NOTES AND INTROS AND STUFF
This topic, unlike the other Rumor Topic (which is for "funny rumors,") is one exclusively for songs and discussion about said songs. Now there is a cavaet here - this isn't just whatever nammerings come seeping from the internet we are talking about here; we are talking about real cult-classic Ev rumored songs. Songs that we know of, but either have forgotten about or don't really know where the information we got came from. This is to compile it all into one place; split into three groups - songs we have not heard of before, songs that are alternative versions that we have not heard of before, and live covers of songs that we have not heard of before. Amy's solo stuff is a fourth group I added to round the Mill out. As of 10/15/12 - This Rumor Mill is comparable to the one on FMB v2, but is more updated than ev.it v3.5 Now . . . let us discuss!
NOTE #1: (To MODS/ADMINS): Since I compile information without looking into the "EvLegality" of the sources, if something is EvClub-only information, please tell me and I will remove the part in question.
NOTE #2: Remember that when I bold something, that just means I want your attention to go to it. If a quote is un-bolded that means overall the paragraph is important.
NOTE #3: Read and feast on the knowledge! If you have sources/interviews to add, or a song you want to put up for inclusion into the Mill, POST IT! I love adding new stuff to the Mill, as long as it is sourced! Of course, if the source winds up being just from a random forum, then it would go under "Poster Claims" section of the song in question.
NOTE #4: 'If You Don't Mind' use to be on the Mill, but to be honest with all the attention the song has been getting (and the fact that it was played live in Brazil), we'll probably get the studio version at some point - and we now know enough about the song (how it sounds/lyrics) in order for it to retire from the Mill. It will be missed.
NOTE #5: As of 07/2018, I've removed 'Hi-Lo'. 'Hi-Lo' has since been released (albeit in a different form from its original 2009 incarnation) and I'm tempted to remove 'Your Love' since it has been leaked (sort-of) and will be released sometime before the next apocalypse. I'll leave it up for now just for completion's sake.
The rest of this space will be reserved for NOTES and ANNOUNCEMENTS and the like ;D

