You know what, f**k it. Ignore my previous posts, I'm deleting them. I thought this thread of all places would understand that we can express our love and our frustrations for the band, but apparently not. It seems I have to keep my views positive or not post at all.

While I don't agree with Danny, I still sorta disagree with your first post which I don't think you should have deleted. What I think you said is that you don't like how Amy talks about unreleased material and that we don't get to hear it. But would you rather that Amy keeps us in the dark and doesn't talk at all about unreleased stuff? EDIT: My English is horrible lol

I thought this thread of all places would understand that we can express our love and our frustrations for the band, but apparently not. It seems I have to keep my views positive or not post at all. Hey, hey, hey, we all have opinions on things, it's alright to disagree with Amy's methods and to have a negative opinion on things. I feel bad because I feel like you saw my post and thought I was invalidating your opinion, which I wasn't at all. There just seemed to be a sudden turn of negativity in the thread and I thought that perhaps a reminder that the band has already done a lot for us might help some people feel less negatively about Amy teasing us with knowledge of a studio version of Find a Way. I'm sorry if I invalidated your opinion in any way, as that wasn't my intent. Please don't feel like your views aren't valued, because they are. What makes the Ev bandom so great is that we're so diverse and feel so differently about so many things. You're allowed to feel annoyed and to post those annoyances just as anyone else is allowed to post their gratitude for the article. I think it was just the sudden influx of grumpiness that took us by surprise.

I come across to this particular sentence both in this and the old threads: "Amy doesn't owe us anything" Actually she kinda does. If you are a public figure, you have obligations to fulfill to crowd that are follwing you. I'm pretty sure Amy is aware of that herself. It's just apparently some fans don't know this. I think it's because they become over-protective about the band or Amy. You know what, it's ok to criticize or question the band you love.

Wouldn't be surprised if she actually Googles herself/Ev songs etc. quite a lot in the down time. I know I would if I had her popularity so it doesn't surprise me that she's admitted she's aware of the Youtube coverage etc. To be honest I wouldn't even be dumbfounded if turns out she ends up reading this at some point, it's all human curiosity after all. As for her trolling us, I can completely understand the frustration for us diehard fans. She is well aware of the responsibility she has with these interviews etc. and she can be a bit of a dick with keeping us in the dark about stuff or suggesting she has stuff that we may never get to hear, but I actually find it hilarious Kind of agree with Danny on this, because I know if I were in her position I'd do the same, f**k doing what the fans want, do what you want - it's your music after all! All opinions though, please don't kill each other over such trivial things xxx

While you are right and there are some obligations that must be filled when you're in a job like this, Amy doesn't owe us anything at all, especially not at this stage in her career. Public figures are still human, and unless they've promised something and not delivered, they don't owe anything to their fans other than gratitude for helping elevate their careers. We know that Amy is thankful for us, she's said it time and time again and she's given us a lot of herself throughout the years. Right now, there isn't anything she needs to be doing. She hasn't promised us anything and so she doesn't owe us anything. If she never had another interview, never played another show, never did anything that would put her on the map ever again she still wouldn't owe us anything. She's a person, and as a person she needs to put herself first sometimes. I find that a lot of public figures end up dehumanised by people who think they owe them something. I'm sure there's a whole bunch of EvFans that got vicious because they thought they were owed 'Your Love' from Legends and Lyrics. I think that, when it comes down to it, it's easier to deal with long band hiatuses when you realise that they don't owe you anything other than their gratitude.

Wow. At least we have a band that STILL releases material and the members aren't all burnt out on drugs or dead... Geeze... Be grateful that we have a band that understands the consequences of drug use and doesn't use them and are STILL around... Anyway, did you guys really think that Amy pulled something like Find A Way out of her butt and not have a studio version of it? It's pretty much common sense and expected really... How did you expect Paula to know the backing vocals in the song? And Amy has said "There are songs that even the most Evanescence fans wouldn't know of". Why isn't anyone going apeshit over those? Simple, it's because we haven't heard them and we're not rabid over them... Geeze. Try lowering expectations... Didn't this happen with Disappear? Fans thought it was going to be a ballad because of Amy's TwitVid when she was still writing the song? Anyway, I think it's amazing that Amy actually goes on and looks at things like this. She isn't active with her fan base, but at least she is active in seeing their responses. We BARELY have a band still. Its sad to see Will asking for work on Facebook just to stay busy between downtimes. It just seems like Amy holds them back. Atleast Tim has his baby on the way, Troy and Amy have their things an no one even knows what Terry is up to. Also, don't get me wrong. I appreciate that Amy is doing interviews and letting us know things but her teasing is irritating. I think we're all above being disrespectful and ungrateful. Please prove me right. Like someone before me said, they don't owe us ANYTHING. Spare the negativity for another part of the Internet. Carry on. We're allowed to have our own opinions and feel the way we feel or is there a new rule I haven't heard about yet? I don't think her teasing is cute, I don't have to agree with everything she does or says just like any other person in the world. The "LeeBots" on this forum need to get it together.

I bet Amy didn't think there would be meltdowns because of this interview.

I bet Amy didn't think there would be meltdowns because of this interview. No one is having a meltdown. Its just normal EvThreads drama between people who freely express themselves and other people who think we need to worship the ground Amy walks on. Neither side is wrong. People just need to agree to disagree and move along.

People just need to realize that Ev members are people too... and that they can cope with their own dramas in their everyday life.

People just need to agree to disagree and move along. Exactly. By the way, don't get me wrong. I'm not one of those obsessive, crazy fans.I don't go around trolling the internet like "make a new music right now, goddamnit". Although it'd be awesome to hear some new music. I'm just being realistic about an artist situation, as I mentioned Amy surely knows that as I do. And getting 2 new interview bits in a week is hard to devour especially when it comes from Evanescence since we all know how they are when they're in between 2 albums.I'm grateful for that. The point is that it's kind of pathetic to put them in godlike position. I have experienced that myself when I criticized them I became the black sheep both here and the old threads. ladylollydragon (Kazlan), it's really out of place but I love your signature

Its kind of irritating. From a fan who doesnt have money to do those things it makes me personally feel left out and under appreciated. Same thing with IYDM being played like what? Three times?

It didn't work, obviously, but I know that's what I was trying to do. Also, thank you. I apparently recorded a video of myself making my eye turn in while I was really tired and forgot about it, so I made it a signature. I think it captures my silliness quite well. Its nice to hear something, its nice to see her doing new things she loves to do but when the only "news" we ever get is "I have this and its really awesome and I'm glad I got to share it with a handful of people who could afford to fly across the country." Its kind of irritating. From a fan who doesnt have money to do those things it makes me personally feel left out and under appreciated. Same thing with IYDM being played like what? Three times? I'm sure that Amy wishes she could have all of her fans come to shows to hear when she plays new things like Find a Way and If You Don't Mind, but unfortunately that can't happen. I know how you feel, though. I live in the state of Australia that no one ever goes to and have to fork out a metric shit ton of money to see anyone live, so even if Evanescence had played IYDM in Australia, I'd have missed it, and there was certainly no way I could pay for flights to the US, accommodation AND the pricey benefit ticket to hear Find a Way. It makes me feel left out too, but I'm really glad that there are people who film these things so I can enjoy them no matter where I am. If it wasn't for those people, I'd miss out on absolutely everything. So yeah, I don't think anyone was trying to derail anyone's opinion or pull any Amy worship on the situation, I think we were just surprised by the reactions to the interview.
