Their gothic style and melancholic songs made Evanescence become the young people's favorite band. Their frontwoman, Amy Lee, has talked to Per煤 before their concert on Oct. 25th, at San Marcos Stadium.
According to the artist, her music has been helpful for many people in their hard times. "It's a huge feeling. I've heard so many stories from the people I met at our concerts or the letters our fans sent to me, and some of those stories are painful, but everything's okay in the end."
Furthermore, the singer said she's afraid to die. "You know what? It's a unknown thing. I'm afraid to die cause I've never died. I believe in after-life, so I think I'm gonna meet my loved ones."
Amy admits that she doesn't know anything about Peru. "People told me it's a beautiful country and the fans are hospitable. Also, they told me the food is spicy and I love that." I hope you guys can understand my translation, since portuguese is my main language, so spanish is kinda similiar to portuguese and I did my best. HAHA! Original article (spanish): Per煤21

Most people are afraid to die, so this is unsurprising. But I thought Amy was unafraid of death. Oh well. Not really much new information going on here, but some nice tidbits. Thanks for posting this.

I'm weird, because I'm not mainly interested in the fact that Amy's afraid to die (which means that she's probably still happy), but more that she really loves spicy food, that's our girl

Ohh I hope she gets some ceviche! Peruvian ceviche rocks! Even though she tweeted the other day that she was kind of stressed with so many interviews, I think she's always warm and polite with foreigns interviewers ... It doesn't seem to be tired or sick of so many interviews You gotta love her!

I wonder what made been afraid to die? In one of the old school Evanescence interviews she said that been sisters death made her realize life is short and avenue isn't afraid of death. Lol. Well I guess people have their experiences that instill fear into to them. I know I have.

That's weird in a sense. Of course as Prince said it's a gold quote. Of course where afraid of the unknown and well, you only die once on a life time (beside be brought back when your heart stops and stuff like that. But she does seem fearless about death, when she takes on such songs as Swimming Home.

Or perhaps she's accepted that everyone dies eventually, but that doesn't make it any less scary, because you never know when someone's story will end.

lol, i actually cracked up when i read that for the first time^^ I'm not an afterlife believer, either, my brother is into all this karma stuff, but it all sounds too much like a science fiction movie to me. lol So, i pass. A lot of people are afraid to die. I don't usually fear my own death, though, not now anyway, i fear my relatives death, though. I'm very scared of my mom, brother, grandphater and my cat Matilde dying, because they're all i have in my life. I wouldn't mind that much if i die, but i wouldn't be able to stand one of them dying (Ok, maybe i'd get ove my cat's death sooner or later, hehe) The only thing that scares me about death is suffering physical pain. I hate pain. Othe than that, i wouldnt mind if i die tomorrow. Since i don't believe in afterlife, i just think that death must be like sleeping without knowing you are asleep, and never waking up. Complete non-existence for the body and the mind. Sounds good to me. Just my two cents there.

I don't know. No one knows. It's life's biggest mistery. I can't say I believe/I don't believe in afterlife because there's no way to prove it. So, I can say that my possition about it is completely neutral. It's kinda scarry, though. I too fear my relative's deth. And to be honest, I'm not fond of pain at all, so those would be the things I fear, Just like Carolexodus said.

If you're a little bit manic/depressive... this is something that can continuously change. One day you maybe wish to die, the next day you're afraid of it. Because there's no afterlife.