. . . oh yes, there is a whole world of Evanescence stuff we don't know

NEVER RELEASED, NEVER HEARD:
Catherine
INFO: Catherine was suppose to be on the Origin album, however for whatever reason, was scrapped. Some discographies claim Catherine to be (unfinished) while others don't claim it's existance at all. Some people claim Catherine to be the real name for the song Bleed, but that was disproven on the BMI website; Bleed being #6966939. This was played live in the early Evanescence shows.
QUOTES:
The song "Catherine," penned in 2000 prior to their self-released debut, Origin, and omitted from the album, was the only example of a joint songwriting session that Moody could cite.
3) Let's make clear another urban legend (after the Meat Loaf one). Does really exist an Evanescence song called "Catherine"?
Ben and I wrote Catherine on an acoustic guitar in a movie theater parking lot. I can't really remember if we ever recorded it or not, but I know we played it once or twice to about 25 people in a coffee shop.
INFO: Spanish, like Catherine was suppose to be on the Origin album but was scrapped. It's suppose to be an instrumental and according to the old EvBoard posts, it was called Spanish because of the use of the Spanish Guitarra. This was played live in the early Evanescence shows.
QUOTES:
According to Cfw828: In posts (that no longer exist) on EvBoard dev mentioned an instrumental that was simply called Spanish that had been played live, although may not have been recorded. It was called "Spanish" because of the Spanish guitar in the instrumental.
INFO: Beginning with rumors on EvBoard, Me & You (or 'Me and You' - real name: Me In You, as per the lyrics) is an (unfinished) track which was suppose to be on the Evanescence EP (they claim it's an outtake). Some list this song on their discographies (EvThreads, EvBoard, EvRoom's Discography et al.) while others deny it's existence. This song is probably really called "Me in You," (a mis-hearing of Me 'n You) the song played during the 1999 Vino's Live Set. Based on what Amy said about the "unknown song" (i.e. it being unfinished/"half baked") and based on what early fan-sites said about 'Me and You,' these two are likely to be one in the same.
QUOTES:
Outtakes: Give Unto Me, My Immortal, October, Goodnite, Me & You (unfinished) Understanding (Live Acoustic)
I can’t bring myself to watch it, the way we sounded back then makes me cringe! I know what song you’re talking about though, I don’t even think it ever had a real name. It was a half baked song that just didn’t go anywhere because it wasn’t very good. Back then we would just kind of play whatever we had live, even if it was still sort of being worked on. It wasn’t like we were famous and stuff would end up all over the internet… whops. -Amy
...ah, memories of playing shows for free pizza...
hi ben got a few ?'s for ya can you please tell us what the name of this song is - www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sO0-vi5EpQ - and why it was never released? are there any others that are like this that you're either sitting on or planning to release? do you anticipate the song you wrote with david Only Human Only God ever being released? i got a few more too
'Me & You' does exist, it's just unfinished - hence why it isn't listed and you can't find it.
Before I knew what the song was about, I always thought it sounded like Amy had walked in on someone who had killed themself and not bothered to try to hide the fact that they did it. The song was certainly not written about a fantasy. The song is not one that they wanted to keep private like Amy's song, or they wouldn't have spoken about it to MTV and they certainly wouldn't have released it on the Demo CD. The other mystery song that people don't know much about is "Me & You" which was written around the time of the first EP, but was never finished, and so I'm not sure if they started to record it or not. This is the only song by Evanescence that cannot be found ANYWHERE within reach of the fans. "Catherine", however, is right there in front of you. Just with a different title.
WTH is Me and You?
Its an outtake of Evanescence EP...I don't know if it has ever been finished, but there is a song titled that...I dunno.
And Me and You? I think you found some BS there... nobody has me and you.
The, 'I'm not afraid of those who kill their body, For still they cannot kill their soul' is almost a quote from Matthew 10:28
Oh btw heres this Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Four 'The Open Door' Instrumentals
INFO: When E-Bay user slcd.com put up for sale the TOD B-Side Promo CD, on it included four, never-heard-from-before instrumentals. However, due to EvFan inanity, management pulled the CD from being sold. There is a possibility that two of these songs were going to be on The Open Door, as per Renee's 18 Track CD. These two tracks may be the songs (as Renee put it) "The Band" wrote, but Amy rejected her recorded vocals for. Perhaps these are the instrumentals from them. There is a possibility that one out of the two tracks almost made it right to the end, as per John Lee's comment on 17 songs being on TOD. See former auction HERE; listen to 30 second samples of the songs HERE!
QUOTES:
Here I come to save the dayyyyyyyy!!! Ok, just kidding. There were 18 songs recorded as demo's on the cd Renee has (had...not sure if she still has it). One of those was the Narnia song in which Amy sings, it's not an instrumental. Ok, so you have the 13 tracks that are on the album and the Narnia song. That's a total of 14, meaning there are 4 unnamed and unreleased songs. Not sure if they will be B-sides or not.
[From Renee & Michelle's Posts on ev.it - ARCHIVED]
Hey guy's. I will be honest and tell you that I have not listened to Origin a lot. I was there when Ben and Amy were writing and recording it but I didn't really pay that much attention. I have all of the songs from Origin and the ones that did not make it but we really don't listen to it. Both of my kids like the new album more than Fallen. There is ALOT of choir. I don't remember hearing a lot of guitar solos but I didn't pay that close attention. "The Band" wrote 2 songs and Amy didn't like her recorded vocals so she didn't use them for the album. Also Rocky and John had wrote @ 6 or 7 songs and she didn't accept them either.
[From Renee & Michelle's Posts on ev.it - ARCHIVED]
They recorded about seventeen tracks (If I remember right) and then had to fly to New York for the big meeting around the conference table with the higher-ups at Wind-Up Records [. . .]The initial meeting turned out badly. Amy called home and was very disappointed. Wind-Up did not like the new material. They didn't hear the "hit" and they were considering scrapping the whole thing and making the band start over.
INFO: This song was played twice: during the NMPA Meeting in New York and the Legends & Lyrics in Tennessee and is slated for release (L&L DVD) sometime this century. This song is supposedly about a love that cannot work. Amy wrote this song with Tim. During the L&L it was played last in the setlist: BMTL, Lithium, CMWYS, Good Enough & Your Love.
QUOTES:
We have been informed from a very reliable source that Amy DID PERFORM A NEW SONG at the Songwriter Icon Award.. The song is called YOUR LOVE and it's a song Amy recently wrote! What can we say.. WE ARE SO DAMN CURIOUS TO HEAR IT!!! Thanks again, you know who you are!!
FOLHA - There's a new song of the band played at a concert, the fans are calling it "Wait Forever". Is this song going to be in the album?
LEE - I call this song "Your Love". It is not a good synthesis of the album. But it's great. It was one of the first songs I wrote for the new album.
(Originally from an EvThreads Interview - Now Lost )
Guy: But, um will we actually hear Your Love? We love that song for the new album.
Amy: You will, you will. I have alot of songs that . . . aren't on the album, that you'll hear. You will hear them, just maybe not tommarrow.
Guy: Ah, okay.
(Originally from FaceBook Video, ID=136760809736669; Now Lost )
Ashley: Hey, um my question to you is, uh you sang a ca-a song a w-way back five years ago called Your Love, and I was wondering where I can find this song and also I get to see you in Atlantic City, I'm actually meeting you.
Amy: Cool! [. . .] Your Love was a song that Tim and I wrote together, um originally for a soundtrack that didn't work out. Um, but yeah there's no place you can buy it right now, um but hopefully in the future we'll be able to do something with it. I think its a real cool song, right now it is just a B-Side."
(Written from the Rockline Radio Interview 10-17-11)
Poster Claims:
For Amy's final song of the evening, it was a surprise and an honor to be privy to her new song, one that had not yet been performed for a public audience. From the first few notes and syllables uttered, Lee held the crowd, including Gavin DeGraw and Dwight Yoakam, in the palm of her hand. The piece, entitled Your Love, was described as being about love that cannot work. It took a few moments for the spell to wear off once the song was over.
It is reported that "Your Love" is a working title for the song.
One thing she said that I thought y'all would like to know is that the new song she played at L&L, the one she wrote with Tim, is the one that they're calling "Your Love" for now. Kindof a working title that's stuck.
I was in the bathroom afterwards, and when I got out she, Terry and Dwight Yokam were in the hall there. Terry's doing good too, BTW everyone!
The song itself is GORGEOUS, very classic Amy/Evanescence. Melodic and haunting, very moving. It was like 1am at that point, so I doubt anyone can give you much more detail than that! Lyrics were great, and as hard as I try to remember, nothing comes back.
Waiting is hard- but it's worse for us who heard it! Such a tease to listen and then not be able to again! But knowing it is coming is better than not knowing when there will be more/new music.
Do you remember if Is there a part like "I'd wait forever for the light"?
A friend of mine who went said the first line was "I want to fly..." "it's gorgeously beautiful and epic. It's very AMY (not very "Evanescence"). More like Good Enough than anything else, yet not at all like Good Enough. (I know that makes no sense, but when/if you hear it you'll get that)"
Alright that night was incredible, and the only line I remember from the song was "Open my eyes, Teach me to cry"
^___^ and she definitely told me that there are other new songs.
It was late, we were exhausted, and honestly, I wasn't trying to remember lyrics. I was listening to the music. Amy+piano+cello in that intimate of a setting is amazing, and I was so enchanted by the music, her voice, the moment, that I didn't catch it all. I just ENJOYED. I'll get the song again later- with the DVD, with an album, somehow... I'll never get to go back to that performance, so I just soaked up the moment.
Musically it's hard to describe, but for what some people said it's very melodic, melancholic and haunting. Maybe a "haunted" version of Good Enough? lol.
Okay, guys. I am torn. The recording did work, but I don't know if I should post it. It is not high quality anyway. I feel bad for even recording it in the first place. I don't want to be the one who leaked it. I would feel awful. I don't want Amy/Tim/Terry saying..."Yeah, I know you. You're the one who leaked our song." It is a piano ballad about "love that just doesn't work." It is very beautiful. Everyone was saying how they thought that they had heard it before. Dwight even said that and praised her on stage. It was amazing. There was the cellist and her on the piano and singing. NO HARP! I think that it would be unethical to post it without having permission. Maybe Amy and Tim want want people to wait to hear it or something. I don't want to burst her bubble. I know that you guys will probably hate me for this, but I don't know what to do. What has happened in previous situations like this? Please let me know.
i can only remember some of the lyrics and i'm not sure if i remember them correctly but part of the chorus goes- i'd wait forever for the light, and another said - teach them to cry, and throughout the song she kept saying things about flying or wanting to fly.. before the song Amy said the song was about love that won't work. also the piano melody was prettier than any i've ever heard, it sounds kind of bittersweet, and it sounds very classical but better. this song to me was better than pretty much any Ev song, it was really moving i almost cried lol
Those of you that have described the new song have done a very good job. It is VERY beautiful. I deleted the audio that I recorded, so I hope that we can please drop this subject now. I've literally felt sick because of this. I got the idea from a couple people to try to record some, and I did it not thinking about the consequences. I shouldn't have done it in the first place, but I also didn't do it to be malicious. I've loved this band for over 6 years now and I have the utmost respect them. I can't wait to see the show.
The website says that Amy's episode is episode 116 - which is the eighth episode of season two (season two starts with episode 109). So depending on when the season starts her performance is towards the end of the second season....
We asked Amy about your love... she has NO IDEA of when it will be released, she just had an early demo of the song on her laptop, and it's not gonna be released with the Evanescence album
A Single Tear
INFO: Amy Lee's first ever recorded song that she had done for a project for her 8th grade English class. She wrote, and recorded the song (with a girl from her choir class as a backing vocalist) using a tape recorder. Lyrics include: "A single tear will linger here inside me forever."
Eternity of the Remorse
INFO: At eleven years of age, she wrote a sheet (sheet music) for the song Eternity of the Remorse. At the time, she wanted to be a classical composer.
QUOTES FOR BOTH:
"I think so. I don't know which one counts because at first, I thought I wanted to be a classical composer so there's one called 'Eternity of the Remorse.' It's really depressing and very dramatic. [laughs] I have the sheet written out from when I was like eleven. But then the first real song, I wrote for English class in the eighth grade. We either had to write a short story or a song. I was like, "I'm gonna do something nobody else is doing." And I wrote this song and recorded it on a cassette tape, playing guitar and singing with a friend of mine from choir who did back up vocals. It was strange to me and I kinda became obsessed with it because remembering who I was, I was like the quite girl in the corner and then I played the tape and everybody was freaking out. My teacher showed it to all the classes. It was a really cheesy song. It was called 'A Single Tear' ... "Will linger here inside me forever." Seriously, it was so bad but for an eighth grader, they thought it was pretty impressive."
INFO: Not much is known about this song, other than the fact that Amy mentioned it while talking during an interview with Steve Lillywhite (then their producer). She was going to work on the vocals to that song after the interview.
QUOTES:
Steve: So, uh, where are you going now, Amy?
Amy: Well, I think... I'm just gonna get in the cab with you and we're gonna go to the studio *laughs* and make some more awesome sounding songs
Steve: Oh, right! We're going to go to the studio... *laughs* Yeah! We're going to start singing. Do you have any ideas on how you would like to start?
Amy: I think I want to start on 'You Got A Lot to Learn'.
Steve: Right, so you've just given away a song title. *laughs*
Amy: Right. Right, I guess. That's cool! I was prepared for it when I, when it came out of my mouth.
Steve: *laughs* Yeah, so there's a song called 'You Got A Lot to Learn' on the album.
INFO: This song's name was first revealed on EvClub, and then leaked to the general masses. Amy first posted the "Stompin' Steve" TwitVid on March 19, 2010.
QUOTES: NONE TO DATE. YOUTUBE LINK: HERE! NO CLAIM QUOTES.
Never Again
INFO: Little is known about this song. It is possible that it is one of the three songs that was not recorded during the Ev LP sessions (note that Ev entered the studio with Nick, with 19 songs - only 16 made it to the Deluxe Edition of the album). Maybe only Will's part was recorded for the song, but not Amy's vocals? It doesn't seem to be a Lillywhite Demo, considering that the interview discusses Amy writing with other members of the band, something that was unique to the Ev LP era. "Never Again," however, may very well be an early name/working title for a song on the Ev LP. We don't really know *shrug* Thomas brought up the idea that two songs from the EV LP era were combined together to make "Erase This," so maybe perhaps "Never Again" was one of the two songs that was merged or something to that effect? Just a theory!
QUOTES:
His luck changed when Hunt was called to rejoin Evanescence after Amy Lee had finished her time off. He found them more open than ever to what he could offer. "Amy had been writing with the two other guys," he recalls. "Sometimes we had sessions together with all of us. I was just playing how I wanted to play and seeing where it would go. We came in with riffs and things, and it was like, 'Man, I don't know if Amy's going to go for this. It might be too much.' Like there's a song on this record called 'Never Again' that's super heavy. I thought for sure she was going to go, 'That's too much.' But she embraced it, although if she'd said 'I don't feel that,' I wouldn't have taken it as an insult. I would have said, 'Let me try something else.'"
"Nick (producer) had this awesome crazy idea of combining like two separate songs that we had that were sort of like, they both had awesome parts but weren’t awesome completed songs. So we took like the awesome verse of one and the awesome chorus of another and smash them together. I actually think that part of us really cool about the song for me is the feeling of the shift between the verse and the chorus because they didn’t originally belong together."

