Honestly though, based on what I've seen in interviews, all the other band members are super easygoing and seem to really respect Amy as an artist, so they seem to be in a position where they're happy that she's Commander-in-Chief. And fortunately for everyone involved, they have a lot of different skills to utilize. Now more than ever, they look like such a happy band and I'm sure that'll shine through in the upcoming fall tour, no matter what instruments everyone's playing or what the music sounds like!

It's pretty standard amongst a lot of people in the rock/metal community (especially metal elitists). It's the idea that you excel at your "one calling" and that's it. In the same way that a band should be a maximum of two guitars, a bassist, a drummer and a vocalist and there shouldn't be any other members or instruments. If there's a girl in the band they can only possibly be a clean vocalist because apparently girls can't play instruments or scream. I think it's this closed minded mentality combined with the fact that a lot of people have got it into their heads that Amy's driving ambition is to kick everyone out of the band and become the centre of attention. There's a lot of "well, she's been building up to this for ages, she's finally kicking out the band" rhetoric floating around, mostly from people who hate Evanescence, or who liked Fallen, but hate Amy, because this seems to legitimise their hatred. You then get fans who hear people shouting about this, they see a project wherein there's apparently no place for Jen, Tim, Will and Troy to play the instruments they traditionally play in the band, and this is what happens. The reality is that they're all very talented and every one of the band members can actually play bass, guitars, drums and keys (and sing) to a lesser or greater degree. If you've been in the studio with your band and you've got a creative mind, it makes sense where perhaps you're a guitarist, but you've just thought up a great little drum pattern that would work and you'd jump on the drums to show the drummer what's in your head. Very few musicians can "only play one instrument". Even if they claim this is the case, they could probably give another instrument a decent shot if they were forced to. If you look at Slipknot's Killpop video, one guy was playing practically a bongo drum and another was playing literally a metal barrel!

Wow, interesting! I feel like no one guessed it exactly, so it's quite a surprise. I...have kinda mixed feelings about it. I mean, it does sound like it's going to be insanely awesome to hear and see the songs with a full orchestra. I'm going to assume they won't be coming to St. Louis, so I will already start planning a trip to Chicago. Maybe I can get my mom to come visit and go with me too! But I guess I was just really looking forward to totally new music with Jen in the mix now and hearing what they can do without the restraints of a record label. I guess we'll have to wait a little longer for that though. But I'm excited for this project and already know I'll love it. I'll be going to the Chicago show if there is one. I know a few other fans on Twitter mentioned Chicago too. It'd be cool to get a photo of us all together. Really hoping there is a date near me so I can completely experience a new era. I got to experience the last one, just wasn't able to go to a show for Ev3 due to my ex being an ass. Anyways I LOVE orchistral music so I can't wait to see how this all pans out. I can't wait to see what the album art is going to be too.

Remember that fan tweet from a couple of months ago about seeing Amy & Will in Texas? Maybe they're recording the album there in Will "Science" Hunt's studio. I wonder if Amy's planning to bring him along during the tour just like how she wanted to have both Will on the drum back when the Lillywhite session was a thing.

ok this is something I'm dying to know of. Amy said in the video that they're making/remaking their older songs from the ground up but she only mentioned the instrumental work with new intros and outros and such, but will she re-record the vocals as well? I really really hope she does because Amy's voice and singing ability has changed/improved since Fallen and I would love to see her redo songs from at least that album

I really really hope she does because Amy's voice and singing ability has changed/improved since Fallen and I would love to see her redo songs from at least that album I'd say yes. She mentioned that these songs are not remixes, they're not taking parts of songs, and they're reworking them from the ground up. Especially if they're messing with tempos, segues, and stuff, it sounds like a guarantee that the vocals will be redone ("from the ground up" implies that they will not be using any of the older recordings). I'm more curious if there might be any lyrical adjustments, additional verses, or even slight changes to vocal melodies.

it would be interesting for Amy to add lyrical parts to older songs she doesn't relate to anymore, and we all know Amy's more about feeling the songs rather than just adding lyrics that fit or rhyme, but Amy's a professional so adding lyrics is only a small part of the challenge here

Do you guys think this is part of Synthesis? It reminds me of Lies since both have this Tubular Bells sounding thing going on...would be awesome if it's a rework of Lies (Remix/Post-Origin Demo or whatever the heck it's called) http://instagr.am/p/BA0PkalEDtA

Looks like Will Science Hunt is really a part of this project.

Looks like Will Science Hunt is really a part of this project. It's one thing I'm really starting to notice about this project. It feels a bit like a reunion of sorts. So far we've got David Campbell, Amy's harp teacher, Science, and they're tracking next door to Nick Raskulinecz and Lzzy Hale. It's almost like one of the initial ideas when they came up with the project was "how do we involve as many artistic friends of Evanescence as possible?" As a long time fan I love it, because to me, a lot of these people are as much a part of Ev as the band are. I feel like they were somewhat restricted as to who they could invite into the studio with them in the past, whereas now they're allowed to go crazy and sort of ask the question "who wants to be a part of the next Ev project?" and just go from there.

What song do you think this is? Most people say 'Your Star' but I'm not really sure.
