I didn't read the article after the first line. Same quotes from before anyway. Can't Ev just be a rock band? Why does Amy always have to be hailed as "Queen of the goths/emos"?

Why does Amy always have to be hailed as "Queen of the goths/emos"? Cause she wears black clothes and heaps of eye liner and sings dramatic, brooding songs about suffocating, going under and coming back to life maaaaan! * heavy sarcasm* Anyway, good news! A friend of mine was staying at Jen Majura's house when she got the gig with Evanescence, so I'm super excited to see what she brings to the performances! ...not that I'm lucky enough to be going... but that's why we have YouTube!

Plus isn't Evanescence...pretty much not goth anymore? I mean yeah, Fallen did have a teenage-angst goth vibe, both in music and visuals (ie Amy's fashion). The Open Door still had a little bit but not much. Ev3, to me, was just straight up rock. There really was no gothicness to the music and Amy doesn't dress like a Hot Topic model anymore.

Who miss the old MTV here? Raise your hand! P.S.: Maybe the author of the article is... too judgemental? Or more interested at the music today? Who knows? Interests of the author has effect on writing articles including music, as I am concerned. But anyway, the most important thing is, Evanescence is back!!!

I actually had to laugh at the opening line since i was a mid-2000's goth kid (or at least considered myself to be one at the time). But yeah, saying that line does ignore the evolution of Evanescence and Amy Lee that has occurred in more recent years. ''