RELEASED? NEVER HEARD DEMOS:
Even In Death (Piano-Vocal Version)
INFO: Among the many forums that my notes takes info from, the Even In Death (Piano-Vocal Version) was, according to the poster, never released. In context, the whole post talks about how each song relates to another and is connected to every Evanescence work: The End to Solitude, Understanding on both EVA EP and SA EP, Origin with beginning quotes from Whisper (EP) and Understanding (EP), Imaginary, My Immortal, and Where Will You Go being on Origin ('second' versions of their first EP counterparts, which is where the quote for Even In Death comes in.), Anywhere having the Where Will You Go (Reprise) at the end of it, Eternal capturing the 'essence' of Away From Me, Lies (Remake), and Field of Innocnece, and Fallen having third new (album) versions: of My Immortal, Imaginary and Whisper.
QUOTES: NONE TO DATE. Poster claimed:
it's on purpose that both tracks contain that line. Evanescence always connect their work together: 'The End' (ep) has the harmonies from 'Solitude', on the 'sound asleep' ep you can find a second version of 'Understanding', 'Origin' (origin) starts with the lines from 'understanding' and the 'whisper' demo. next is the 'Whisper' demo (2000). 'Origin' also has 3 other newer versions of older songs - 'Imaginary', 'My Immortal' and 'Where Will You Go?' ('Even In Death''s original version was a piano solo + vocals, but that was never released), plus fter the song 'Anywhere' there is a reprise of 'Where will you go?'. the piece 'Eternal' captures the essense of 'Away from me', 'Lies' (remix) and 'Field of innocence'. later on, Fallen contained 3 newer versions for songs that appeared on Origin: 'My Immortal' (3 versions, to be exact), 'Imaginary' and Whisper.
That's the detail I was missing!
Even In Death (Choir Version)
INFO: Among the many forums that my notes takes info from, the Even In Death (Choir Version), was suppose to be the stuido version of their live (2003) performances of Even In Death. It makes you wonder why Even In Death was chosen to be on their 2003 early set-list if it wasn't going to be on Fallen. (EID Live in Cologne wasn't even broadcasted in German TV because it wasn't on Fallen.) As a result of mismanaged p2p and bootleg creations, people at first believed the Even In Death (Rough Mix) that was on the Not For Your Ears Bootleg/2002 Demos was a demo of EID. However, this was just a bad attempt at the bootlegers trying to put all of Evanescence's 'unheard of' material in one CD and trying to make EID seem 'demo-ish' by raising the vocals/making the guitar's rougher/longer or shorter/all that jazz.
QUOTES: NONE TO DATE. Poster Claimed:
That's because there was a rumor that they were supposed to be on "Fallen" but were scrapped the last minute and didn't make it to the demo session. And because someone mis-labeled the album name for "Forgive Me" on one of those torrents/P2P programs. And someone said that there was another recording done for "Even In Death," with a choir in the chorus, during the demo session so they could do it live. That's why they played it live. This is what people have said at other Evanescence boards, of course I don't believe them.
Farther Away (Drum Intro Version)
INFO: Among the many forums that my notes takes info from, the Farther Away (Drum Intro Version) is suppose to be the studio version of their live (2004) performances of Farther Away. At one time the poster had the song, however as a result of a computer crash, the poster lost the song.
QUOTES: NONE TO DATE. Poster Claimed:
The one that begins with the Guitar is the Fallen B-side. As Far as I know there are three recorded versions.
The guitar Intro The PIano Intro The Drum Intro
The Drum intro is the hardest to find a studio recording of. I had it a while ago, but my computer had to be formatted and I lost it.
The style of the live version is performed differently to the album track, beginning with a 4-bar percussion only intro. The repeated chorus at the end is omitted, and replaced by Amy doing vocal ad-libs for the duration of what the chorus would normally elapse. There is rumored to be a second demo of "Farther Away", that is similar to the live version, but it is proving hard to find.
Understanding (11 Minute Version)
INFO: Among the many forums that my notes takes info from, the Understanding (11 Minute Version) is suppose to be the ORIGINAL version of Understanding before the EVA EP version. According to EvBoard, however, this was a mistake on an e-Bay item that put the tracklisting for the original Ascension of the Spirit on Understanding. (So Understanding was said to have 11:48).
QUOTES: NONE TO DATE. Poster Claimed:
Also the actual version of "Understanding" on this EP is not the one listed but is a much longer (and very difficult to find) 11:48 second version. I have both the files in question
No. The 11:48 Version is a myth spread by Ebay sellers. It is listed on Not For Your Ears as a 11:48 version yet it's only the 7 minute one. There are three versions of the song, The EP one, The Sound Asleep One and the Original Acoustic.
C-Sharp (Forever You Demo)
INFO: This would be the (John's Vocals Only) original demo fo Forever You. It's called C-Sharp because that's the guitar tuning for the song. The story goes that John was playing this and Amy + Ben liked it so they 'Evanescence-fied' the song and wanted it on Fallen but didn't make the album. It's an outtake of Fallen and, according to some fans, the chours resembles Bring Me To Life. Some claim the (new) song to be called Forever Gone, Forever You; others claim it to JUST be Forever Gone or JUST Forever You. Either way, the posts that talk about this are no longer on EvBoard.
QUOTES:
Hello all! Yes Mindrage RAWKED!!!!!!!!!!!!! John did write that song as a solo thing he did between the Mindrage split & joining up with Evanescence! (that let's you know how long ago that was -hehehe) And the original version (which I am now listening to because you guys are making me remember back when - hehehe) called C sharp was all john when he recorded on our home pc. He did all the music & all the lyrics, he played it all & sang it all! So pretty - hehehe. Okay then came the lovely Ben & Amy, they loved as John loved it so added a little Evie to it and there was the beginning of Forever You. Amy did her own lyrics to that version. I think that clears up everything or makes it worse who knows! hahaha
Also, if you check out Mindrage (on the evboard b/c they are the scholars of john knowledge) you should check out Killsystem here too!!!!
INFO: Among the many forums that my notes takes info from, the My Immortal (Daredevil-Movie Grand Piano Version) is in accordance to the editing process that My Immortal went through in the movie. Some claim the song on the SOUNDTRACK is different than the Fallen Version of My Immortal (louder vocals, better piano, etc.) however, the version that is actually in the movie has a grand piano in the beginning that leads into the version that was on the soundtrack (i.e. the Fallen Version). One question would be WHY did the Daredevil people think it necessary to re-record the intro (with the grand piano) only for it to flow into the Fallen Version. Was the Fallen Version's intro not . . . err, grand enough for the funeral scene?
INFO: Among the many forums that my notes takes info from, some claim that the October version we have is a 'studio acoustic' version, not unlike the Understanding (Acoustic) one. This was made worse by the Fallen (Brazilian) 2CDs Bootleg which had October listed as 'October (Acoustic)'. Therefore, it is thought that maybe there is a 'studio' non-acoustic version of October. Some claim this to not be possible, since a regular 'acoustic' version of October would not have dual-vocals and, thus, the version of October that we have must be what they wanted as the original.
QUOTES: NONE TO DATE. Posters Claimed:
I remember back on FOI in late 2005, I described an experience of visting an old website back in late 2003. The website featured a download link to "October" and there was also a download link, listed under a separated category, that was labelled "October (EP Version)"... or something in a similar vein to that (and, unfortunately, I did not know how to download songs back then). So, I suggested the thought that there are perhaps two different versions of the song.
1999 Live Demos: Exodus (v2)/Where Will You Go (v2)/Lies (Pre-Origin Demo)
INFO: With the advent of the 1999 live recording, some on the YouTube comments and elsewhere (fourms) have begun to claim that their might (or 'should' xD) be a studio version of this Exodus which has guitar and the lyrics to the beginning of Missing at the end - just like the live version. The same with the Pre-Origin Version of Lies; most likely, this version is a demo of what was on Origin with: a drum intro, no-operatic intro and Ben's vocals (no bridge, extended guitar outro). Also the drum intro of Where Will You Go which plays before the organ would, in theory, be another demo originating from the 1999 Live Set.
QUOTES: NONE TO DATE. Posters Claim:
So, from this we can gather that there are other versions of Exodus and Lies, and a different mix of Where Will You Go with a drum intro. Interesting!
Fallen 2001-2002 Demos: My Last Breath (v2)/Hello (v2)/Taking Over Me (v4)
INFO: Among the many forums that my notes takes info from, almost every song from the 2001-2002 demos, that was on Fallen, has a secondary version to go along with it. Bring Me To Life has two, Everybody's Fool has two, Haunted has four, Tourniquet has three, Imaginary has two, Taking Over Me has two and so on, therefore why should My Last Breath, Hello (although there might be a reason as to why this would not have more than one), Whisper, and Going Under (which took long enough to find the FIRST one) not have a secondary version as well? Also, the Taking Over Me (v4) was said to have been found on the MLB forums and was a more 'electronic-techno' version of the v2 that was found at a (p2p/torrent) site along with multiple other demos. Somehow it was deleted and could not be found again. The poster claimed that the song was NOT a remix. Bring Me To Life (Wake Me From Dreaming - Save Me From Nothing Demo)/Bring Me To Life (Other Demos)/Bring Me To Life (Piano Ballad Demo)
INFO: According to the Capital FM Radio Interview with Amy + Ben 06-11-03 (nighttime), there were multiple versions of Bring Me To Life in which they had to rearrange some things over, and over, and over again. One in paticular Amy did an acapella which she sung 'Wake me from dreaming/save me from nothing/bring me to life'. One version of Bring Me To Life (out of all the multiple demos) is claimed to be a piano ballad.
QUOTES:
"Reporter: How did that song come about to be written?"
"Amy: Ben had the musical idea, with the programing, the guitars and everything. And then I just took it to my room, by myself, and wrote the lyrics and melodies and it all came out actually very, very easily, I was - I remember when I finished like the first, like I guess I wrote the whole first couple of verses all by themselves um, and I was just completely proud of my lyrics, I was like 'these are the best lyrics I have ever written' you know and I brought to Ben, I was so excited. But um, then we had a really big problem with the chorus, the chorus wouldn't come together. We wrote probably um five different chorus and recorded them, you know as demos. And uh, I still remember one of them, it's funny it's like - how does it go?
Ben: Can't tell you that.
Amy: I could, I don't care.
Wake me from dreaming, save me from nothing, bring me to life, *bum* *bum* *bum* *bum*.
Ben: Yeah, it was, I mean, it took a while to get there but.
Amy: It wasn't as good. I mean like, honestly like we were so happy with the - the verses and the words, the music and everything we just wanted to get that perfect chorus.
Ben: And the bridge especially.

