I have a rather dumb question but I just had to ask! I'm really liking the look of the box set however I don't play piano and I can't actually read sheet music so what I want to know is what does the box set has over the deluxe edition other than the sheet music book? does the box even contain the instrumental version of Synthesis? does the deluxe edition contain the photo gallery booklet? I just don't know which one I should get Differences between Deluxe Edition and Limited Box Set. Deluxe Edition is a digipack containing both cd and dvd. The dvd includes the documentary, 5.1 surround mix of the album, the instrumental version of the album, photo gallery, the full score. Limited Box Set: includes the standard edition of the CD, the dvd inside the scorebook selection of Bring Me to Life, The In-Between and Imperfection. The Dvd includes the same thing as above. This is all included inside an awesome box. This is more so for collectors but still a nice thing to have even if you aren't a collector. so the box set basically contains everything that's in the deluxe edition! in that case I'll get the box while I can thanks for the reply, guys

The vinyl has been delayed another fortnight. Meanwhile in central Europe you can buy it in store. I bet fixing the fuckup includes importing it from Germany, which takes time.

The vinyl has been delayed another fortnight. It still says December 8th on Kings Road. Edit: Barnes and Noble, Target and Bull Moose also say December 8th.

Well, the email I got from The Music Vault indicated this was a worldwide manufacturing delay. So it's likely those sites will change their release dates too.

I cancelled my order with The Music Vault when they said they couldn't do the boxset and have already received my vinyl and box set from Germany so they are full of it.

Having somewhat worked in audio alongside my husband who is a producer/mixing engineer, I think, really, if anything, the issue is not in her performance. Her performance is incredible. It is in the fact that the vocals are overcompressed and dry, and what is unnatural about it is the lack of reverb. That’s why we are hearing every mouth noise, scoop, imperfection, etc, overly emphasized. So, in this album, we have an imagery of her singing in front of an orchestra. The thing is, when our brains think orchestra, we expect huge chamber room with lots of reverb, so in order to have Amy’s vocal sit correctly in the mix, we expect to hear her vocal with the same reverb parameters. Having it be so dry makes it blatantly obvious that she sang it in a different setting and the mixing engineer plopped it in the middle of the instrumental track - almost like she sang karaoke to it in a dry booth. And of couse, the vocal volume is a little too high, so it’s hot in the mix. Does this make sense? I'm an amateur producer so this makes perfect sense. I think it sounds acceptable on certain stereos/systems. For my taste, the vocals are too loud and dry in the mix, as you said. I also think the dynamic range overall has been too compressed. So I did my own "remixing" in Audacity using the 5.1 surround mix. I definitely recommend trying it. The front and rear stereo tracks separated are mixed with better dynamic range, and you can reduce the vocal (center) track so that she doesn't sound so loud over everything else. The only caveat is that the 5.1 mix comes from a DVD, so it's encoded as lossy Dolby Digital. But I dunno, I think it's cool to make your own little personal mix of the album that fits your taste. (It's also interesting to just listen to the rear channels isolated )

Do you guys think they'll do a Synthesis part II album or is this like a one time only sort of thing?

I shouldn't rant but I just wonder what is wrong with those kids in blabbermouth? like ik not everyone is gonna like the band but if they really hate and want to diss amy and the band so badly they could at least put an ounce of thought and creativity to their insults. I know I shouldn't be bothered and but it's like every single one of them type they're brain dead on every new Synthesis related article, sheesh

Sad really. The up side is Synthesis is really well received, even with some usual metal elitists. I know this isn't a metal album but I think Amy is earning respect for being herself and not backing down.

I agree. except a few, Rock/metal websites were so positive about it. it also reached #1 on Billboard's top Rock albums chart even though it was not even a rock album.

So no, not 4th No.1, but it was their 4th album on top 10 list of the Billboard 200 These are pretty nice numbers for a remaster album imo.

Sorry to take it off topic, but what do we think of Weight of the World on last night's setlist?
Do you think it was an outtake from the album? And do you think we'll see any others?
