Alright! I'm not the only one so I know I'm not going crazy now... lol! I've tried messing with it to find out what she's saying or whatever but I'm not very skilled in that and I don't have any better programs. lol.

Also, to add to the discussion of whether Together Again would have done better than SS and GE: TA made the US Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart at number 3. This is higher than Lithium's peak on the chart (number 24) and SS and GE didn't even make the chart (nor the actual Hot 100).
I'm sure that this is just because of the hype for new Ev music back in 2010, and wouldn't have done better than Lithium, SS or GE if it would have been released instead of any of them.

Is there a version of Together Again with the extended intro floating about anywhere? Or have I just imagined that? Yes. There has been one for quite some time now, though that was a fan made version. You'll be able to find the actual versions in this thread.

I don't know if this has been brough up before but I remember an interview where Amy said Terry and her had gone looking for an old typing machine recorded the sound of it and used it for a song. It was very interesting that they were so into creating vibes and stuff for songs and I've noticed that his sounds are all over Together Again, look for them. And also I love the almoste up-beat-ness of it, that and the very distinctive instrumentation make it a stand out between all Amy-Solo Evanescence songs. I swear I'll try to find it, DoubleA, don't think I will because it was in the old ET and my laptop died a few days ago so I'll try scouting the net and browsing that very useful TOD Press Thread in EB. What typing machine noise? Do you remember where this interview was? When she sings "why I feel this way", you can clearly hear it in your left channel. Well, it's been literally years and I never found the interview but I guess that's it hahahahaha Could the typewriter they're referring to in this interview is that noise in the background? And that interview really is my favorite Evaescence one of all time. I've always loved the intensity of the interviewer (lol) and his questions are SO GOOD. Like he really did his homework on preparing for the interview OR he's just really good at asking questions and interacting with artists. I also love that since The Open Door was Amy and Terry's baby it was just them in the interview. I really like that the interviewer kept involving Terry in the interview and treated him as an equal; of course Amy's a lot into talking and is a lot more eloquent than Terry, but it never feels like he's being left out. And he's really funny and kinda cute at times. Does he still work at MUCH? Amy's also at her best here. She's SO FUNNY. My favorite parts were the way she talked when she said "Terry's awesome because...", "it's just me... and the cat" and "it's not that I don't have any friends!" and I love the line "take time to be strange."

Let us take a journey, shall we? We first heard about Amy making music for the first Narnia movie from an article from MTV (Nov 18th 2004). Lee has also been working on music for the upcoming film "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe," inspired by the children's book by C.S. Lewis. The dark and morose tale, about four children who discover a magical land in the clutches of an evil witch, not only was a childhood favorite of Lee's, but its aesthetic suits the gothic-leaning singer perfectly.
"I love the kind of stranger children's stuff," she said. "I think that's very much what our music is inspired by. Not only death and the morbid stuff, but that it comes from the perspective of a child and things relating to childhood, because that's what I went through."
Lee was offered a small role in the film, currently in production in New Zealand, but considering the role she requested, the film's producers may have been too freaked out to give her a part.
"They were like, 'Do you want to do a cameo?' And I was like, 'Hell yeah! Let me die. I want to be somebody who gets murdered.' So I don't think that's going to happen." SOURCE-Strangely, a week later the producers denied claims that Evanescence was ever supposed to create music for Narnia (Nov 27th 2004): Amy Lee from American goth pop band Evanescence has been composing music for the New Zealand-made film The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
And she claims she was offered a cameo in the Andrew Adamson-directed film shooting in the South Island. Only, after elaborating on her connections to the production on MTV.com, the film's producers said that was news to them and no Evanescence music was planned for the soundtrack of the film, which has British composer Harry Gregson-Williams doing its score.
[. . .]