Looking at the lyric sheet for Bring Me To Life makes me want to hear the piano demo she was talking about... apparently it had those lyrics "Wake me from dreaming/Save me from nothing/Bring Me To Life" and was a piano song.
i think that line was on those pictures of amys journal in 2003 . i think. and i heard that BMTL was a piano ballad once upon a time.
The Making of Fallen Demos: Going Under (v2)/Going Under (v3)/Everybody's Fool (v3)/Imaginary (v3)/Missing (v2)/Taking Over Me (v3)/Whisper (Post-O' Verona, No Choir - String Outro)
INFO: Among the many forums that my notes takes info from, some people have watched the Making of Fallen and listened to the songs that were being played. Much like the controversy of the Going Under (Demo), which proved to EXIST, some claim that the Missing played in the Making Of Fallen (with the prominent percussion xylophone like instrument during the choruses), the Imaginary played in the Making of Fallen (a fusion of v2 like music (no strings or choir) with Fallen's lyric structure), and the Whisper played in the Making of Fallen (No choirs, just David's keyboards with Amy vocalizing in the end). THANKS TO bfdx for pointing out that Going Under (v2) can be heard in in the beginning of the Making of Fallen video. Notice the differences between that demo and the one we have - see bfdx's quote below. Double A's master list (last quote) is especially helpful to figure out what we don't have. Play special attention to that quote!
hello to all the good people in the forum! I'm looking for a few files: 1) Going Under (DEMO) - I heard this one on the "making of fallen" video and can't find it anywhere. i found a few files that say they're the demo on filedonkey and kazaa, but they alll turned out to be the Fallen version 2) Missing (DEMO 2.0) - i also heard this on on the "making of fallen) video. it sounded like a version between the demo we all know from the DEMOS 2001-2002 cd or "Not For Your Ears" and the Fallen outtake. 3) Self Esteem (live - both audio and video preferable) - i found it twice on LimeWire, but with not enough sources to continue the download. i also found a russian Offspring fansite that has both audio and video, but the connection keeps restarting, so i can't complete the download.
In the Making of Fallen, Amy sings "I'm dying again" without instruments after the guitar solo, like in the Fallen version. This is absent in the demo. The song also ends with a guitar riff, like in the Fallen version, but the demo fades out at the end.
There are three demo versions of Going Under. If you listen to MOF Number 9, 2:33. They're talking about GU since they're listening to the demo.
"Take 2's the sh*t! 'Course one's out. We need to get that. And the fill in 2 outro from 3, probably."
So watching the Making of Fallen videos these are songs with other demos that we don't have: Going Under (second or third demo) Video 1, Video 4 (0:30), video 7, Video 9 (awesome strings at 1:47). All we need is the first verse, and the first chorus and someone can cut the parts together and can make this demo. lol. XD Everybody's Fool (possibly third demo) Video 8 instrumental break between "too bad we didn't know (no she)..." and "Never was and never will be". And no talking during the bridge. Imaginary (possibly a third version - video 2 0:13-0:20. Different guitars - video 2 1:02-1:33, Listen to that echo at 1:45! 2:15 to 4:23) "Old school version with clipping vocals". Missing (possibly demo 2 - Video 3 beginning 0:08 - 1:08 then 1:40, then 2:18, 2:33 - 2:46 Taking Over Me (possible demo 3 - "And dream I do..." is different) video 7 3:15 - 3:44 Whisper (post "O Verona" version - String Outro) video 1
Fallen Instrumentals
INFO: On the Anywhere But Home DVD, many instrumentals from Fallen were played: Going Under (which was released under the Going Under DVD,) Everybody's Fool (which was released under the Everybody's Fool Single), Bring Me To Life (under the Rock Band Multi-Tracks) and the unreleased: Tourniquet, Haunted, Farther Away, Imaginary and Whisper. Some assume that since two (three) of the Fallen Instrumentals were released, the others played during the ABH DVD are somewhere as well. PS: Whatever happened to the Making of Everybody's Fool ? And as a side note, THIS beginning part has a nice little remix of Everybody's Fool. Shall we call it the Loop Mix? And who doesn't love the COLORED version of My Immortal (ala Making Of).

