^I reacted to the post above you, the one you quoted Yeah I think 'the fireplace music' was written by Amy, I mean, she is not that type of musician who would tease us with a piece of music made by somebody else right?

Oh ok. I wasn't sure if that's what the "^^" were for. Lol. Oh. Hmm. I thought it was stated that the music was from something else. Or was that the music in Floyd's Forest Adventure thing?

I can't be sure it is hers either, but figured it was. Either way, it's a beautiful piece played beautifully by her, and I can only hope it means more music in that vein. Because I really do love the piano ballads and I long for the Electronica/TripHop/Chillout material Amy wrote with Lillywhite AND new material she may come to write that's beautifully haunting instead of obnoxious and loud like most of Ev3 (but not all).

I definitely think there'd be more creativity, expanded musicianship and a bigger variety of musical ideas on an Amy Lee record. The few interviews that I've seen about the whole Lillywhite/Raskulinecz changeover seem to say that Raskulinecz was great for an out and out 'rock' record, which is perfect seeing as that's what the label wanted. It got the band more involved and let Amy and the guys expand their creativity that way, but every time I listen to Ev3, as much as I love it, I can't help but feel that something is lacking. It's just too much of the same thing over and over again. Very 'Ev by numbers' stuff. I like how raw it is, but I miss the creativity and the scope TOD had.
I remember hearing interviews about the Lillywhite sessions hearing her talk about Questlove coming in to help with the percussion on one song, how different the clip of Stompin' Steve sounded, the whole idea of a lot more electro/industrial/trip hop element as well as guitar being used....the way Ev3 had originally been pitched and talked about, it seemed to have a lot more variation and creativity on it.
Fingers crossed we will see something like that one day.

Personally I'd like an Amy record first. The band's finished touring now and most of them are back to other outlets so I definitely think an Ev record in the not too distant future would be pushing too much. Got to give them all time to find that creative space again. It's also because I'm pretty sure we'd see a new genre of music created. Amy's not one to follow the crowd and definitely one to follow her instincts, so yeah some of it would be generic. You're pretty much guaranteed to get at least one heart wrenching piano ballad for instance, because that's how she emotes. At the same time she doesn't hold back and categorise herself to a specific style before writing and I think without a label to dictate a sound, that could be pretty interesting. Amy's almost 'hipster' like attitude could potentially result in something completely unexpected - purely from a desire not to fit in. If you take that desire, dilute it so it's more instinct than drive so you end up with something much more personal, you then end up with music that's utterly unique and like nothing we've ever heard before. After all, most things she's written on her own for Evanescence recently has either been written with Evanescence in mind, or she's written with an open mind and realised retrospectively that it fits the Evanescence vibe. Until now we've only seen one side of her personality... After that I'd like to see an Evanescence reunion with the same lineup, but with the break to keep it fresh and put everybody in a different mindset so we yet again get a completely different record to the previous one. Personally I'd like it to be the heaviest and most artistically complex album yet, but that's just me

I think that if Amy made a solo album it would have more complicated beautiful piano and harp parts in the songs...And that would actually make me look forward to Amy having a solo career/album(I like the whole idea of an album because I love Evanescence as a band).I mean,I would love to hear something like that...Honestly anything Ev or Amy related would be just perfect now...While there is the releasing of the second season of L&L with YL I would really like to hear something new-Ev or Amy it doesn't matter as long as it's a full album.