It appears that cameo was yet more wishful thinking on Lee's part. SOURCE-Regardless it seemed the producers eventually communicated with each other (Did they not speak to the musical staff or whomever? How could they not know what was happening?) and figured out what was going on, considering the article posted on E! Online the next month (Dec 10 2004). Notice how it seems, at first, Together Again was going to be the song for the ending credits: The Lion, the Goth Chick and the Wardrobe: Guess who Amy Lee, lead singer of Evanescence, is totally gonna score with? Not some guy with tattoos and a lip ring--no, the shadowy chanteuse will be making sweet, sweet music with dead British lit god C.S. Lewis. Or at least she's getting snuggly with the adaptation of his The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, due in 2005, with Tilda Swinton and Rupert Everett.
"I'm doing some cool, ethereal vocal stuff throughout the score," she tells Team Megaplex while promoting the band's recent concert DVD Anywhere but Home. "And also a song for the end credits."
But before you start thinking she's gonna get all Enya on your ass, she soothes us with her dark magic: "I'm trying to bring something creepy to the table," she promises. Well, good. 'Cause a story about a lion who's supposed to be, like, Jesus inside your closet just isn't creepy enough. SOURCE-More definitive evidence that this was happening (and not all in Amy's head or whatever) was reported on the My Last Breath Forums in Feb 2005, where Amy is stated to have said this in a Kerrang interview (and boy would a scan of said Kerrang interview be really neat for someone to find *hint* *hint*). Notice that by early 2005 it had been decided that Together Again would no longer be a song for the ending credits and now was moved up for the opening credits. You’re scoring a film?
“It’s not a whole score, but I’m doing a song for a film of CS Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia. It’s great because it’s going to be really creepy, which was basically my only requirement. They want me to do the one theme song that comes on at the title credits and maybe incorporate that in the score, with me doing all this vocal-ambient stuff.” -It should be noted that by mid-2005 there seemed to be at least FOUR soundtracks (maybe that's why the producers were initially confused LOL) that the Narnia people were releasing. This was the plan by May 23rd 2005 at least: Walt Disney Studios has pacted with EMI Music to produce two soundtracks inspired by “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe” — one headlining mainstream Christian music artists, the other, pop and rock.
[. . .]
Walt Disney Records will produce the official “Chronicles” soundtrack featuring a score and one song composed by Harry Gregson-Williams. It also is planning to produce a soundtrack for young tots. SOURCE-The Evanescence fanbase was increasingly anticipating this moody and ambient song that would appear in the Narnia movie. Remember that this is post-ABH, pre-TOD Evanescence so the fans were eager for some more music. It seems like there was a consistent back-and-forth with the Narnia people regarding whether or not Together Again was going to be at the end credits or the beginning credits. The New York Times reported this on October 12th 2005 when difficulties were arising. By then, Together Again was removed as the opening credits song and was once again relegated to the ending credits: The spiritual character of "Narnia" is being reinforced with the debut on the charts last week of a Christian pop album of music inspired by the film. But prospects for a previously announced secular soundtrack now seem cloudy, executives involved in the process say. Disney executives say that at the very least the CD will be delayed beyond its planned Oct. 25 release.
Mitchell Leib, president of music for Disney's Buena Vista film unit, said he still expected to assemble and release a secular soundtrack before the film's Dec. 9 opening. But he cited production snags. He said he was still awaiting a recording by the rock band Evanescence that is intended as the film's closing song. He added that planning had also been complicated by last-minute decisions about how music will be used in the complex, special-effects-laden film.
