Evanescence star Amy Lee ‘blown away’ by Scottish fanbase after 20 years of touring the world

EVANESCENCE star Amy Lee admits she is still blown away by her fanbase in Scotland after nearly 20 years of touring the world.

The rocker, 37, will return to her favourite country next year alongside fellow big-hitters Within Temptation as part of a blockbuster partnership.
And the Bring Me To Life and My Immortal singer admits she still gets goosebumps any time she gets on a Scottish stage. Amy says: "It is the coolest. The atmosphere is always awesome and we are blown away by it.
"It doesn't matter how often it happens, it always comes as a surprise.
"It's a gift that we get to travel all over the place and visit places like Scotland where I might have never had the chance to go had it not been for Evanescence.
"I like to experience another country and culture, eat their food, then get on stage."
"The extra gift is them knowing our music when we perform and knowing we have touched them in some way.
The singer said performing in Scotland gives her goosebumps
"That's huge to me and we are very blessed to do something so special."
When Amy and the band play Glasgow's SSE HYDRO on April 28, they aren't coming alone.
After years of calls to join forces, they are finally teaming with Dutch rockers Within Temptation on the tour.
But Amy reveals the two bands had never even crossed paths before agreeing to work together.
She says: "I'm super excited about that it's a big first for us.
"Something that is surprising is that we've never played together before, we just played our first show together a month ago which is crazy.
"Everybody seems shocked by the fact we have never met or hung out, for some reason it just hasn't happened.
"But when we met it really clicked. I got to see them live for the first time at a show we played together recently and we loved it.
"Being with a big epic band like them gives us the opportunity to play in much bigger venues and allows us to put some cool s**t on the stage."

The Evanescence/Within Temptation tour is heading to the SSE Hydro on April 28.
