Amy is a smart woman, talking about politics without choosing sides, her message is just: VOTE Well she's expressed her opinion on Trump several times now, so in essense she has chosen. Like Amy has said, it’s about basic right and wrong at this point. Trump has done so much wrong that to be defending him now makes you look pretty bad. I won’t take things too off topic so that’s all I’m gonna say on the matter. i absolutely LOVED this video. So powerful, uplifting, a level of angry and sassy that I have MISSED seeing. But it’s a productive anger that you know will propel into so many good things.

Like all the songs in this era, I'm usually "eh" when I hear it the first time, and then it kind if grows on me. But then I see the music video and WOWWWWWW! Yeah, I really love this song now. Also, Eric needs to do all their music vids from now on. I'll give PR Wasted on You and ok, maybe The Game Is Over (I think it bc it has the Purge and It vibes lol). But Eric, totally. 😍😍😍

Nothing in my statement was in defense of him. Anyway, great video, really represents the message of the song.

An Evanescence video released in true 4K and shot in anamorphic aspect ratio? Be still my heart.

I didn't know the video was shot in 3 separate cities! I assumed it was filmed before restrictions started. I'm so glad they were able to get this video done-it's certainly the best TBT video.
Also one of the cities being Minneapolis really adds some poignancy.

She's made her choice about how she feels about Trump, but her feelings expressed are not politically-oriented unless one considers human rights and freedoms to be appropriate grounds for politics. I love that she's keeping her opinions about this as nonpartisan as she probably can- nothing about republicans vs democrats, they're encouraging all to vote, and her comments about him are not related to things like his platform's stance on healthcare or tax policy, but about things like humanity, rights, and respect. I'm sure she's only expressing the surface, but as she said, silence on these matters is its own statement. The video does a pretty good job capturing the rage and frustration.

I think this is their best music video since the Open Door era. VERY well shot and put together. Everyone looks great. Also... I'm really into Amy unleashing those natural curls. The video honestly makes me like the song more. (Use My Voice was probably my least favorite of the 3 songs we have so far, even though I love the message.) A+

Love the video. My partner watched it with me and said “she looks ... different.” (In a bad way). I told him he missed the point. She’s saying she will use her voice. It isn’t about makeup or hair or fancy costumes. It’s about the message. It’s right there in the song’s lyrics. I think Amy looks amazing anyway, but I love that she is brave enough to film something like this with no makeup/hair done/costume. It’s not just about politics for me but also the final middle finger to all the people who have focused on her looks all these years rather than her talent. I love seeing the strong, confident powerful woman she’s become. I saw an early live performance of BMTL randomly before watching the UMV video ... they’re like two completely different women. She is such an important role model to today’s young people.
My favourite part of the video is definitely the bridge, and then the lights start to flash, Amy’s face flashing on the screen etc ... very powerful visuals. I’m excited to see more videos like this. As a few people have said, definitely the best since TOD.

Yeah, my goal here is that there’s not a misunderstanding and there’s not that one person that wanders in here with the wrong idea about the message being sent across. Amy made herself clear, but politics get incredibly emotional and can cause a sort of tunnel vision.

It's a weird one for me. Objectively, I think this video is genuinely one of the best they've ever done. Eric's done it again and I'd love to see him direct more. Everything just fits together so, so well.
And I can't relate to any of it. I feel like that's probably a good thing since the whole concept evidently targets groups fighting back against oppression, so it's probably a pretty good sign that deep down I feel free and liberated, but I feel like this is probably one of the videos I've related to least. It's just such a weird feeling because it looks so good, and it's so well done, but it just has no emotional impact on me whatsoever. Which is weird because the song did initially.
My brain tends to work in cycles and I'm on a bit of a low right now (when it's usually very difficult for anything to have any kind of meaningful positive impact on me), so it's possible I just need to watch it in a different frame of mind. But right now it just feels... hollow... which is a shame because there's obviously been so much passion thrown into every aspect of the music and video. I guess it's just not passion I can empathy with right now.

This song isn't something I ever expected Evanescence to create. The whole meaning behind it and this being the first time opening up about the current state of the world- it's such an incredible way to open up that dialogue. It's a weird one for me. Objectively, I think this video is genuinely one of the best they've ever done. Eric's done it again and I'd love to see him direct more. Everything just fits together so, so well. I guess it's just not passion I can empathy with right now. It seems bittersweet. There is just so much going on in the world that this song and video vibe with and it's sad that you can't share in that empowerment, but it's great that you don't experience the oppression that this speaks to. I'm sure TBT will be full of other songs that you can better relate to. Hopefully you never have to empathize with it, but if you ever hit that point, this one might be an explosion of new feelings.

anto Very eloquently put, as ever. I think you're right. The music we connect with most will almost always be music that speaks to our personal experiences. It's there to catch people when they fall, and this feels like one of those. Part of me didn't want to express my feelings on it because I don't want to put a negative spin on something that clearly means a hell of a lot to a lot of people, but I also know there are a lot of people who feel a similar way to me who don't know how to vocalize that without coming across as invalidating the strongly-felt passion a lot of fans are feeling for something that speaks to them a lot. The thing with artistic work that cuts deep and hard is it's very focussed, so you'll either feel it completely or not at all. I'm afraid I'm in the latter group, but I think I get why for some it is so impactful.

(sorry guys - this will be unpopular as anything)
Personally, I hope they never do anything that "takes a political stand" again. I see it as Ivory Tower bollocks. It's funny how it's trendy to go on about how "rich/old/white/institutional/blah-blah-blah" people are holding everybody down - but when celebrities, or rich, or famous, or otherwise idolized people get up in their ivory towers with their millions of dollars and fancy houses, and their "platforms" and tell people how they feel and what they'd do and all of that... I don't know. It's so detatched.
Don't get me wrong. I'm certainly not against success - at all. But to me right now, there's a massive double-standard that I see. All the 'commoners', and the poor, and the hard-done-by are down here getting in fights and riots and civil unrest. And the social divide is widening more and more every day because everyone has to be in their own special little box of oppression; yet famous musicians and actors and all, step out of big studios, and big houses, to tell you wrong from right - and then go back inside - and people love it and agree with 'em and think these people are their friends and all, in large part due to idolatry.
I think psuedo-political influence from idols is one of the most destructive aspects of modern society

I don’t think there’s anything controversial about wanting the truth and telling people to vote.