The Christian-oriented album's status as the only "Narnia" musical project in the marketplace, for now at least, could upset the studio's plan to balance two audiences. "If they go ahead and release only the one soundtrack, I think they're risking being identified as turning toward a blatantly religious company, which does turn some people away," said Chris Ahrens, founding editor of Risen, a San Diego-based lifestyle magazine that explores the spiritual beliefs of entertainment figures. On the other hand, Mr. Ahrens said, if the music strikes a chord in the Christian market, "I think that's huge for Disney in terms of the movie audience." He added, "It seems like a huge gamble." SOURCE-You'll notice that they no longer speak of a 'tots' soundtrack. They seemed to be running out of time and, in my estimation, the secular 'rock and pop' album was never released. Instead only the Christian-inspired album and the score was released (links below). When Together Again was eventually removed entirely from the movie (likely because it had no place in either soundtrack?), it was replaced by songs from the score soundtrack (both in the opening and closing credits). Songs Inspired by the Lion, the Witch, and the WardrobeThe Chronicals of Narnia - the Original Motion Picture SoundtrackAs you can see in the following video, had Together Again maintained its place as the Opening Song, it would have been played here. Instead, the song 'Evacuating London' by Harry Gregson-Williams was played instead (Track #2 of the score soundtrack). LOOK HERE: Song that replaced Together Again for the opening credits: As you can see in the following video, had Together Again maintained its place as the Ending Song, it would have been played here. Instead, the song 'Wunderkind' by Alanis Morissette & 'Winter Light' by Tim Finn was played instead (Track #15 & 16 respectively of the score soundtrack). LOOK HERE (I know it's bad quality, but it's not like people upload HQ video of end credits these days): Song that replaced Together Again for the ending credits (1): Song that replaced Together Again for the ending credits (2): -Amy eventually let us know on EvBoard what was going on (Dec 02 2005): HEY EVERYBODY!!!! its been a crazy couple of weeks, but everything is going SO GREAT in the studio. I can hardly contain my excitement for this record, and I'm happier than I've been in so long I can't remember. I haven't had a chance to look through all of the drawing ideas for the epilepsy logo yet, but there's some really amazing stuff in there. Thank you so much, guys. I wanted to make sure everyone knows that I DO NOT have any music in the chronicles of narnia I did write music for it, that I love very much, but it was rejected for the movie because it was "too dark" and "too epic." My darlings, if I can't write dark, epic music, I can't live. I thought about it for awhile, and then finally decided that I simply will not compromise my art for anything. It is very sad, though, because I think the movie is going to be amazing. Its really good- I just don't want you guys to go and see it and be let down because you thought our music was in there. Oh well, more great stuff for the album. IM SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!!! and im so glad we took the extra time to make this record right. You're gonna love it. I love you guys, and I'm sorry I haven't been around in a while, but its all for a very good cause. Happy holidays! I'll talk to you soon. love amy SOURCE-Amy later went on to explain what happened (and offered some insight into an additional contender for the opening track, although I seem to remember there was an EvRumor that a third Ev track was considered too?) in a Metal Edge interview in Nov 2006: One other song that actually did not make the album, but was also written with children in mind, was the unreleased tune that Lee was asked to contribute to the soundtrack for the blockbuster film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe. The untitled song was ultimately rejected, although she also wrote “Lacrymosa” for the film.
“I thought it would be awesome for the opening scene, but they wanted something original,” says Lee of the Mozart cover. “I wrote something else that was moody, dark and really cool, and the director wanted something that felt more hopeful. The song was about saying goodbye and moving on, and that’s what they’re doing in [the beginning of] the movie when they’re leaving their parents and going into some scary, unknown place. That’s how I wrote it, from their perspective. I thought the song was perfect. And it wasn’t like I put a bunch of guitars in it. I made stuff that was cool and vibey but was still haunting, and I think that’s the part they didn’t like.” -Since Amy has stated that it was "more great stuff for the album," many people were looking forward to listening to it. We got a bit of information - bits and pieces - from Renee and Michelle on ev.it. The following is EVERY bit of information on Together Again, which was then ONLY known as The Narnia Song: What Michelle heard was not a finished copy of the album. It was unmixed and did not have all of the songs on there. So everybody play nice or I will have to seperate you. HAHA! I do have the final mixed album and it sounds really great. All of the songs are on my copy but of course they won't all make the album. And Lubbock like I've said before---- The Narnia song is on there. From what I can remember, there is 4 ballads on my copy but only 2 will probably make the album. The rest are faster. The Narnia song??? Big Question. As far as I know, Amy has not said anything to the guys about it. If there will be a song