With her pitch black tresses spinning around and her layered red and black ribbon skirt and boots matched with leather and lace, she is the Baba Yaga of the big metal melodrama, casting spells on devoted fans who clutch their hands together and cry along to every tortured lyric. Delivered at a volume so loud that Lee’s skirts were blowing in the sound waves helped land the point that this band does drama exceptionally well.

Evanescence, fronted by lead singer Amy Lee, closed the nearly-sold-out show with a solid performance of fan-favourite hits and new cuts from its recently released album The Bitter Truth.