The Open Door Instrumentals
INFO: Much like the Fallen Instrumentals, many The Open Door Instrumentals can be heard throughout the 'Making Of's' videos. None of The Open Door Instrumentals have been released, although these have been partially shown in the videos: The Only One, Good Enough, All That I'm Living For, and Snow White Queen. PS: after watching the CMWYS Making Of, I like the version with Amy blowing Oliver a kiss rather than a finger to the lips like she does in the actual video. Note that Call Me When You're Sober and Lithium instrumentals both were released in the Rock Band Multi-Tracks thing.
The Open Door Demos: Call Me When You're Sober (Original Solo)/Cloud Nine (Original Lyrics)/All That I'm Living For (Original Lyrics)/Together Again (Piano-Vocal)/Good Enough (No Intro)/The Only One (No Duck)
INFO: Originally, the The Only One (DS Remix) was thought to be the demo of The Only One but this was proven untrue by the creator of the DS Remixes. Throughout the release of The Open Door, many 'merged' mixes between the karaoke instrumentals and the album versions have been leaked on Youtube with the claim of being the demos. These are also fake. The Open Door demos have been talked about, throughout The Open Door's history. It is said that the Call Me When You're Sober (Demo) used that line as it's pre-chours and had a different guitar arrangement/no guitar arrangement to which Wind-Up protested. The Only One's original name was Tuna Afternoon after Amy and Terry creating a tuna casserole while creating the song. According to the VH1 interview, there are many lyrics which are NOT apart of the actual songs, people claim these lyrics to be apart of the demos. The site of the creator of the Evanescence font use to have The Open Door lyrics all over it and some had lyrics which didn't appear on any song making people believe that they are apart of the B-Sides. In addition, let us not forget the Together Again (Demo) which has the Good Enough intro and the Good Enough (Demo) which does not have the intro from the album version.
QUOTES:
Wind up didn't choose this single- I did, and I had to fight for it. I love this song. Also, they didn't change anything about it. This is the way we made it. We fought over the guitar part but eventually just got the mix right.
"The song is about some of my experiences as a teenager with close-mindedness. I thought the people around me seemed lost in a world that I really didn't belong in. It's kind of spiritual. We originally called the track "Tuna Afternoon," because I made tuna noodle casserole that day. We still call the song "Tuna Afternoon." Sometimes it's hard to get past that working title.
It's about breaking up. There are a lot of relationship struggles on the record. I always write about what I was feeling, because then it's genuine. I was struggling with a relationship and felt like a waste of space. The first lyric says it all, "If you want to live, let live/ If you want to go, let go/ What are we doing here?/ Because I can live without you."
6. On the song 'The Only One' you can hear a duck. What is it for?
(Yes people, finally.) Amy laughed and said: Terry and me were bored one day cos we didn't have any good ideas so we started a silly song, that we called Tuna Afternoon. I found that duck on the internet and added it. I thought it didn't sound bad and added it to 'The Only One'.
(Written from Onyrika's Interview)/ LINK (Coming Soon)
I love that song. It feels really different for us. The lyrics are about my writing process-how I put the song together, why I do it, and how I'm trying to fix all the things that are wrong with me through music. The first line says, "Save me from the night again/ I can feel the separation from the living." It's always night time when I start writing, just as the dusk is setting.
According to the suit, Lee's decision to sever ties with Rider was further spurred on by the "overt and unwelcome sexual advances" the manager made toward the singer. On one occasion, the suit claims, "he put his head in Lee's lap and ran his hand up her leg, when she sat next to him on a couch to listen to a demo of songs for her next album." There was another time when Rider "put his hand on Lee's leg while he sat next to her on an airplane." On a third occasion, he told her "that he wanted to perform a gynecological examination on her."
ps- about all this narnia crap- nothing was sliced, diced or sacrificed. The song I wrote for the movie is still in tact- when I wrote it, I wrote a really long instrumental intro that is different from the rest of the song. Its just a piece of music. It turned out to be the perfect segway into the last song on the album. chillax!
"And the group even recorded enough material for three planned B-sides - "Together Again," "If You Don't Mind," and "The Last Song I'm Wasting On You"."
So far the Narnia song is straight ballad. She may change some things or might not be on the album. There is another ballad but it has the whole band. And I'm still not sure about if or when the Narnia song is coming out. Remember that is an Amy thing?!

