Interesting fact: I found this mention on EvBoard when I was searching for something else about 2001/2 demos. I had no idea that EF was performed live even BEFORE Fallen came out

^Yeah. I think EF was written in 1999. We're also missing a demo version.

Yes, we are missing a demo version, as heard on Making of Fallen. Also, the two year thing is referring to the 2001 TNT Powerhouse Live Set, which we know the playlist of but do not have (i.e. that set that had The Dolphins Cry played at - EF was first played there).

Nope. I'm referring from this interview/article that is referenced in the EvRef right after the statement of the song being written around 1999. The interview/article was posted on July 29, 2004. Five years previous would be 1999.

Oops, I had this on my page too Yes, this makes sense. It also corroborates to the other quote that states Amy wrote EF when Carrie was around 8, which puts it around the 1998/1999 years, depending on when Carrie's birthday is. So likely early 1999 we are talking about here? Can you imagine an EP or an Origin version of EF? I can envision an Origin version - it would be like a more electric version of the demos probably.

I'd love to hear a live version of this song with the DADGAD guitar intro played on keyboard. I reckon it could sound really interesting.

This song is mistakenly known as a song about Britney Spears. Apparently, if Wind Up pushed Imaginary as a single and this song would be a promo single... *sighs*

evfan Certainly nowadays, it'll be a combination of whether there's a big fan interest in the song combined with if the band like it or not. I get the impression that the current setlist is almost entirely centred around what they most enjoy playing live. Tim's a big fan of tunes like The Other Side and Troy seems a big fan of stuff like Never Go Back, Weight of the World and The Change (you can tell he loves playing the guitar harmony in the last chorus, particularly) and Amy never seems to get bored of Sober. As for Bring Me To Life and My Immortal, they're big hits that the not so hardcore fans can get into without feeling like they've wasted their tickets listening to songs they don't know or recognise. That said, if you really want to hear it live, it's definitely worth requesting it on Twitter etc. as chances are, there are other Evfans that would love to hear it too. I'm pretty sure there's no definitive reason why they don't other than there being other songs which they like more and they're certainly not ones to shy away from mixing up the setlist to keep things interesting so I could see them bringing this one back at some point.

I just don't really see it working as a song to be done live, with the kind of energy that the current lineup brings to the table. We've all seen what Will is capable of.

This is my favourite song by them and i was wondering if there is any reason why they dont perform this song anymore? Funny story: Before the last show Evanescence did me and a few other fans got to have a chat with the new guitarist Jen. We had a really cool convo, first was mostly me just fan girling/saying how she is an awesome new addition to the band. A little later I asked her why not add Everybody's Fool to the setlist for upcoming shows? She responded by saying she's asked Amy a bunch of times why they don't play that or Sweet Sacrifice anymore...and she said she just shrugged and didn't have a real reason behind not playing them. At least now I feel like its more in her mind then ever to play those songs again live....just gotta convince Amy and the guys.

In the last UK tour Amy asked us what songs we wanted to hear during a meet and greet and we said Sweet Sacrifice and she was like No! not that one, that one is too hard! So I think she doesn't sing that one too often because it's quite hard on her voice, but whenever she does sing it, she nails it so I don't know what shes worried about really. Not sure about EF through, would be cool to see that one again after so many years.

Ok guys there is something that has been bothering me for quite a few years. I was about to reply to PJ in the topic about Jen's interview but I figured I needed to confront my point of view to see if it was just me who felt that way...
Back in 2011, Evanescence toured with The Pretty Reckless and that kind of disturbed me. Taylor was nineteen and she acted very "sexy" and provocative on stage. That didn't put me at ease, even though she was not a minor anymore. But I just didn't understand why Amy would support this when she's so proud of selling her music without showing her body or acting a certain way. On top of that, Taylor was formely an actress (for some teen tv show) and I always assumed this "rock" persona was more of an act than anything else. See, when people feel the need to dress a certain way to correlate their music taste, it just look not "real" to me, like they want to prove something.
So, if Evanescence was to perform Everybody's Fool again, it would kinda bother me a little. Because I would feel like Amy is being an hypocrite, even though it's just an old song that was written yeeears ago and is just a fan favourite.
Am I the only one who feel that way?
(I am actually making a judgement that might offend people. I'm sorry if it bothers you, but by respect I want to genuinely express a point of view. And well, you know, that's just, like, my opinion, man)
