I was talking to a member here earlier via PM giving some encouragement, and sent an Evanescence song. I love how there's an Evanescence song for everything, and thought how we all have certain songs we like to listen to for various reasons. So I think here we can share what songs we like to listen to when we're going through something. Music is therapy, and I hope this can be uplifting for many. ~~~ In my personal experience I go through a lot of emotionally abusive relationships, weather with friends, family, or people who are more than friends... When this stuff stresses me out, my 'anthems' tend to be Going Under and Made of Stone. They both have a theme of finding inner strength, of breaking past the pain and not letting anyone pull you down.

"There's an Ev song for that" That made me think of "There's an app for that" But I agree wholeheartedly. Ev seems to understand everything a person can go through and puts their thoughts and feelings into song.

I use swimming home a lot to because its calm but still raw with emotion, Ev helps me get through a lot because their music has a song for every mood and situation:)

Ev3 came out when I was going through so much. It couldn't come out at a better time. I was wasting away my life for someone who didn't care about me and that song made me remember to love life. "Don't you want to live your life? How much longer are you gonna give in to the fear?" those lines hit me the most. Also, Swimming Home is the song that sends me to paradise. It's just so calming and peaceful and it's so beautiful. It brought a tear to my eye the first time I heard it lol.

"There's an Ev song for that" That made me think of "There's an app for that" That was the idea. ;D And thanks for posting, guys! I love reading the comments and agree with your points. For me, "What You Want" was first released when I was in 10th-grade stress, everyone bugging me about college, about what I want to do with my life, trying to push me this way and that. The lyrics were so encouraging for me.

Ev3 came out when I was going through so much. It couldn't come out at a better time. I know what you mean. For me, my fiance committed suicide in July. Ev had always been there at those critical times in my life. I had already been looking forward to The Other Side and Lost In Paradise from the MTV previews, but then even more. At that point, I guess you could say I was living for the sole reason of hearing this album when it came out.

Oh, God this thread... I could write you a bible explaining how each and every single EvSong relates to my life. I will come back eventually to write something better, after I think it through a little but this is the best line I've read this "There's an EvSong for that", we should like trend it or something, very clever and true.

I agree with BlackenTheDay that the new album is just completely therapeutic. I've found that more often than not, with songs, I'll relate to a few lines from a bunch of different songs, not necessarily the song as a whole. But then, when I'm going through a time where I can relate to those lines, I will repeat the coordinating songs continuously. I bought the new album right in the beginning of a very hard time, and it gave me so much hope.

I disagree.
I was trying to masturbate earlier and I just couldn't find the right Ev song. Clearly, Evanescence doesn't have enough male nudity in their music.

How the self-titled deluxe version relates to my life:
What You Want- I am starting to know what I want in my life, and this song gives me the confidence I need to continue forward with the boldness necessary to continue along the path to the destination I desire.
Made of Stone- We all feel inadequete at one point or another, but I contantly feel like this for several people constantly, and am forced to pretend like I don't care, and thus, "numb the pain till I am made of stone."
Lost in Paradise- I could never possibly explain how I can relate to this song, except that it just feels so right in my heart when I listen to it. A bittersweet, beautiful feeling.
Sick- Well, this one is obvious...
New Way to Bleed- Mostly the inadequecy thing again, being lied to, or lies about me being told. This is my last-straw-on-the-back song, same as with Sick.
I borrowed Amelia's purple. ;D

I disagree. I was trying to masturbate earlier and I just couldn't find the right Ev song. How about Lose Control or Anything for you? Oh right, yeah, Amy's moans, aaahs, and sighs probably won't turn you on, like they turn me on. Great thread, I was thinking it the other day as well, 'ya know, whatever feeling I have, I always can listen to Ev, they'll make me feel better. For my wedding: Anywhere! Suicidal thoughts or just miserable feeling: Missing, End Of The Dream, Breathe No More, Hello Feeling of loneliness/Unrequited love: Solitude, Missing, Exodus, Lithium, Even In Death, Farther Away (and many others) Feeling of injustice/angry: Going Under (used to be my theme song) The Only One, Made Of Stone, The Change, Sick, New Way To Bleed, CMWUS Emptiness: Bring Me To Life, Disappear Happiness: Good Enough, What You Want, Secret Door, Swimming Home, to think about it, almost every song on Ev3 has this happy vibe. But actually, almost every Evsong does make me feel happy/happier, even though it may be a sad song. Weird, maybe it's just because of hearing Amy's voice or whatever. Unless maybe TLSIWOY. If I'm happy, I don't wanna hear that one, cause it'll make me feel terrible.