There are no known demo versions from The Open Door that have leaked yet. There was a supposed demo version of The Only One floating around a year or so ago, but it turned out to be a very good fan made remix mistakenly labelled as a demo. However, I remembered reading in the media section (I think it was an interview with David Fortman), that the original demo for Call Me When You're Sober used the line "Call me when you're sober" as its pre-chorus.
I think I found some lyrics to some of the B-sides at this one site (Aeryn). They're some pretty cool lyrics.
"Love lies bleeding dying If only you could see how close you came to me Turning, tearing worlds apart"
"If you believe When we believe in you"
"@ Killing Dreaming of killing time"
The words in bold and in this color are words that were crossed out.
Or I could be wrong and they could have just been thrown in there, but I doubt it.
Now...
Ready?
QUACK QUACK QUACK
Amy and Terry wasting the time one evening... no ideas... they're bored (suspense music here). Suddenly, they started to write a dumb song called 'Tuna Afternoon'. Amy found the duck on Internet and did add the quack-quack-quack. Later she thought that it was not looking completely bad and get it for 'The Only One'.
I know that you were talking about the yodeling. That yodeling is "a dumb song called 'Tuna Afternoon'", as reported by gilwellian.
"Tuna Afternoon" is the working title for "The Only One" and the little segment thing before the music starts.
Evanescence LP Instrumentals
INFO: Like the Fallen Instrumentals and The Open Door Instrumentals, the Evanescence LP also has instrumentals that have yet to be released (the only one so far is My Heart is Broken, which was released on the UK Promo Single and What You Want, under the Rock Band Multi-Tracks thing.) We have New Way To Bleed, as seen in the Making Of the album's promo pictures; and many are seen on the DVD Special (The Other Side, Sick, and The Change).
Evanescence LP Demos: My Heart Is Broken (Harp Intro)/Lost In Paradise (Piano-Vocal)/Made Of Stone (Lillywhite Demo)/Swimming Home (Lillywhite Demo)/Disappear (Piano-Vocal)/A New Way To Bleed/Take Cover
INFO: This category would consist of the Lillywhite Demos and the EV LP Demos. These demos have yet to be released, even though many (MANY) people ask for them (not like that has ever had an effect before). Some of these demos (Made of Stone (Lillywhite), Swimming Home (Lillywhite) were re-made to their EV LP counterparts. Other songs we gather from the TwitVids that they differed slightly from what we have now (Disappear (Piano Version) having different lyrics and being slower; A New Way To Bleed (note that the one on the album is JUST called New Way To Bleed, so the "A" NWTB is the distinction of the demo) with the piano bridge which has the piano instead of the harp during the "freedom" part (with no annoying backing-vocals either). And still, other songs we learn different things about from interviews (My Heart is Broken (Harp Intro), which has the beginning on harp; Lost In Paradise (Piano-Vocal), which does NOT have the band involved.) The Lillywhite Twitvids are also mysterious (1:38 AM and Another Piece of the Puzzle). It should be noted that we still don't fully know what 1:38 AM and Another Piece of the Puzzle were - despite Amy muttering something in 1:38 AM, she states she isn't singing any vocals (I always thought it may have been the MOS Lillywhite Demo myself, but I'm open to it being other things).
Fan: "You guys played a brand new song, uh "Take Cover," and I was just wondering um - it's so good by the way"
Amy: "Thanks!"
Fan: "I was just wondering, how did that song come together? How did - like, how did you guys create all of that?
Amy: "We made "Take Cover" before the last album. So as probably for the people in this room must to know that when we made Ev3, like before we put it out, we were working on a project that was like another version of it that didn’t work out and then we went back and wrote a bunch of more songs and included some of those. But we mostly made a new record that was full-on rock. It was this other style thing. So in "Take Cover" you can probably hear that the style is a little bit different, it's a little bit more attitude. And um, I don’t know how to define it exactly, but it comes from that batch of songs, same as "Made of Stone" and "Swimming Home." Um so that was like, I have a pile, we have a little pile of songs that’s like, 'This is gonna be awesome someday when we find it the right home' and "Take Cover" was like on the top of the pile. So, yeah I'm glad you like it! Thank you!"
"Lee says the group -- which also includes guitarist Terry Balsamo and bassist Tim McCord -- and producer Steve Lillywhite are currently recording about 16 songs and is "still working and ... finishing writing here and there. Some of them aren't finished lyric-wise or writing-wise, but I really feel like it's mostly there." Some of the songs, Lee acknowledges, are compositions for potential film projects that weren't used."
"That's the one that made us cry ... like, literally, just in here, working on it, there have been tears. I love that song," she told MTV News. "When I was writing it, it wasn't anything; it was just pure, it was just for me. I was literally just writing it for me, to soothe my own feelings by expressing them. And I just thought, 'Piano, vocals, I can record it by myself at my house, and that'll be the track. ... It'll be a B-side somewhere or something.'
"[But] then ... as we were working on other songs - focusing more on rock songs - I kept listening to it for fun, because it was mine, and I sent it to [producer] Nick [Raskulinecz] and I was like, 'I want you to listen to this. ... The more I listen to it, the more I think it means something,' " she continued. "And he, instantly, was like, 'We have to do that song.' And it was his idea to bring the band into it, and at first, I was totally like, 'I don't get that.' But once we did, it just blew the thing wide open, in a way I had never thought about before. It's perfect; it's meant to be the way it is."
Uh, let's see, this is another one from that session when we wrote What You Want. Um, actually the song at first we were jamming Tim and Terry and I. I actually used to play that piano part on the harp because it was a lot slower and a little bit easier. And then it just got faster and faster at pre-production with the band. Um, and when we get into recording I was like cool, get at the harp and I was like 'Nah, this is not possible anymore, it's way fast'! So it's a piano part, actually I think it sounds better as a- as a piano part. It's more prominent, it's a stronger instrument so you're hearing it a little bit more.
This is one of the oldest songs, this is something that was from that sort of more electronic phase that I was going through, a couple years ago. Um, I love this one, I feel like it's strong and defiant and badass and it only got better when the band started really being involved in it and writing that guitar part and everything about it. Um, I feel like it popped up in a big way, uh when the guys got involved. But I've always loved that one, I think it has a very cool, dark, sexy quality.
Swimming Home is definitely the truest picture of that sort of electronic-very different phase that I was going through for a little bit.
Is it true that you used to write down some of the new songs on the harp and which ones?
Yeah, there's not harp all over the album, just a little bit. On the deluxe edition with all the songs, which are sixteen, there are three with a little bit of harp on them, but on the regular cd it's actually only one. One song, "My Heart Is Broken" (have you heard the music?), that piano part . . . Actually I wrote that on my harp but the song was much slower when we first wrote it. It was me and Terry and Tim sitting around with their guitars and I was playing harp. It was really fun to write that way cause it's new for me, it kinda makes you create in a different way, because it plays differently! So that's how that part was written but then, when we got to making the record and working on the songs as a whole band, with the drummer and everything else, the song got faster and faster and faster as we did it and then by the time we got into the studio I was like "Right, let's do this! Got the harp, here we go!" Way too fast! It was very very hard to play, like impossible for me, so now it's a piano part (laughs, ndr). But, yeah, I think that, if I hadn't written it on the harp, it wouldn't be that part because I wouldn't made all the notes going up like that.
Michael: I heard since the Open Door Amy Lee learned to play the stand-up harp. How much did the harp add depth to the new album?
Amy: You know what, um the album ended up being heavier than I ever could have imagined. Um, due to working with the guys more than ever. So there's harp on it but not a lot. Um, it's on Secret Door, A New Way to Bleed, and Swimming Home. So if you buy the standard it's only on Swimming Home. But if you buy the deluxe it's on three songs. Um, I did actually use it to write My Heart is Broken, the song you just heard, um but then when we got into pre-production it got faster and faster and faster to the point where I couldn't play it on the harp anymore. So it ended up being a piano part at the end of the day.

PLAYED! NEVER HEARD LIVES:
Baby One More Time (Britney Spears Cover)
INFO: According to The Edge New Zealand Interview 2003 with Amy Lee, Evanescence was on a type of gameshow with a Radio Station and had to perform a coversong. They spun the wheel and it landed on Britney Spears' 'Baby One More Time' song. So they sung it acoustically with 'Evanescnece style' and it was eventually going to be released onto a Charity CD. This was done sometime in 2003, some claim the during the Fall. The song, however, which Amy believed would quickly be leaked onto the internet, never made it's way and was thus never found.
QUOTES:
"Reporter 1: Hey, thank you very much for being a good sport there and singing - and singing the Sir Mix A Lot song, that's was a really great choice.
Reporter 2: That was fun
Amy: Yeah well, if you can find it, just so you know, we did a really hilarious Britney Spears' cover over here a couple of days ago and...
Reporter 2: With who?
Amy: With - with who?
Reporter 2: Yeah
Amy: It was us. It was just acoustic and uh we did it like Evanescence. They do this gameshow here on one the - one of the radio stations where they like spin the wheel and like you do a song.
Reporter 2: Do you remember the station?
Amy: And uh it was really hilarious. I know they are gonna probably be putting it on a CD for charity or something. Just - It's probably going to be on the internet instantly. But it's - it's 'Hit Me Baby One More Time'. If you see that and Evanescence in the same sense, in - on the computer than that's probably it.
Reporter 1: Wow

Only Happy When It Rains (Garbage Cover)
INFO: Almost every discography which has a 'cover' section lists 'Only Happy When It Rains', as a cover, although no recording as of yet exists. Most likley, many people looked towards the Exodus Evanescence Discography and just copied down what was written there. Only Happy When It Rains is rarer than Don't Fear The Reaper. It seems it was played in 2002 at Juanita's, as per the quote below. I've also added a quote stating that Don't Fear the Reaper was played before the 1999 live set that we have.
QUOTES:
The crowd as pretty packed the entire night, but it seemed to fill up even more when Evanescence came on stage. They started their set off with "Whisper," which got the crowd cheering in excitement. When Amy started to sing, I was overwhelmed by her beautiful voice. She sounded the same live, if not better, than she does recorded. They played several new songs from their new album, which is supposed to be out next summer. They threw in some older stuff for the crowd as well. People compare them to Garbage, which I can't really see, because I've only listened to a few of their songs. Well, they played "I'm Only Happy When It Rains" by Garbage. Amy sounded just like Shirley Manson while playing the cover. The crowd really seemed to enjoy it. What was the most amazing part of their performance to me, was the fact that the crowd seemed to know every song by heart. They would sing along with her, and that's rare at local concerts, especially a band that doesn't play live very often. I encourage everyone to see these guys live at a small venue while you can, because in a year or two, you might be seeing them on the dreaded MTV, and only playing in large arenas.
My first time back at Juanita's in half a year, and damn was it a good return. Three awesome bands putting on an awesome show! Great job to all of the bands out there!
I saw them preform "Dont Fear The Reaper" back in 1998 when I was living in bryant arkansas. they did it at a battle of the bands at my old church called "Family Church" just outside the main part of town on the service road just a few hundred yards from the over pass. Boo Yah! they rocked it. and I seem to remember there being atleast 2 keyboards in use when they did it.

