Been wading through a lot of crap for some time now. Life takes it's toll on you, grinds you down. This week have been listening to The Open Door - first time for a very long time......and what a joy it was Still sounds great, still gets the adrenaline going Thought I'd visit here as well.....been away for far too long....its like visiting an old friend you haven't seen for ages Got a lot of posts to catch up on ~ good to see this place still very active

^ This. I think it's just the feeling that Amy puts into singing the words she writes. It's almost tangible. A lot of singers have fantastic voices, but few singers can put raw emotion across in the same way she does. It's incredible how she can actually improve a live performance by going off key or her voice cracking, it just conveys so much more than a 'perfect' performance because it's so raw and hearfelt. I agree - this is what Amy does best as a vocalist. I think she gets it from all the Bjork she listens to; Bjork also does a great job at conveying emotions when singing, imo. And pleased to see you back, Carved in Stone!
