Does anyone know what party (if any) she associates herself with. The only website that divulges any information regarding this topic is here, and all it says is that she finds the whole thing "stupid" and she thinks Arnold Shwarzenegger is funny. She's typically pretty closed off about this stuff so I doubt there's much information out there on this topic. I'm not trying to judge, just want to know. Thanks.

Very few people do. She's very much an individualist so is pretty averse to the idea of preaching any particular ideology to people (why get all preachy when you dislike being preached to?). It's a difficult one to work out through her actions/words, too. I feel like she's maybe a tiny bit left wing/libertarian, but with some appreciation and acceptance of the opposite, and obviously she's had a Christian upbringing. She's a pretty open-minded gal really. I doubt she really 'associates' with any party, but probably has a tendency to vote a particular way. Just keeps it to herself and doesn't get too heavily involved. I think the feeling is "if I were a strong supporter of 'x' party and the person I looked up to and relied on came out as the opposite, would it hurt me?" Answer, probably. And I feel like that's more or less her public standing. But yeah, anybody's guess really haha

She's pretty progressive and open-minded. She's an activist in many regards working to increase awareness, especially on some important social issues (sex trafficking, mental health, etc.). She's supportive of (if not an advocate of) diversity-- especially seen from her apparent public support of homosexuality. She sees the beauty of people from all over the world and enjoys basking in other cultures. She seems pretty much "pro-everyone". It's smart for her to avoid having a strong political presence and maybe she truly is independent in her political ideology (the whole "partisan" thing is stupid and honestly pretty dangerous if you really break it down).
Her moral stance is strongly aligned with the liberal or libertarian moral foundations...probably more liberal than libertarian. While she does seem to be high in liberty/freedom, she also seems high in care and fairness/equality, more closely fitting the liberal profile. Considering her apparent xenophilic nature and appreciation of diversity, she doesn't seem too high in ingroup loyalty, a correlate of political conservatism, so it's safe to say she's probably more liberal than conservative.
My guess is that morally, she's probably similar to libertarians, but most closely aligned with moderate liberals. In any case, she seems like she can respect opinions from most of the political spectrum.

I think this pretty much nails it. She's a liberal/progressive with libertarian elements. She's also a pragmatist. I get the feeling that she's pro-change but would often rather be a part of the change/instigator than rely on the claims of a political party. It's all pretty relative too. I'm fairly sure she's a little more socialist/left wing and a little less libertarian than me, but it's always a pretty subjective thing to gauge.

As a disabled, bisexual trans individual, I've understandably been afraid to find out what her true views were on particular subjects. But I try to reassure myself that if Amy ever came across something she didn't understand...she would try and learn about it rather than live with whatever assumptions she'd been given about it already. She strikes me as the sort of person who's always striving to be better than she used to be and that doesn't just apply to her career.

Sorry, just my opinion, but why does it matter? I think it's really smart for her to stay mum on the whole ordeal. I love Amy as a person. She is so cute and sweet. I also love her as an artist. I admire her creativity and she has been an inspiration to me since I was twelve. When we start focusing on this that's where the lines get drawn and we separate from one another.

There are plenty of interviews where Amy describes herself as somewhat of an outsider at school. The thing about outsiders is that we tend to have a little more empathy for those in a similar position (that or we become meglomaniac dictators, and I really don't think Amy's one of those haha!). Society is still pretty hostile to LGBT and disabled people on the whole (as you well know) so I feel like she'd be pretty cool about it and would probably even break with her public persona of impartiality and stick up for you if someone started attacking you for those reasons. Can't remember the interview, but there's the famous moment where a lesbian/bi girl asked her out and she said something like "everbody's cool". That doesn't sound to me like somebody who would take offence at someone because of their gender or sexual orientation.

No, I really don't think so, but I keep the fear with me because that's what actually keeps me safe.

Because humans are naturally curious Completely agree though. This is honestly one of my favourite qualities about her. Whilst everyone else in the spotlight is going "vote for this" "do this" "don't do that" she's going "you know what? Just be you. Whatever that is. Do what YOU want to do, not what everyone else pressures you to do. There's only one of you. Keep making the world interesting". I admire that. There's so little of that in this world. I'm not saying people shouldn't have opinions and feel free to express them, but sometimes amid the noise it's nice to have someone who just says. I've got my views, you've got yours, let's go get drunk (I may or may not have personalised the last bit).

I can totally get with that, unless said views involve disrespecting or harming other people but I think that's a topic for another thread.

I agree with pretty much everything everyone has said in this thread, but there's a fairly popular photo of Amy (which I can't find at the moment) that includes an image of the current resident in the White House on the wall behind her. Why might that be?

Why might that be? That's interesting! Would be interesting if anybody's able to find that picture. I'm very much one to consider context before passing judgement on anything (I'm an historian, which is probably where that comes from haha ). Amy strikes me as being fairly apolitical so I can't really see her waving the flag for any major political leader unless they were actively pushing for something specific like mental health, epilepsy treatment/research or fighting human trafficking (all subjects she's very involved in charity work for), but it's possible she was visiting someone who is pro-Trump when the photo was taken? I know her family has Confederate roots and there is a slight link between former Confederate states and key Republican strongholds - although my knowledge of American politics and history is sketchy at best - so it could be closer to home in that respect? Will be interesting to see this if anyone has it ( provided, of course, that any discussion that follows is kept respectful and civilised)

The image above is from the photo shoot by gettyimages.com in which Amy is participating in a finger painting session. When seen from slightly more to her left, the image on the wall directly behind her is clearly a photo of the current resident in the White House (hairstyle and color evident). I couldn't find the actual image at that angle, though I tried to do so from various sources. Does anyone know from just when this shoot occurred?

Its an old photo, from back in Trump’s TV show days, if I remember correctly. He’s always been an awful person, but at least back then you didn’t hear about it as much and he wasn’t in a position of extreme unfettered power. I don’t know if this was her old house or something. But I don’t think being in the presence of a singular photo that’s barely visible is some sort of secret signal that...Amy is against abortion, for example. There’s not enough information to confirm something one way or another. I just make the judgments on Amy’s character based on what I know, and what I see. She’s extremely compassionate, loves animals, and has even swooped in to shoulder our pain despite having her own weighing her down. She’s all for female empowerment, and is known for supporting other female creators like herself. Politically that feels quite liberal, and for the most part is against what the right stands for as far as I’ve seen, having interacted with various online Nazis myself. A story for another day, really. Amy’s always willing to learn, to grow, and change her viewpoint if new information presents itself. Everybody’s Fool is probably the best example of this. And her relationship with older songs such as My Immortal and Bring Me To Life. Hope this clears some things up.

In all honesty, I wasn't looking for any sort of clarification beyond just when the photo shoot occurred. I know it's an old photo. I also know just how Amy supports humanitarian causes, specifically with regard to Robbie's epileptic condition, etc.. Further, I'm making no judgments ... on anything. I asked a question; thanks for answering.
