The difference between those old songs is I don't think that we will ever hear them cause they're so old, and Amy probably is embarrassed by some of her earliest work. We're lucky to have all the old EP music that we have. Amy will mention IYDM every so often as a song that she says she likes.

^ 2 weeks ago and before the stash box, IYDM wasn't so different than those songs (imo). I really didn't think we'll be able to hear it one day and always thought that maybe its one of those works that she thinks is not good enough to be released. anyway, that stash box question made my hopes high. I'm sure she will let us hear it soon enough.

When they sign a contract, any songs they write are half owned by the publisher, And any RECORDING of that song under the label is the label's property. Even if Ev wants to release those demos, they cannot legally do so. If they rerecord it on their own time, with their own money, they would probably be able to release them.
Remember when Ben wrote his solo album after he left Ev? The label decided to shelve it and wait until they thought it was a good time to release it. Ben was distraught because he worked so hard for it and wanted it out there as soon as possible, but he was legally bound to keep it under wraps. The same thing happened with these songs.
When they said TOD was fought for by Amy, all those songs would have been shelved had the label not agreed to release it. It's complicated and dumb and who knows what their strategy is for these songs, but because Ev signed the contract, they have to comply ...

I don't understand why some people are saying we've had 17 songs for the new album. Anyway, I think we have a better chance of hearing If You Don't Mind more than Your Love; unless L&L will be releasing the song independently from the show, which probably isn't likely.

Exactly. There is no 17th song which is why I don't understand why, I think, two posters said there were 17.

Exactly. There is no 17th song which is why I don't understand why, I think, two posters said there were 17. The band wrote about 30 songs for this record, Will said it once, he also mentioned he liked a heavy song titled "Never Again" (maybe that's the 17th song the people are talking about?) but Amy said it wasn't working out... here's the interview if anyone of you want to check it out: CLICK

I don't know why I've ever thought that IYDM was a piano-driven song, maybe it's because of that fake preview someone uploaded on YouTube back in 2007. Now we have the original preview, it seems to be the heaviest TOD era song.

As pissed off as some of you probably are...at least we have a preview, which was more than we were ever expecting to hear of IYDM. I wasn't expecting to hear that song at all, ever, before finding the clip. Something is better than nothing.

Yeah, and the video with the previews was removed from YT saying there was 110 Management (Ev's manager company) copyright on it.
