Me and my amazing team had the chance to interview Amy. She was so lovely!! 1. First of all, we want to thank you for this interview. It means a lot to us. No problem! Can’t wait to see you guys again. 2. In the Spotify chat, you said the working title for “My Heart is Broken” was ‘Metalocalarp’. Can you tell us more about it? Tim, Terry and I wrote the song together at my house in NY. Tim programmed a simple drum beat on the computer and looped it, and I started jamming that piano riff on the harp, and then Terry came in w the guitar. We loved it right away, and once we got together with the rest of the band, it really came to life. We almost always have stupid temporary names for songs before we get the lyrics written and name it for real. Metalocalypse+harp= Metalocalarp 3. What advice would you give for a person who’s going through hard times? It depends what you’re going through, of course. We are complex- but I think this one emotional need is universal: we need to feel understood. We need to feel like we’re not the only one who has ever felt the pain we are feeling. I often find that connection through music. It has the power to express more than words can say. But we need eachother, in the end. Share your heart, don’t lock it away. 4. I need to thank you for introducing me to Massive Attack’s last record, Heligoland. What’s your favorite song of it? My favorite ones are “Pray for Rain”, “Paradise Circus”, “Girl I Love You” and “Atlas Air.” I have a special love for “Paradise Circus”. I was just listening to it yesterday- seriously one of my favorite songs, it has such a sad and beautiful feeling. 5. Out of curiosity, have you already listened to Björk’s new album, Biophilia? Did you like it? Yes, it’s very unusual (as always!) my favorite song is “Crystaline.” 6. If you were called to play a role in a movie, would you accept it? For the right part in the right movie, absolutely! I’d love to be a part of something really creative and unique. 7. Who was your favorite character from the LOST television series and why? Ooh, GOOD one! Sawyer!!!! Because underneath the tough cowboy outlaw, he’s sensitive and has a good heart. 8. We all know you’re a huge Adventure Time fan and it seems you want to be part of it; if they ask you, would it be a dream come true? Yes, it would absolutely be a dream come true- I’ve been trying to get a guest spot on my favorite cartoons for years and never succeeded! (Space Ghost, Metalocalypse, Aqua Teen..) I know I could nail it! 9. What are you listening to at the moment? Any favorite bands or albums? Since touring with Halestorm I’ve become a fan. I really like their new album and singing “Break In” with Lzzy has been really awesome (because right now it is my favorite song!) 10. What happened to those songs recorded during the Lillywhite sessions? Are you gonna back to the studio to finish them and maybe release them as a solo work or something? We know some of them were reworked and are on the new self-titled record and are curious. We can’t legally use anything we recorded in that session w Steve. The songs are ours so we can rerecord whatever when we are ready. Some of them are really special and I would love to redo them someday. I don’t have a plan yet, we’re going to take some time to regroup after this tour. 11. Is that electronic/trip-hop vibe you went through a few years ago is gone? No way. 12. About 3 years ago, you performed “Your Love” at Legends & Lyrics and they’re going through some financial problems and maybe we’ll never get the live version of this new song, any plans to release it someday? Or put it into the next release? Well, since L&L owns the recording, they control what happens with it. I hope if nothing else they just upload it to YouTube or something, it was really cool. 13. In April, you sang along with Paula Cole and Ashley Arrison at Restore Freedom Gala, and many fans were saying you guys did a great job and should record those songs in the studio. What do you think about that? What about releasing an EP with them for fundraising? I’m totally open to something like that. I love singing with other women, I miss choir and love harmonizing. Also its just cool to be able to work with your friends! Sometimes though, it’s a really beautiful thing when something special happens just once, just live. 14. My Chilean friend Javier asked me to ask it to you: In a recent interview, you said the South American fans are the strongest ones, so in this South American tour, do you think the band will have more confidence and influence on media? And do you remember of the Chileans fans along your last visit to the country? South American fans are our most vocal for sure! Your passion for music is inspiring! It’s a special treat to play concerts down there because the response is so strong. All we ever want to see is a crowd freak out the way they do in Brazil, Argentina, Chile etc. In this time in music, rock music especially, when it comes to mainstream media I don’t have much confidence. I doesn’t seem like it’s really about what’s actually popular anymore, it’s all about what some businessman thinks you will buy next. I’m not interested in changing myself to be accepted, I already have you guys. Let’s rock! 15. What excites you the most about coming to South America? Especially Brazil. The shows, of course. And this time we have some free days in between shows where I think we will really get a chance to explore and enjoy it. I’m gonna try to make it part tour, part vacation! 16. In a recent interview, you said you were planning to cover a Michael Jackson song, are you going to do this on your next tour (in South America)? No, but we have something special planned that you will like even better. Something you haven’t heard. 17. Do you still have your stage outfits from the Fallen and Open Door tours? If so, what have you done with them and will you ever wear them again? Some of them. I keep the special things. I still use some of that stuff too! I think some pieces would be really cool to auction off for charity. 18. Thank you so much for this interview. Now send a message to your brazilian/south american fans. We can’t wait to see you and the guys in our country. I can’t thank you enough for your support over the years, you amaze me. We are all excited about the tour- there is no way I’d rather end this year than with our friends in South America!! We love you! Such an awesome interview thank you! I like how Amy says that they are going to 'regroup' after the tour... I guess thats when they will decide if they are going to jump back into another record or have a bit of a break. I really really hope that they keep the momentum going ;D Hopefully we get Stompin Steve (reworked) on the next record!!

I love organised fan interviews! They really should do more like these! We get to hear the things we really want to hear They should organise some interview where we get to send in questions and vote for the top 30 questions to get asked or something. That'd be mint.

I friggin love interviews like this! New questions rock! It's awesome (and a little bit sad) that Amy tried to get a guest voice actor for Metalocalypse and they denied her! That would be flipping SWEET to see Amy in Metalocalypse! Thanks for sharing!

Actually, we'd ask the fans to send their questions for this interview, we'd choose the best ones and ask them to Amy, but we decided that should be our little surprise. Thank you for all the compliments.

Great job once again! Yes, fan interview are almost always much better than the ones that journalists who don't give a f*ck about the band make.
I wonder what surprise they prepared for you, guys.

Thanks for the interview. I wonder if Amy also bought the app for Biophilia. That sounds interesting, it would be so awesome if it turned out to be something we've never heard instead of just songs that we've never heard live before (although that would be cool too if they rearrange them a bit/lot ).

This is probably one of the best interviews we've had all year, thank you so much for this!
I hope the surprise is an outtake from TOD, possibly 'If You Don't Mind!' Aah, i can dream!

A really awesome and sweet interview!! If there's an award to the most dedicated Ev fans... That would go to the Brazilian one for sure! You're so organized!! Congrats! 41 days left to know what's that "something you've never heard".... Something we've never heard AT ALL... not even on record...?? If that's so, options get narrowed ... I'm so damn excited I can't even think clearly!!
