Is it bad that I like this cover much more than the original? (my bf would kill me because he loves KoRn to death, but...) I just love all the hate she puts into that song. You can feel it! So do I. Korn's version is... soulless. xD

At the start of the song, before Thoughtless on ABH what does Amy say, it's been bothering me for a while now:
Is it: I'm not even going to announce it, you ought to know what it is. Or: I'm not even going to announce it, you lot won't know what it is.
Or something completely different?!

^I felt kinda bad because I didn't know what it was. I like both versions, but while I like most of Evanescence's version better, I like the KoRn chorus better. I'm not sure if I can explain why, though. It just feels more driving. The Evanescence cover is chaotic and I love that, but it seems a little lacking when it comes to the chorus. The KoRn version is hard-hitting, but it doesn't really shine until the chorus for me.

The piano intro of this song covered by Ev is attention-seeker and I love Amy's vocals here. This song express hate and anger. I really love this cover than the original. This cover of Ev is awesome.

Amy really rocked the piano in this cover! And as usual, her ability to convey emotion is spectacular. She sounds pissed, especially in that pre-chorus.

I also felt bad, so I asked my cousin if she knew what band did the song Thoughtless and she said no. I was surprised because she normally knew that stuff. This was Christmas of 2004 because I got ABH for Christmas one year. At least I think it was 2004... It probably was though. lol.

I think both versions have their advantages. I absolutely love what the piano in Ev's adds to the song. As Jonathan Davis said, it really brings out the beautiful melodies in the song. I think the chorus in Ev's cover isn't heavy enough, but I think the verses and bridge are a bit stronger than Korn's. I really wish they'd do covers again. They're always fun. I will forever be waiting for a Depeche Mode cover. And slightly off-topic, but I still can't believe Jesse's in the music video for the song. Poor Jesse, always getting his ass kicked. Lol.

Ironically, I prefer Evanescence's chorus to Korn's. The sound felt more full to me.
I had a dream about this song last night! I was watching Anywhere But Home, and they began playing this song. Amy's harp was on stage and her hair was red (not sure why my brain switched decades during the dream lol). She had a mic with a stand as if it were The Change, and she didn't play the intro on the piano, but then played the rest of the song on the piano right when the band kicked in.
Such a logical dream, eh?
