princeofpersia "I want it all or I want nothing at all" omg haha! Saw this on Twitter and thought it was a fan going on about the music video not being out yet. Love that part ❤️ one of my most favorite lines in the lyrics.

Has anyone else seen the preview to the MV? How do we feel about another homemade video? I thought it was going to be animated judging by the thumbnail on they’re YouTube. I don't mind a homemade video considering the circumstances but the preview looks kinda bad ? Like I feel we are not getting the same quality as with WOY but I hope I'm wrong !

Looks like they’re going in a very weird direction with this video.

They wanted to make it different from WoY and with quarantine there are not many options really. Let's see what they come up with.

The whole vibe reminds me of Bjork actually. She plays by no one’s rules.

I would also prefer more in her lower register. Personally, it's just more my vibe these days, or a nice blend of both. *thinking "now I will tell you what I've done for you..." My thoughts exactly, her I loveeee her lower register and really hope she uses it in one or two songs this record. I don't think it's really been used since TOD, right? WRT the video I guess it makes sense that they're doing another home made one since who knows when they'd be able to film together in person again. I'd bet there will be a "professional" shot vid for one of the songs in a later batch.

I enjoy her covers a lot cause she uses her lower register more, I enjoyed how soothing Cruel Summer sounded. Lately with Ev it seems like she feels the need to go very high and intense, even when the song is not a loud, rock song she pushes herself a lot, but sometimes less is more. Listening to the game is over again and I like the pre-chorus more than the chorus, anyone else?

She started doing this on Ev3 so I wonder if the approach Nick took with the production made her change her way of singing to sort of compete with the instruments, if that makes sense, or if it has to do with having a havier sound in general with the addition of new members. Or maybe she just realized that her voice became more powerful as time passed and wanted to exploit that, stylistic choice I guess. It does give her a more emotional sound, maybe that is what she is going for, but sometimes gets tiring to listen to and some songs dont really need it.

I mean, she must know who tiring it is to sing her repertory of songs live. I'd be ok with just her trying different singing methods (less high and long notes)

I'm hoping to hear even more and different styles on the rest of the songs!

I'm hoping to hear even more and different styles on the rest of the songs! It's more that Amy spends a lot of timing really belting out at the top of her range, or her chest voice. I do think a big part of it is singing against the backdrop of the band - the music is loud and dramatic, so Amy makes her voice that way too, which don't get me wrong, is something I really enjoy. There were a few TOD songs in particular though, like The Only One, or Snow White Queen, or even Fallen stuff like Going Under, where Amy really explored her lower, quieter register, and I always found it spell-binding, menacing, and captivating in a whole different way. On Wasted On You and The Game Is Over, it's really full on for almost the entirety off both songs. Then again, they are the first singles, so I'm guessing they're going to release the most 'Evanescence-y' songs as singles. I'm just hoping that the album has the variety that the band have been talking about. I always much preferred the band's quieter, more experimental moments (Missing, Lose Control, Like You, Swimming Home, The Only One, all that great stuff!)

I actually find that her belting voice sounds much more healthy and like it's coming from deeper down in this song. I can hear the Synthesis Live techniques she used on tour to get through that setlist. Especially during the "Change me into something I believe in". In fact the way she reaches down to bring those notes out slightly distorts the articulation of the words from the sheer amount of air moving.
