side, with the lawsuit/label stuff going down, I'm going to be slightly optimistic and say that raises the chances of an album coming sooner than we would have thought.

Oh hey I'm one of those idiots that thought ''Find A Way'' is actually called ''Only I would care''. That piece of the article confused me. Oh and I think I've got used to the hiatus, and those two MTV articles seem too much information for me. I need a moment to breathe here.

I thought the same thing and kinda got excited because there haven't been many songs that don't use the title lately

I agree. Its REALLY not cute. Its irritating as f*ck. "so i have this new music and you'll get it...maybe...when I feel like it..." Also, this whole releasing half finished music doesnt fit with her whole "i want it to be perfect before I release it" B.S #ragequit I wouldn't really categorize the version we have now as a "half finished project" but as she said an "acoustic version." I don't even think there's a studio version of this song rather a demo of the "real" version.

Also, this whole releasing half finished music doesnt fit with her whole "i want it to be perfect before I release it" B.S #ragequit EXACTLY! She's also made it clear that she's a perfectionist and doesn't like to release incomplete material. She's also made it clear that she doesn't like to revisit previous work and ideas. Which is why I believe we will never hear the Steve Lillywhite music as it was intended to be released. So why all of a sudden is she OK with Find A Way only being available as a low quality, live performance? It stinks. It's just a song she wrote that she loved and felt like playing during the Benefit concert. What's wrong with that? She was probably excited and couldn't wait to share a little gift for her fans.

I think you misunderstood. I have no problems with her playing Find A Way, I loved it and I'm glad she shared it with us. What I'm saying is, was it necessary to basically say, 'the original is SO much better but you might never get the chance to hear it.'? I'm just having a little rant, that's all. I don't expect anyone to agree with me. No one has to respond to my posts either, I usually try not to be so negative on here, but something about these interviews has rubbed me the wrong way and I needed to type it up and get it out in the open. I'll say nothing more on the matter if people are that upset by it. I'm sorry for misunderstanding. It seemed to me that you were irritated because she chose to share the acoustic version over the ''epic'' version. And you seemed to compare the release of the Lillywhite songs with the release of Find A Way, which to me, are two completely different things. Anyways, it's ok. I also agree with you that she shouldn't have mentioned about the original song being awesome. That was unnecessary, but unfortunately for us, she loves to tease. Also, James had to know more, and it made that part worse...I guess.

This article from MTV is even more cool than the first one. I really like this James Montgomery, he's an awesome reporter for Amy and Ev. The only thing that bothers me is that the first paragraph is accidentally (?) repeated in the end. Would anyone mind tweeting to James and asking if there's anything he could add about EV's plans for the near future? I think that was deliberate. It was part of the interview and his article, so he has it at the top, but is reiterating that it's an official Evanescence update and putting the quote in full at the bottom for us fans who like to take snippets of information and speculate over their meaning. Lol. I don't mind waiting for music. I'm quite a patient person. I do wish that she knew whether we'd hear Find a Way at all, though. I imagine she's not sure if the movie she wrote it for will use it, and I imagine it might be a bit frustrating for her, but I'd love to hear the studio version (and figure out that last darn lyric lol). I'm just really glad that she's being happy and creative and that this time it's in ways that we'll be able to eventually hear and enjoy.

Wow. At least we have a band that STILL releases material and the members aren't all burnt out on drugs or dead... Geeze... Be grateful that we have a band that understands the consequences of drug use and doesn't use them and are STILL around...
Anyway, did you guys really think that Amy pulled something like Find A Way out of her butt and not have a studio version of it? It's pretty much common sense and expected really... How did you expect Paula to know the backing vocals in the song? And Amy has said "There are songs that even the most Evanescence fans wouldn't know of". Why isn't anyone going apeshit over those? Simple, it's because we haven't heard them and we're not rabid over them... Geeze. Try lowering expectations... Didn't this happen with Disappear? Fans thought it was going to be a ballad because of Amy's TwitVid when she was still writing the song?
Anyway, I think it's amazing that Amy actually goes on and looks at things like this. She isn't active with her fan base, but at least she is active in seeing their responses.

How did you expect Paula to know the backing vocals in the song? It's really not hard to work out backing vocals for a song, and considering how they'd have practiced together, Amy could have easily said "And when I sing this line like this [demonstrates], you sing it like this [demonstrates], cool?" and then practiced it and they'd have been good to go. Lol. But you're right. The Evanescence fanbase is really demanding, and while it is a little mean to tease us, we should still be grateful for all of the things that Amy has given us rather than the things we don't have. We've stuck with the band through thick and thin, but we don't deserve more than they're willing to give. The band is made up of real people, not machines designed to deliver music to us. Evanescence has done us all a lot of good and I think that's enough. That being said, I do understand why some people get frustrated, especially when we're surrounded by people who're constantly getting new material from their favourite artists. Maybe I'm so patient because I'm in the hiatus boat with more than one of my favourites. Lol.

I think we're all above being disrespectful and ungrateful. Please prove me right. Like someone before me said, they don't owe us ANYTHING. Spare the negativity for another part of the Internet. Carry on.

When I first read this I gave Amy the benefit of the doubt and choose to believe that she would provide a release date if she felt she genuinely could. But these are uncertain times to state any promises and there's going to be a storm and quite a bit of dust left to settle with this lawsuit. But with the hope of it yielding positive results (in terms of artistic liberty for Amy) it makes for a perfect time to deliver some good news: that she has material left to release, is aware of the reaction and bears in mind that there's a superior version of an admired song left to share with her fans. It would be awful to have something insubstantially concrete now and end up with a let down if this lawsuit either ends up stalling or worse, potentially harming future projects. Without an outcome, all Amy can truly do is keep our dreams alive in hopes of making them come true if the chains fall off.
I trust she's being vocal lately for a reason. But a promise is binding and it must be stated with confidence which she can't have until this blows over. Let's just hope for a resolution in her favor.
