Goodnight -Located on the album(s): "Blitz Locals" as Track #12 -NO BMI# (!!!!!) -Length Time: 1:31 -Acoustic Version Available? [NO] -Live Version Available? [NO] Lyrics: 0:00 - 0:13 Goodnight, sleep tight No more tears In the morning I'll be here And when we say goodnight, Dry your eyes Because we said goodnight, And not goodbye We said goodnight And not goodbye Song: Some Things To Think About/Debate Over -Goodnight, written by Amy Lee, was on the CD "Blitz Locals" along with "The Blitzkrieg Theme 2000" performed by "The Void" a.k.a. Ben Moody (which was Track #1.) -The "Blitz Locals" CD was given away for charity on May 2000: This cd compilation of Arkansas musicians was produced as a premium gift for listeners who pledged support to Blitzkrieg, a program aired on public radio station KABF 88.3 FM. 20 copies were produced. -People who don't know any better mispell this song "Goodnite." -I had originally thought that Goodnight was a Sound Asleep EP Outtake since it was released on the Blitz Locals CD in 2000, and thus made more sense if it was created closer to SA EP release rather than the EV EP release. This has been proven wrong since Goodnight was played over the radio on Nov 8th 1998 on Blitzkrieg, 11 p.m. Sundays, KABF 88.3 FM, Little Rock, AR. It was the last song played in order to showcase EV EP (at that time called 'Origin' EP - more information in the EV EP topic) and thus since it was made before the SA EP was released, there was merit to the idea of it being a 1997-1998 demo after all *shrugs* Go figure right? -Goodnight, like Listen to the Rain, is not per-se an Evanescence song. It is more like an Amy Lee song, even though both are put into Evanescence discographies, so I suppose there they shall remain. Furthermore, it is not on the BMI Website, but that is obvious (neither is LTTR). -On the In The Shadows bootleg, Goodnight was altered (for some reason) to give it the piano intro to the Origin version of Imaginary. 'Tis strange indeed. This bootleg-song is known as Goodnight (Extended Intro). It has a duration of 1:42. THANKS to DoubleA for the lyrics and the videos are from FallenEvArmy!

This thread is five years old but is anyone else disappointed that Amy didn't do a remake of this on Dream Too much?

Plus it was written for charity in late 1999 to early 2000. Yeah, she may not even remember it. But it would have been cool to see her bring up some of her most obscure material and acknowledge it, especially cause it would have been befitting for a children's album. Maybe just use it as simple intro/outro.

I actually used to use this song as a lullaby for my son when he was a baby. Either playing it for him or singing it to him myself. It would have been cool to see this on Dream Too Much, but like AA I'm not disappointed it wasn't on there.

I used to sing/play it for my son too, but if you think about it the lyrics are a little depressing for kids. I know it's basically saying "I'm not leaving you" but why would a child need to question that? :/
As beautiful as it is, I just don't think it would mesh with the overall positive vibe of DTM.