from Evanescence, it will most likely be from Amy alone. I do know that she has written one and it's beautiful. If the guys end up on it or they write another one ( who knows). It was originally just an Amy project, so we will see. I also know that the song that Amy wrote for Narnia might possibly be on the new album. But that could change too. It's too hard to give you guy's too much info b/c all this info could change. So far the Narnia song is straight ballad. She may change some things or might not be on the album. There is another ballad but it has the whole band. And I'm still not sure about if or when the Narnia song is coming out. Remember that is an Amy thing?! Personally, just my opinion, but I didn't think the Amy song would be on there b/c I was told it had been rejected. But, reading these post I started to think maybe I was wrong. So I went to Rocky and he had not heard anything. Now the copy of the Narnia song is on my CD but like I think I might have said before (not sure) is that it might be on the new album. It is possible that the song might get shelved completely. WOW would I have the only copy?? Just kidding!! But it is possible that the song might never see the light of day. That is something that Amy and the label will decide when it is time to put the songs on the album. I'm sorry b/c I'm sure none of this info helps. If I hear anything I will let ya know. Good Enough and Lithium are seperate songs. The "Narnia" song - that is what it is called on my copy. If she has renamed it, then I'm sure she will let me know. Those are 3 seperate songs. They are 3 different kinds of ballads also. Two of them have the whole band playing, one just Amy and a piano. Lithium is not inspired by Nirvana. Lacrimosa has it's own lyrics and they are in english. Hope this helps. I do hope that they will put more songs on the album. The Narnia song reminds me of something that would belong in a Tim Burton movie. It just has that feel to it. I love it. I know the Narnia song as the "Narnia" song. On my cd that's what it is called. Yes she sings on the Narnia song, and like I said it's beautiful. [Archived from Renee and Michelle's posts from ev.it] -On July 5th 2006, Renee stated the following on ev.it: The Narnia song------GONE!! Not on the new album. The intro of the Narnia song has been added onto Good Enough. People, as you can imagine, lost their mind thinking that Together Again was cut up into little bits and injected into Good Enough. I suppose it would be like if we knew what the original parts to Erase This were called and then got upset when they were fused together to make that song, you know? Amy went to EvBoard on July 13th 2006 (about a week later) to explain: ps- about all this narnia crap- nothing was sliced, diced or sacrificed. The song I wrote for the movie is still in tact- when I wrote it, I wrote a really long instrumental intro that is different from the rest of the song. Its just a piece of music. It turned out to be the perfect segway into the last song on the album. chillax! SOURCE-Unfortunately, this is when the history of Together Again grew dark. It wasn't being released and the Evanescence fanbase could only hope for it as a B-Side. Michelle said this final thing about it. I recall asking about the CD she has because she said it had more songs on it then song we knew about (13 of TOD + The Narnia Song + TLSIWOY which was released digitally): Here I come to save the dayyyyyyyy!!! Ok, just kidding. There were 18 songs recorded as demo's on the cd Renee has (had...not sure if she still has it). One of those was the Narnia song in which Amy sings, it's not an instrumental. Ok, so you have the 13 tracks that are on the album and the Narnia song. That's a total of 14, meaning there are 4 unnamed and unreleased songs. Not sure if they will be B-sides or not. There, I believe, are 1 or 2 piano songs with a little drum. Rocky said yesterday that there was a total of 18 songs recorded. Of course some of those will be b-sides. "The Band" wrote 2 songs and Amy didn't like her recorded vocals so she didn't use them for the album. Also Rocky and John had wrote @ 6 or 7 songs and she didn't accept them either. Stop your daydreaming. No songs have been harmed or lost in the recording process. The songs that Rocky & John wrote are R&J songs. Never EV. But the songs were tossed out there for Amy to record if she wanted to. [Archived from Renee and Michelle's posts from ev.it] -It was increasingly difficult to tally just what TOD songs were left. After the release of the Nov 2006 Metal Edge interview (quoted previously) where the name 'Together Again' & 'If You Don't Mind' was revealed (along with the names appearing on BMI), the fans were speculating that there was only 1 song that we didn't know the name of from Renee's CD: "And the group even recorded enough material for three planned B-sides – “Together Again,” “If You Don’t Mind,” and “The Last Song I’m Wasting On You”." Judging by what the interview said, we can extrapolate the 13 TOD songs + TLSIWOY (14) + Together Again (15) + IYDM (16) + The Narnia Song (17). For a while, this was the working EvTheory. -On (October 1st?) 2007, Amy did an interview with Evanescence Website (ev.it) where she revealed that 'The Narnia Song' and 'Together Again' were one and the same! So we were back down to 16 known songs and 2 unknown from Renee's CD: 5) There’ve been some kind of ‘leaks’ for the “Good Enough” single lately on the net. Someone even posted the cover and tracklist for it. There’s a b-side called “Together Again”; well, can you confirm it? And if you can, how you came to the decision to add this song to Good Enough? What’s the song about?
