"Evanescence, the iconic rock band fronted by lead vocalist and pianist Amy Lee, lead guitarist Troy McLawhorn, bassist Emma Anzai, drummer Will Hunt, and rhythm guitarist Tim McCord, brought their “The Bitter Truth” tour to the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on March 9th, and it was a night that will not be soon forgotten. With a setlist that included a mix of old favorites and new hits, the band showcased their incredible musical talent and emotional depth, delivering a powerful and unforgettable performance. One of the highlights of the night was “Lithium,” a haunting and emotional ballad that showcased Amy Lee’s incredible vocal range and emotional depth. As she poured her heart out on stage, the audience was transfixed, hanging on every note and every word." nysmusic.com/2023/03/11/evanescence-unforgettable-night-of-rock-in-toronto/"Evanescence had been touring non-stop since the release of their fifth studio album “The Bitter Truth” in 2021. During that time, guitarist Jen Majura left the band with bassist Tim McCord moving over to guitar and Sick Puppies’ Emma Anzai taking over bassist duties. The Bitter Truth was one of my top three albums of 2021 so I was definitely looking forward to seeing some of these songs performed live! Evanescence kicked off their show with the lead track from their last record “Artifact/The Turn” and received the expected loud welcome from the crowd. Their set was exactly the high energy performance we’ve come to expect from this veteran band. Lead vocalist Amy Lee sounded as good as she ever did as they then went right to the next track on the album “Broken Pieces Shine”. Half of the set ended up comprised of songs from “The Bitter Truth”, with some of their big hits breaking things up. They didn’t end up playing “Far From Heaven”, my personal favorite song on the album but I suppose they can’t play the whole record. The band didn’t use the runway at all but a highlight was when Amy Lee went to the end of the runway to sing the first verse of “End of the Dream”. It was truly beautiful. They closed the set with fan favorites “My Immortal” and “Bring Me to Life” from their debut record “Fallen”. I don’t think we could have asked for more." justonemoreconcert.com/2023/03/09/muse-and-evanescence-were-incredible-together-at-the-scotiabank-arena/
