Hey, which name is more "official" or first? I found it in 2004 as "I Must Be Dreaming" and for very long time I thought that "Bleed" is just a fake name.

(May be also because I don't like it that much as "I Must Be Dreaming". But I don't know.)

In some interview, I think it was an MTV interview, Amy supposedly confirmed the title to Be "Bleed".

Some Things To Think About/Debate Over

-(Some) people (EvRumor) think that Bleed = Catherine (i.e. see Catherine). This is obviously untrue!

-People who don't know any better call this song "I Must Be Dreaming." People who really don't know any better insist the song is called "Untitled," which according to the nonsense at EvReference (sorry, but come on) that doesn't mean that it doesn't have a title but it . . . err, I can't explain it - it makes no sense. Let the quotes speak for themselves:

This is probably because the song was released without a title (i.e. was it released AS "Untitled" or did it just have akljkldjfadkl (gibberish) written as it's song name?) On the Not For Your Ears bootleg it is called "Untitled (I Must Be Dreaming)", but that's under the assumption that the bootlegers are morons who didn't know what the title was in the first place (or is it specifically BECAUSE it wasn't released with its real title?) and guessed it was "I Must Be Dreaming" (since that is repeated throughout the song - hence the prevelance of that title compared to Bleed or Untitled).

And just so you know, the demo song lots of people refer to as "I Must Be Dreaming" (which is your 'current music' for this post) is actually entitled "Bleed."

Lots of downloading programs list it as "I Must Be Dreaming" the same way they erroneously list "Bring Me To Life" as "Wake Me Up Inside." *rolls eyes*

Actually...it's really called "Bleed", but no...sorry, don't know exactly where I can point ya. I'm sure they're out there somewhere. Try looking under "bleed", though.

-Somewhere, sometime, Amy and Ben did an (MTV? EvBoard? Exodus?) interview where (someone? interviewer? fan?) asked them about the song (I Must Be Dreaming) and Ben/Amy corrected them by saying that the name of that song is Bleed (and nothing else). This is corroborated with Bleed being on the BMI site. The question MUST have been from EvBoard or Exodus forums because I can only find people referring to the event, but never excerpts from the actual interview/question:

Amy's sister died of a mystery illness, and Bleed is definitely about a murder, so I'd say that's out. I've heard that it's about a nightmare Amy had.

-(Thanks to FallenEvArmy for this!) Ben wrote Bleed, according to John LeCompt on Twitter, despite the fact that Ben shares BMI credits with Amy and David. It is likely he wrote/worked on the majority of Bleed, just as it is likely that Amy wrote/worked on the majority of Hello (despite BMI having similar shared credits for the song; i.e. with Ben and David).

I know that Amy's sister died of a mystery illness but that doesn't rule out the song being a nightmare about her being killed. I know there's no proof but losing her sister must be something that she's always thought about a lot, and maybe dreamed about a lot, she must be scared of her being taken away again, I could imagine dreaming about it again and again, dreams don't always follow exactly what happened, they get twisted in with other things too.

Yeah. Apparently fans say she died of an epileptic seizure/in a bath tub/both. But we can just keep it as "unknown" since it is the Lee's personal life and information. If they wanted us to know then they would have said something, or Amy might have by now.

Oh absolutely, I mean it is personal. As a final comment, however, I think people in general got confused with the whole situation - it wasn't the disease that was "mysterious" but the circumstances behind her death. When I talk about "Hello" (sometime in the future) I have quotes from Renee & Michelle to back this up.

Agreed. ;D I especially love the chorus of I Must Be Dreaming I mean Untitled I mean Bleed. Evanescence should really just release everything they record. Their albums are awesome, demos like Bleed are awesome... Everything is worthy of public attention.

I agree since I feel the same way. Sadly the band (more like Amy) doesn't feel that way...
