To those who think the mixing is bad, it's quite the opposite. This took three listens and it's hitting me harder, definitely TOD/Ev3 vibes leaning on Ev3 more mixed in with 90s grunge. AND WOW the ending! The song is crazy and the end reminds me of something Harley Quinn would sing.

There's def piano. In the bridge but buried in all the other instruments, as usual. Then a little bit at the end (she posted herself playing that piano part on social media).
I hope in the better quality one, you can hear what she's saying bc it sounds muffled again. Nick just needs to mix it better or something.
And now that that's all out of the way, I love it! Sassy as all f**k

O.....k then. I was not expecting that. Very interesting song on first and second listen. Some very odd lyrics from Amy in some places. I like it...but I find some things a little strange in some places. Lemme digest it more tomorrow. It’s definitely a grower but I’m intrigued by it for sure.
Ok I just had another listen before bed on some other headphones and was getting more into it. What a crazy song! Very different from what we are use to.

Oh. Ok. I wasn’t expecting that.
I’ve only listened once, but first impression is I think I kind of love it. It’s so different to what I think of when I think of Evanescence, even more so than the other songs we’ve heard so far. It feels like a homage to some of Amy’s influences from the 90’s, it feels like what would happen if Garbage and Muse had a sassy baby.
The only thing I feel like is missing a tiny bit is the lyrics. I expect deeper and more poetic lyrics from Amy, but I guess the point of this song is to NOT do that, so I can’t really complain about it.
I’m not going to lie, I hope we get something symphonic and elegant and epic from the band in the future. But if they’re going to experiment on this record, I’m glad they’re doing it this way. 4 songs so far with completely different sounds and all of them still somehow Evanescence. They really have figured out every little part of what’s made them as a band, dissected them, and then brought them all to the forefront by building whole songs around them.
With every song I get more and more interested in hearing what the rest are going to sound like.

Amy said TBT is meant to be a "deconstructed Evanescence" album, so... no depressing lyrics. It feels like it's time for them to have fun. Ev3 was so full of anger because of Wind-up being a pain in the arse. And TOD, as much as I love the album, is a breakup album but also about finding a way to break free.
I'm in love with Yeah Right and now I'm excited for the whole album!!

Not in this song anyway, but considering past interviews about TBT and some of the band members' experiences over the past couple years, I'll be surprised if there are no darker or sadder lyrics.

How... every new track they put out is better than the last one. The very end of this song was unexpected, but so perfect. I love this one!

This track is really unexpected, but I really love it. Still coming to terms with the chorus, but the verses are k i l l e r. Love the lyrics.
Edit: Oh, and a guitar solo! Yes!

First listen, really digging the chord progression in the chorus. Really interesting vibe. Not so sure about the verses yet, although I like how the verses and the chorus are in different worlds - I like that dynamic. As usual the bridge is great (they're incapable of writing a bad bridge!), I love how they included a guitar solo too, that was unexpected, although as with the breakdowns in the other songs, I feel like they could and should have done more with it. It just comes out of nowhere with this really rich tone and then fizzles out before it's really given a chance to shine. Loving the ethereal feel of the outro and Amy's soft vocals there - I think the outro bit is my fav part so far.
In short, not knocking me out of the park just yet, but there are some sections I think are really interesting and creative, and I like that.

Well, with Amy losing her brother there’s bound to be ONE song that is her dealing with that.
