It's not even about if she does feel the latest album is the best. What kind of publicity and image would she be giving the band saying something like "Oh yeah Ev3 is alright but TOD slays it". You REALLY think saying that is a good idea? LOL, that's true. Imagine it. People would think "why am i supossed to buy this shit? Not even the singer likes it?" But yes, i agree with above posters, i believe her when she says she thinks it's their best album. She seems to be very in love with the songs, the good relationship with the rest of the band, the team work. Probably a lot of those things lead her to believe it's their best album to date. But of course, if she believed honestly that this is not their best album, she would have to be dumb or way too honest for her own good to admit it in interviews.

This thread is so funny....
All Albums have their pros and cons about them... There Is no such thing as "Better album" which one you like more... yes for sure... but thats Your personal opinion Not some fact that can be measured.
Also i don't think amy would say its the better album just cause its the newest thing and she wants every one to buy it. She believes it from her experiences making, and playing the songs from her experience but its still her opinion just like some people are saying Fallen is their favourite..
i personally can't chose i think all of them have their merits and flaws.
But you know what they say...
OPINIONS are like ASS HOLES..... Everyones got one... ;D

I'm sure Ev3 is their 2nd best album, I think TOD is purely perfect <3 I can almost feel the pain the TOD's lyrics *-*

if you guys noticed she wasn't even asked which album is the best in this interview, she added that herself so how could she be lying? plus I remember her saying how much she's proud of the album and how she thinks it's their best before it was even released

^ haha, i think most people love TOD. Is it just me or is the choir the key? mmmh...idk. To me atleast, it's a combination of a lot of things. The choir in some songs, the creepy noises/small sounds here and there, the melancholic atmospheres, the way Amy used her vocal range, the lyrics also touched me at the time, cause i was experimenting similar feelings in my relationship with my ex around that time. Also some very experimental songs for an Ev album at that time, like Lose Control. Very unexpected when i first heard it. I felt like Fallen, while i thought it was a cool album, it was pretty plain and i was expecting something similar from the band, but when TOD came out i thought they really took risks and i liked that a lot.

I love some songs on TOD, but I can't listen to it all the way through as I can with Ev3 without thinking there are some i want to skip. I agree with Amy that this is their best album although I do think they're all special... probably as well this album's era has been accompanied by the least amount of complications which probably makes Amy like it a lot more.

I agree with eerything carolexodus said about TOD.
Also, maybe because in Ev3, she is always screeching, and when you are pumping that through headphones, it gets annoying pretty fast. My ears keep getting fatigued. Plus I'm biased because I love all the Fallen and TOD songs, and while I love a lot of songs on Ev3, I hate MHIB and TOS. Lyrically, it feels like she ran out of things to say, because she just kept going over the same ground with too many of the same words. JMO.
Btw, you can still say that an album is great an that you are proud of it, without having to say it's the best one you've ever done (unless, of course, you truly believe it - and if she does, kudos to her, but TOD wears the crown in my book. What am I saying? I'm not the one being interviewed, and no one asked my opinion! Lol

I'd rather have a new live dvd than the whole tour with only songs of Fallen. Every era had their highlights and shadows in my life but their albums are getting better as they go... just saying. I'm going to hug my box full of Ev CDs now.

This is going to be a super unpopular opinion, and I think I've touched on this topic before...but I identify with Ev3 more than TOD and enjoy listening to Ev3 more because of that. It doesn't make TOD any less special, though.

I agree, don't think we're betraying Ev by preferring one to the other... I think when you listen to songs like MHIB, Disappear, Never Go Back you cannot help but love the new album!
That said, Your Star is definitely their best song to date, I think.

I also think the Open Door is their best work to date, however I find myself as well listening to Ev3 the most lately. I think The Open Door was just absolute perfection.

It's funny how their commercial success declines as their musicianship gets better. It's a shame, really...