There is no recording of Driven Under with Amy. It was performed live once, and never recorded.
it was performed live a few times with amy taking the second verse of the song. i've only heard of it being performed three times, once in northern ca, once in boston at a waaf show, and the other time someplace else which i can't remember. i haven't come across any recordings of it yet.
I think you might have meant the WBCN 9th Annual River Rave in Boston
What sucks more is that my friends were suppose to go to this show, but never made it.
9th Annual WBCN River Rave 2003 Date: May 25, 2003 Venue: Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts, Mansfield, MA
Bands: Beck, Good Charlotte, Jack Johnson, Saliva, (Dropkick Murphys), Evanescence, (AFI), Seether, The Used, (Finch), The Donnas, (Interpol, Hed(pe), Hot Hot Heat, The Ataris, The Dresden Dolls, Donald Glaude, Charles Feelgood and Dave Ralph) Rating: *** Comments: Evanescence was SUPERB of course. Other good bands included Seether, The Donnas, Saliva, and Jack Johnson. The Used made me scared. Amy Lee of Evanescence running out on stage to sing with Seether during "Driven Under" was certainly a highlight. I got my Evanescence CD cover autographed by them, that was pretty sweet. What was not cool was the fact that you had to buy the Evanescence CD to get to meet them! Obviously anyone who likes them enough to want to wait in line to meet them already has the CD! STUPID SCAM! Luckily my awesome boyfriend was willing to buy himself a copy so that I could meet them...isn't he sweet?
i'm pretty sure she did it at one of the HOB shows here in hollywood but don't hold me to it. i know she did a song, and i know it wasn't 'broken' but it really could have been anything. it all happened pretty fast and i'm not one to remember details like that.
She did it in Tulsa, Oklahoma
I was at the river rave..right in the front row...it was right when they had just starting dating and shaun also had the shaved eyebrows. i have pics of her singing with him but i never scanned then .
I was at the WBCN River Rave And Amy did sing on Driven Under. It was verrry good.
You're The One I Want (Duet Shaun + Amy)
INFO: It seems like Amy and Shaun sung one night (either at karaoke or on a radio show) a duet of You're The One I Want from Grease. How this is known (whither it was heard or witnessed) remains to be found out. Like Driven Under, One Thing (2004), the snippets, etc. this seems to have the 'only performed once and never recorded' type stigma to it.

yeah i heard she did that too. i've heard the baby got back song too. SO FUNNY! i was cracking up hearing her sing that.
her and Shaun also did "Your the One I want" from Grease.
Jack's Lament (Danny Elfman Cover)
INFO: According to recent posts on EvThreads, Amy has played Jack's Lament as a snippet on the piano in between songs (most likely when the band has to prepare for a more complex song.) When this was done (and in between what songs) is still unknown at this time. According to one quote, if it was found two years ago, one may assume that she performed it during the 2007 live sets.
QUOTES: NONE TO DATE. Poster Claims:
sorry, it was nearly two years ago and i can't remember what i typed to get to it. i think the title was in spanish and i think she played the music box sound and "something's up with jack, hope he hasn't died" and the video ended. i really wish i could remember! after i heard her play it, i went out and got the sheet music for it and learned it, lol. sorry. :/
now that i think about it, i'm kinda surprised amy didn't cover jack's lament. i remember her playing some of it on the piano between songs on youtube.
oh well.
i can't wait
Bring Me To Life (Feat. Shaun)
INFO: According to the Seether-Online fourms, Amy Lee would come onto Seether Live Sets and sing Driven Under with Shaun, while Shaun would come onto Evanescence Live Sets and sing Bring Me To Life with Amy. It seems this was done on August 3, 2004, in Noblesville, Indiana: Verizon Wireless Music Center, despite the quote from the Seether fan-site stating it was the next day in Kentucky, since that concert was apparently cancelled.
QUOTES:
Bring Me To Life - > Originally Performed by Evanescence - Shaun has guested with Evanescence singing Paul McCoy's vocal parts live. No known bootleg versions have surfaced.
We talked about it just before my set. Shaun's been wanting to do it for awhile and it just felt like a good night for it - seeing as Seether had 3 different guest appearances that night with the whole dale in the hospital thing. Besides, i jump up on their set every night to do broken and i think it was about time he did it to us. Its fun to change things up now and then.
Major highlights of the evening: 1. Will B. (ev) and Markus from Breaking Benjamin had to fill in for Seether's bass player Dale, because he had his appendix taken out the night before.
2. Instead of John singing the male vocals on BMTL, Shaun came out and did them. It was great too because on the first verse he came in a little late. Then when he was supposed to say "THere must be something more" it seemed like he just screamed. It was great.
3. Amy lost her place on My Immortal right before the band kicked in. It was just her singing with Rocky tapping the symbol. You could see the big smile on Rocky's face when he realized.
4. During Whisper right at the end, Amy's mic quit working so she threw it on the stage and just started wiggling and head banging.
Bring Me to Life (Louisville, KY, on August 4, 2004) - Shaun Morgan
Thunderstruck (AC/DC Cover)
INFO: According to posts on EvThreads, Evanescence, sometime ago, covered this song as a snippet. Perhaps this was around the time Evanescence was covering their other AC/DC snippet, Highway to Hell?
QUOTES: NONE TO DATE. Poster Claims:
Thunderstruck by AC/DC (Snippet) and One by Metallica (Snippet) fit the covers section too.
Songs with Paula Cole
INFO: According to Paula Cole's MySpace blog posted on Wed. January 14th, 2009, at 3:36 PM, she sung some covers (Neil Young) and a "traditional Appalachian song" with Amy Lee at Paula's last show in Long Island (I wonder when that was). Of course, YouTube has no idea what this is - so it probably is another lost duet/live moment. *sad face*
Hi All. Just wanted to mention how lucky I've been to get to know Amy Lee. I remember the moment I heard her voice (while at a spin class feeling the hate and then that VOICE delivered me!) Well, come to find out she's a great heart and a music geek like myself (!)We've bonded a bit in friendship and music: we found ourselves discussing and loving songs, trying ideas together.I love the intensity of our two voices together. Really, it's quite the energy-vitamin shot. So, I had the fortune of her presence at my last show in Long Island. We sang a couple of covers (Neil Young and a traditional Appalachian song). Loved it, loved it, loved it. Thank you, Amy, and hope there is more where that came from.
Now I'm in the cocoon of the writing-mind. I am loving being here. Lately I'm finding wings in new songs, working and envisioning the next album. This is what I love to do, and I feel very lucky. Coming through the darkness with diamonds...Many thanks, and love, Paula.