Well, I know by now this was a while ago, and I guess by now you know that together again isn’t on the good enough single. It was a probably just a mistake at the label, assuming that song would go there, but it isn’t quite finished. It would be a pretty simple task to complete it, and eventually we will. It’s a song I love very much and I promise you’ll hear it- I’m saving it for a rainy day. I think most of you know that it was the song I intended to be in the chronicles of narnia, and that was the inspiration. So its about leaving home knowing it may not be there when you return, and the attraction to something frightening and wonderful far away from there. SOURCE-Amy continued (Nov 21st 2007) with another interview where she offers more insight into what happened. WW: There was all that hullabaloo about whether you were or you weren't going to be working on The Chronicles of Narnia. Did that sour you on Hollywood at all? Or did it have no impact really?
AL: Well, I'm already permanently soured on Hollywood. I lived there for five years and I just never, ever want to go back. I think it wasn't anybody's fault. I was just a little misguided about what they wanted. I did write music for the movie, and I still have a song in my back pocket that hasn't been released that I love, which was originally intended for that movie. But it was darker than what they wanted. They wanted to not scare kids, and I can understand that now after seeing the movie. But when we were talking about it beforehand, I think they were telling me a little bit what I wanted to hear - that it was going to be very dark and very Lord of the Rings and all this stuff, and it turned out to be a lot more childlike. The way I was writing was a lot bigger and more epic and dark than all that. I still think it would have been a beautiful song in the movie, but it didn't make me bitter. It's just one song in the bank. SOURCE-The song remained unfinished until the Haitian earthquake hit in Jan 12th 2010. It was then that Amy decided to release Together Again to help in the relief efforts. Amy posted this on Twitter on Jan 22nd 2010 and EvThreads v1 on Jan 23rd 2010: Today @evanescence is releasing a new song, Together Again, and the proceeds are going to help Haiti! Details to follow! SOURCEHey guys. I posted this blog on EvClub last night, and I just thought it should be here too... Pain is a big part of life. It is the thing that brings us to earth, keeps us tightly connected to each other. I've never felt closer to people than in times of great sorrow or distress, and I guess this is what connects us, people all over the world, to people in Haiti right now. We are the same creatures with the same heart, and as strong as we may feel sometimes, we are completely helpless to the brokenness of this world. Bad things happen. Sometimes its nobody's fault. But the pain that we feel should make us better.... more sensitive to others and more concious of our own impact on their lives. No matter what we give, people around the world will hurt just like we do. But maybe that's the point, and just for us to try to connect to that pain instead of shutting it out, is what makes us human. Thank you, all of you, for donating generously the way that I know alot of you have been. Sometimes it takes something like this to put it all in perspective. The next record- awesome. So excited about it. But really, on a grand scale, who ****ing cares. There are people dying all around us- emotionally as well as literally. That sentiment is exactly what made me begin to write music and poetry in the first place, as a kid. So again, for me that is the point, the reason, the connection. We need each other, plain and simple. So, (deep exhalation of emotional release) about the song- As most of you know, "Together Again" is a song written during the Open Door era. I have always loved it and wanted to find the perfect home for it. It wasn't at home in the Narnia movie, it didn't belong on The Open Door, and of all the other nameless opps that came up in between then and now it didn't fit there