I don't know, she really seems like she truly doesn't know what she's gonna do. I think she's gonna have a long break, she'll have a lot of time to think about the future and maybe she'll decide that she wants to start a family or start some solo/alternative project (fashion, film soundtrack, acting, charity, art, solo album, collaborations) or maybe she'll come back to ev again, who knows. She doesn't know, she doesn't really care. She is going to do something, of course, she just can't help it and after all... what would she do? sleep forever? I don't think so, she's an artist.

She's always saying the same damn thing so I don't see why we should all get worked up over this. Come on people, this is Evanescence 101, we should know this stuff by now! XD If they didn't broke up back in 2007, there' no way in hell they're gonna do it now, when a band is done, it shows, so far it hasn't. BTW, I'm redeye so hi

I believe Amy has many ideas for the next album. Can't we trust her to come back? I believe so.

I think we need the solo record... she wouldn't have barriers to make what she wants. She just could record it, release it, and no touring, maybe she could promote it around the world or in the USA.

I think it's for the best. She don't talk about her intentions so we won't wait for something that she can give up in the future. Amy is always going to surprise us. It can be a new album, or a baby... D:

What's said in the interview isn't literally "We're done. Farewell!" but I really don't like the tone. I expected something more like "Oh, we're so exhausted of touring and we can't wait go get home and take a well deserved break so that we can start writing again, full of energy and inspiration, etc." The whole "I don't know" thing is quite depressing. I don't want to wait another five years. Or even more, who knows. It's just... blah. I think that the tone of the article may be misleading. I would give Amy and/or the band the chance to clear this up. There will probably be some interviews and press during this next tour. Don't forget that this is an article not a live interview so the tone of the article is set by the writer not the person being interviewed. They may have put a twist on it to make it seem more like Amy wasn't interested in getting back into things too soon, when in reality that may not be the case. The point of this article is probably to get the attention of the fans and it's working.

God, no. She is clueless once again. I think that's another 5 year break coming up.

they deserve it after such a long tour. so I think it's better to wait and see what's the plan and what happens next... I hope to hear more about all this after the break...

They deserve a break but if they leave us 5 more years without some random stuff here and there to keep us busy my heart will be broken. How come it's OK for them to do their super exciting job for 2 years (1 year making the album and 1 year touring) and then take a few more years break while at the same time the longest I've had between those utterly boring scientific degrees is about 2 months and then I was obliged to function at full capacity again? I know, it's totally unrelated but... Life's not fair. /end of rant

Atleast you don't live in London and haven't managed to get tickets because you were on holiday and when you came back and planned to get tickets they were sold out >.< Fffuuu!! I had a little hope, still... So -- it's all gone? The only world I've ever known sleeps beneath the waves

but... Life's not fair. /end of rant exactly. i agree with you 100% but this interview necessarily doesn't mean that we're going to have another 5 year break. she still doesn't know what really happens next. like all of us. so try to look at things with a positive eye. sure Amy knows how hard another 5 years gap is for the fans, so I'm sure she'll add this factor to her decisions. anyway I think this is not the right time to write tragic comments and think about those hard days. cause there are lots of things need to be cleared out. and it wont happen sooner than a couple of months after ending the uk tours. so I think it's still too early.we have to wait more and don't think about it much.

Evanescence has been my favorite band for awhile, but I don't know if I'll be able to say that if they take another massive break. It shouldn't take 5 years to put out an album, seriously. I know Amy has a life and she likes being normal sometimes but I don't know if I'll be able to support a band that just doesn't care about the fanbase. The very least they can do is put out unreleased music, demos, acoustic versions, instrumental/acapella versions or something. Don't just leave your completely loyal fans in the dark with nothing for 5 years and then start playing music again and expect everything to be okay. They can't keep doing this. It pisses me off.

I count myself as being extremely lucky - seing Ev last November - and again this coming November. I've seen the band at their very best - and I'll always remember that with enormous satisfaction.
The future does look uncertain - cannot rule out anything at this point - line up changes / different music direction / Amy starting a family
Hopefully we won't have to wait too long.........

I agree. I will support them no matter what, but this is really annoying.