AMY'S SOLO SONGS:
Amy's "Folk" Music
INFO: After TOD was written, there was some uncertainty as to what Amy will do - whether that was a solo record, a movie soundtrack, or another Evanescence album - eventually a third album would be recorded, however, Amy extensively wrote her own music for a couple of years while Evanescence was inactive.
QUOTES:
"I need to show that I'm more than a one trick pony. I'm writing here at the house by myself and it's been really good. But I'd really like to do something different next. [The new songs] are definitely different. I feel like I'm going back to my really old roots. They have more of my folky and Celtic influence than ever before."
The Gauntlet: Would that be a solo project or with Evanescence?
Amy: I don't know what is happening. I am at a point where I don't know what is next: a solo project or a film. I am really interested in film scoring. I always have been. I have just known that I needed to ride the Evanescence thing while that was going. I loved the Open Door and that was a big thing for me. I have always had a true love for writing music for film. I have my foot in the door enough and can meet people now. I just need to find the right project for me and one that I am passionate about. It could take a while. I am hoping for that and some people who have some faith in me and to write the music for it. Other than that, I am still writing songs. I don't know what they are going to be for though.
Lee is co-writing the album with old friend and new collaborator Will Hunt, a producer, programmer and drummer from Fort Worth, Texas. The pair decided to start writing together after arranging "Sally's Song," Amy Lee's addition to 2008's Nightmare Revisited album and spent all of 2009 writing together in New York and Texas, crafting a handful of already-recorded electronic programming that will end up on the forthcoming record. "The sounds and influence he brings to the table - programming outer-space awesome sounds you can't even recognize. I went through a phase where I didn't know if it was solo time, or go write score music, or what," says Lee. "And then once we wrote together, I realized this is totally Evanescence."
Evanescence took about two years off. Why return now?
For a long time I didn't know what I wanted to do. I really love scoring film and that was definitely where my head was. I took a few stabs at doing that, but then I started writing more songs. I had such a good time in the studio with Will "Science" Hunt recording "Sally's Song" -- it was a cool, free, creative space. So we thought, "Why don't we just try writing an original song?" He has a studio in Forth Worth, TX, and we spent two days down there writing and a new song came out that was so different -- it was dark and inspiring. It was a groove that I hadn't found in a long time. So we spent all of last year writing like crazy and somewhere halfway through I said, "You know, I think we're writing an Evanescence album."
When we last spoke in 2008, you were writing Celtic inspired songs for a solo album. Any plans for that?
I was in a very different creative space then, before hooking up with Will "Science." I wrote a couple of songs that are good, but in a totally different direction. Nothing from that period is making it to the new record.
Reporter: "Uh and then, I have to ask, you know, you mentioned Sally's Song and um, you know, the solo stuff, are you ever going to do a solo record? I know your focusing on Evanescence right now."
Amy: "I dunno, yeah."
Reporter: "But cause, I, I read something about Celtic influence and that was pretty rad to hear and, I dunno, are you ever going to do it?"
Amy: "Uh I, that was sort of a misunderstanding. I said folk and they thought I meant Celtic. I meant like, Neil Young, but that's okay."
Reporter: "Yeah, yeah."
Amy: "Um, I like some Celtic music, uh anyway, uh um I dunno where I."
Reporter: "They're going to be gigging on you"
Amy: "Yeah exactly, um, I'm not I-I don't want to say yeah or no for sure but I think it's highly possible that, down the road on some point, I'll do a solo record. I got so much music now, that's more suited towards that then Evanescence, that I really believe in and don't want to go to waste. So, I think at some point it is inevitable that I'll be doing something else too, but absolutely right now all I can think about is, is Evanescence and this new record."
Amy: You know, I I at first it was because I was I didn't watch the first movie, I was like 'yeah whatever I got over vampires in high-school.' And then like, and then, then it was kinda like 'hey maybe I, they were like maybe you should write a song for the movie' and I was sorta like 'ooh!' So I read the book and I wrote some songs and it didn't work out cause they have these cool hipster people that are do Twilight stuff, so it didn't really work out but then I was kinda into it so I read the next books.
(Written from Interview after Premiere What You Want MTV: LINK - COMING SOON)
James: She was showing me photos of her house and all this stuff. One of the most amazing things that I learned from hanging out with them is that they've never been involved with a Twilight movie. And 2, how angry that makes them. They were like actively campaigning "We wanna be in Twilight!"
Girl: Twilight was written for evanescence.
James: I Know! Amy told me, 'you know, I got over vampires when I was in high school' was her quote, and then--
Girl: I was into it when it was still cool, I was in to indie vampires.
James: One of her friends gave her the books, and she was like instantly enthralled, and just started writing all of these songs. Like, one of them is specifically on their record which comes out in October.
(Originally from an MTV Video - Bigger than Buzz Episode 3; Now Lost )
Amy: But, for the love of the thing I can defiantly see myself doing it. I write a lot of music, you know, and I've, I've learned, you know over the past few years when I was writing again and gearing up to make this record um, some of it is Evanescence, and some of it is not. You know I have a lot of songs that aren't for the band, that I realized you know that Evanescence really is a certain thing. Um, so I think it's totally possible that that's going to happen at some point. I don't have a plan for it right now, its been really cool being back with the guys and, and the full, full power of these shows, you know, is um, something I couldn't accomplish by myself. So it's been really fun doing this now, but I defiantly think this is something that could happen in the future.
Reporter: Yeah, I think a lot of people would embrace it.
The only song cut from Amy Lee's children's album Dream Too Much.
Fan: But I was just curious about your new album. I noticed that it's a little . . . short. About 30 minutes long. I was curious are there any cut songs that you guys have, or?
Amy: We, there is one!
Fan: There is one?
Amy: Um, there's a song that I was named after called 'Amie,' it's by Pure Prairie League and um one of the things I wanted to record in the beginning when we didn't know that we were making an album yet, was that song. Um, so we've got this really cool version of me, my dad, and my uncle doing 'Amie,' um that isn't on the album and I don't have a plan for it. It's just ours right now but I'll probably release it at some point. It's kind of country. You have to get into that.
Fan: I can get into that.
Amy: You have to think about that.
Fan: What if we are?
Amy: You have to digest that for a second.
Host: Maybe that's a new project for you, country? Amy Lee does country?

“Amy had been writing with the two other guys,” he recalls. “Sometimes we had sessions together with all of us. I was just playing how I wanted to play and seeing where it would go. We came in with riffs and things, and it was like, ’Man, I don’t know if Amy’s going to go for this. It might be too much.’ Like there’s a song on this record called 'Never Again' that’s super heavy. I thought for sure she was going to go, ’That’s too much.’ But she embraced it, although if she’d said ’I don’t feel that,’ I wouldn’t have taken it as an insult. I would have said, ’Let me try something else.’” - Will Hunt (Drum Magazine interview - 2011)

Ooh! I hadn't seen this before. Thank you all
*Added to Mill*
P.S. Can someone find me the source (I think it was an interview) where they stated they (i.e. the band) entered the studio with 19 songs and recorded only 16 of them? It says that on the EvReference, and I remember reading it *somewhere* I was just wondering what the source of it was. Maybe this song is one of those three that was not fully recorded? Someone should ask Amy about it.

Maybe this. But I think it's one where Will says that, but it was deleted because the band's manager asked the website to delete it.

I think it's a combination between that article and this one:
COM: 8/28/12. New Medicine, Cavo, Halestorm, Chevelle, Evanescence. COM: 5/07/15. Starset, The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm. 3/01/16: Silver Sankes, The I Mighty, Glassjaw, Coheed & Cambria. Synthesis Live: 10/30/17 Story of the Year, Taking Back Sunday, Coheed & Cambria: 07/22/2018
I think he's mistaking that for Never Go Back, since he said that it was "on the record".
You know, I was thinking that. Especially since, by the time WYW was being played on MTV for the first time, the band was still calling the song "Orange," so perhaps he forgot what the song was called/was getting use to what the song was called and accidently called it that? It did cross my mind . . . especially since Never Go Back is, after all, super heavy
Are their more info about the intro played in Maquinária Festival/NYC Secret Show in 2009? Some fans call it "Lost Whispers".
I don't know if that's an official title or not, but I know in an interview Amy said it was sort of like a prayer, calling the old music back to her. "Lost whispers, awaken within me and fly..." Other than that, I don't think theres anything else behind it.

Indeed, I'm weary about the intros only because, well . . . remember that Fallen Intro in 2003? (i.e. the beginning of THIS). That was never given a name either, and it opened most of Fallen's 2003 sets. I don't seem to remember if the TOD era had any (other than an extended Lose Control intro, but that's no different to Haunted's 2004 extended intro, or the one they are giving What You Want now and days).
I kinda thought that, what the fans call "Lost Whispers," was just going to be the intro to that era (of Lillywhite Songs), like they did with Fallen 2003. But since those got axed, the intro isn't played anymore. I don't (personally) think the intro was ever recorded officially (since Ev doesn't seem to do instrumentals anymore ), but anything is, afterall, possible.
