Let's not jump to conclusions. Let's just be really optimistic about their break and hope it's not as long as the breaks between TOD & Ev album

Probably going to be a folk album and I wouldn't necessarily say that Amy is already working on a solo album now.

Then go ahead, Amy! I've always wanted to hear what she could do as a solo artist, outside Evanescence, without having to consider what works and what doesn't work for the band. I'd like Ev to continue, because i think they're better than ever with the new line up, and still have a bunch of room to grow, but if Amy decides going solo, i'd be more than happy anyway. I've always wanted to hear what she could come up with. I'm sue it'd sound pretty different from Ev and that's the most exciting part of it all imo. Also, i can picture Amy collaboratin with a lot of different artists with innovative ideas, and she wouldn't have to worry about what "fits" like she has to do now with Ev, giving up fresh ideas because they don't "fit" Ev (or the label doesn't believe they fit). So, i'd be happy.

Electro + folk: COOL!
I've been listening to some folk songs lately... for some months now, and I'm loving it.

OMG! i love ev/amy as a rock band but that must have been the best news i've heard since the last album came out!!! For me it was quite obvious with the making for this album that she was totally heading that way but decided to bring back the "loud guitars" after she realised she could work with the guys and make music in a different way than she was used to.. i'm seriously so excited she stated that more clearly! ;D ;D ;D just imagine an album with electronic songs, songs like "stomping steve", acoustic, propably a piano song ft the perfect voice of amy lee!!! and everyone.. DON'T FREAK OUT! THAT DOESN'T MEAN EVANESCENCE IS ENDING! AS FAR AS THE "MUSIC ARTIST" LIVES IN AMY THERE WILL ALWAYS BE THE ROCKSTAR AMY TOO

Interesting read. No, I don't it's the end of Evanescence at all. Despite taking an extended break, they've all said they love, love this line up and feel really strong. That they want to do another album together. So, I don't think the break is anything to worry about. They've for sure earned it. Troy and Will both have kids, so I'm sure they're excited to get to spend good extended quality time with their families. Well, same for all of them. As much as they tour, I'd sorta worry about them going right back into it again, (new record, big tour etc..) I wouldn't want that to drain them so, so much they burn out really bad. Like she did after the TOD.
Amy thinking about a solo album is a great thing in my opinion. There's nothing wrong with her exploring more of her musical sides. It sorta says she really has grown and is different place than the past. She's comfortable enough with EV that she can think on outside projects. She's very dynamic with tons of talent for so much and it'd be shame if she didn't give new ideas a try. It'll actually probably be better for a new EV record. If she were to record a new album but her mind is still kind on other ideas, then she wouldn't be putting her full heart into the new stuff. And she's the kind to put her full heart in. I'm really excited to hear what she'd cook up for a solo project. Even if it's way different, I still think it'd be awesome. I highly doubt Amy would allow herself to put out a bad bunch of music. LOL
Besides, a lot of artists tend to do solo projects etc.. outside of their main band. Look at how many project Correy Taylor has going on. LOL Anyhow, a lot of these articles seem to be taking quotes and then interpreting them as they see it. I highly doubt they're putting up her entire quotes much less in the complete context in which she said them. EV will go on!!

This would be intresting, I don't like dance music, but folk should be good! I'm sure Ev will still be there, I wonder if this extended break is for Amy to maybe have a baby! Possibly...and/or try to do a side project and write Ev songs

Hopefully something actually comes from this... She likes to talk about what she wants to do, but she certainly doesn't like to let us hear it.

My dream is that she releases solo work and film scores alongside Evanescence albums.
