So, I'm confused now... Is this before or after Amy said she's writing new material, but not for Evanescence? With Amy having a baby, I don't think we'll get a new Ev record this year anymore, and that's absolutely for the best... but if there are left-over tracks from the self-titled record, releasing one of those surely wouldn't hurt! =D On page three you can tell that what Amy said was taken from a few interviews from 2011/2012. I don't think it's new at all. As for left over Ev3 songs, there aren't any. They were able to record 16 songs out of the 19 they wrote. We got all 16.

Hasn't the band mentioned that there are quite a few unfinished songs leftover? I remember reading they wrote enough material for like, two or three albums (30 songs) during the intensive writing process, but only a select few made it to the studio.

I remember reading they wrote enough material for like, two or three albums (30 songs) during the intensive writing process, but only a select few made it to the studio. In the one MTV interview/article James Montgomery reported that they wrote 19 songs for Ev3 (the second time around) but were only able to record 16. I think the 30 song thing came from the fact that with the Lillywhite sessions included in said count, it came to about 30 or so songs. But with strictly speaking of Ev3/Nick Session era, 19 were written and 16 were recorded. That's how I go by it at least since 2009 Lillywhite sessions got scrapped. I don't remember reading any interview with the band about 30 songs though. I do remember there was a member on the old EvThreads that kept saying there were about 30 songs but they couldn't source their information.

The Lillywhite session songs are enough for an album themselves, let alone the other material they haven't recorded yet.

Pfff, i don't know how legit all this info is, but if it is, i have to say i'm very optimistic for never-heard-before songs to be realeased if everything works out well with that lawsuit and all those legal implications with Wind Up. But, like some of you said, i don't think we'll have a whole new album this year. With Amy's pregnancy i don't think a tour is part of her plans. But if they actually get to work on new music this year there's a chance we'll get new music for 2015, maybe at the very end of that year. That would be awesome and certainly a way shorter hiatus than i originally expected.
But i don't want to get my hopes too high, just in case.

I am very excited for new Ev material! But is that likely now, what with Amy Lee being pregnant? She probably wouldn't want to be going all over the place promoting...

If in the best case scenario, 2015/2016 will be the year of the new album (possibly) But touring is definitely out of the question at this point.

On page 3, a user gave us some sources as to where the stuff Amy said in this "new" interview were. She said this stuff back in various 2011/2012 interviews. So I don't really think this "new" interview is legit... As per some concerns and advice: I will be closing this thread until we get any kind of official information about a new album. If you have any concerns, questions or protests, please feel free to PM me.