either. The recording you are hearing was made in 2005-6 along with the rest of the record. About a week ago (a couple of days after hearing about the recent events in Haiti) Josh woke up (before me as usual) and told me that he thought maybe this was where the song belonged. I was at first skeptical on my ability to put all the pieces together and make it a reality, but I think everyone around me was just wishing for a way to help too. My manager, Andy, immediately jumped on board and started making calls. My label agreed to donate their share, my publishing company did the same, even Ted Jensen (who is a very well known mastering artist) cut the fee down to virtually nothing so it was very quick and easy to get the song finished. I am very proud to say that all of the money that is donated for the download of our song except for the credit card transaction fee is going to Haiti. Its a cool way to think about it- maybe the reason it never fit anywhere else is because it belonged here, all along, for this purpose. I hope and believe that we are making a real difference together. Thank you guys again, for caring, for listening to me, and for just being fans. Thank you... to those who no matter how much pain you've felt, still remain strong enough to feel more.
love, Amy. -On Feb 1st 2010, Amy stated this on her Twitter: Over 6,200 downloads of Together Again so far- at at least $5 each that's $31,000+ for Haiti. Rock on! www.unfoundation.org/evanescence SOURCE-Eventually, the song was released on digital platforms on Feb 23rd 2010. It was there that the song became the #10 downloaded rock song on iTunes after less than 24 hours of being released. It peaked at #3 on iTunes' Top Rock Songs Chart and #29 on the Most Downloaded Songs Chart. It was on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 at number 86, Hot Digital Songs at number 68, and Rock Digital Songs at number 11. Unfortunately, none of the Wikipedia sources work anymore so you'll just have to take my word for it xD. SOURCE-It took three years later from the original release for the Pre-Master of Together Again to leak (on March 23rd 2014), along with If You Don't Mind. The Pre-Master was first revealed on a OneTen promo CD for E-Bay, listed by someone whose name I can't remember (anybody know?) on September (22nd?) 2012. He was selling a mysterious CD that had the Pre-Master, along with the (then unreleased) If You Don't Mind, The Last Song I Wasted on You (we already had this), and four unheard of instrumentals. It took only three days later for blabber-mouths to tell Amy on Twitter about it and her manager had the seller take it down. SIGH. Anyways, at first I wondered if perhaps two of the instrumentals were on Renee's CD, but looking back on my notes, it is likely the two remaining TOD Outtakes were the two Renee talked about where Amy "didn't like her recorded vocals." So it remains to be seen just where these four instrumentals came from. The E-Bay posting was originally called "EVANESCENCE Together Again US Promo Only CD B-Sides AMY LEE HEAR & SEE !!!" Song: The Promo: -Although this song was never played live per-se, a variation of the music was performed live by Amy & Dave Edgar on Feb 10th 2018 in Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Brisbane, Australia. She continued to play it for the next few months. -It is likely that if The Narnia Song is ever leaked, it will resemble to some degree, the long intro of Good Enough blended into the Pre-Master of Together Again. THANKS to DoubleA for the lyrics and the videos are from FallenEvArmy!

I've found myself revisiting this song a lot since the new album was released. It's got me keeping everything crossed for more songs like this in the future. The ambience, the slightly sinister creep of the progression of the song....really beautiful.

When Amy said the song was unfinished, did she mean unmastered? Judging by the promo CD version (the so-called 'pre-master'), it's pretty much finished, with the intro included. When the song was officially released for the Haiti thing, they cut the intro.
