Well, I don't like. And it's not Ev's fault, it's Wind-Up's fault. We could get better charts if they had the proper marketing for it. Ev this year was too underrated.

I'm sorry for the My Heart is Broken single - as compared with What You Want it received absolutely no attention (moreover, it appears that everyone who KNOW IT, hates the video).

I still think it's great, but hopefully the next album will be even better!

I think the chart positions are impressive, considering the fact that 1. Wind Up is absolute sh*t & 2. Rock and Metal genre are the underground these days, whereas dubstep & dance is the cool thing now. Whereas when Fallen came out, rock/metal was more popular, with bands like Linkin Park, Korn, Alien Ant Farm in the charts. I don't even know what I'm saying. o.e
No. 47 in the Top Selling Rock albums is quite sad though.
I think Ev3 did good, not as good as TOD and Fallen. 'What You Want' managed to get to No. 1 in the UK rock charts and 60 in the UK charts and MHIB was in the Top 10 and in the UK, Ev3's highest charting position was No. 2 behind Steps. & That's impressive, because Steps' comeback was all over the British media and they had a reality tv show, compared to Evanescence who hardly got any promotion.

You're absolutely right on all the points you've made - I firmly believe if Evanescence were managed by a better label they would have had far more exposure in the media and much greater success in album/singles sales. I think Evanescence could have been really big in 2012. Also, the band have got where they are today from their own determination and hard work - touring the world /doing countless interviews - and where were Wind Up? Sitting at home on their fat arses counting their share of the profits no doubt! Watching the Scuzz interview showed how little Wind Up knew or cared about Evanescence - particularly when they at first insisted that the band have a male rapper singing along with Amy (it was interesting to hear Amy say that she refused and did not sign their record deal for two weeks until Wind Up dropped their demands - and eventually compromised to one song - BMTL - even then Amy still doesn't like that part in the song) It would be really interesting to know how many copies of Evanescence have been sold to date......I wonder if anyone knows?

I know that when the self-titled album came out in 2011, it sold 249,000 in the States, according to Nielsen Soundscan totals for the top selling CDs of 2011. That's the only info I could find regarding Ev3's sells

I agree guys that with a better label behind them, Evanescence would be much, much more successful. I think this album had a bunch of potential, regardless of the lack of commercial success rock bands have now in comparision to the Fallen era or even the TOD era. I think EV3 is much easier on the random listener's ears than most of TOD, a lot of songs actually had the potential to be way more successful with the right promotion, IMO. Guess this will change if they sign to another label, which i hope they do.
Anyway, the main reason i want them to change labels is because i have the expectation to hear more innovations in their music in the future and it's clear that Wind-up isn't willing to let them grow that much musically. As long as i get to listen to their most creative album to date, it doesn't bother me that much if they don't have another hit ever again. Of course, if they have the chance to enjoy total artistic freedom with another label in the future AND at the same time lead the charts and win a bunch of awards, that would be ideal, but i don't think it'll happen.

That's the only info I could find regarding Ev3's sells It actually sold, 304,000 + in 2011 And I'm not sure how much it has sold this year but it should be close to selling 500,000 in total now (or it has already surpassed it, not sure)....

I think it's not the point topping on charts with a record or anything, I think the quality is better than be successful.
Their record label totally failed on Ev3's promotion and its delay. I agree 100% with you guys, I feel like we'd be getting some really cool music if they hadn't delayed the record.
I was wondering if they go independent, but everything's about the money, you have to have it to promote, make all those album stuff, you know, release it, put a cover on it, print it and blah blah blah. My english is way too bad to try to explain it, I'd use Google Translator for it, but no, neither you nor I would understand the non-sense sentences... but that's besides the point.
Anyway, like someone was saying before, Amy would be free to do what she/they want with their sound. She likes to challenge herself, I think she admitted that once.
I thought WYW was about doing what you really want, but that didn't happen with their last record.
