Does anyone know what synthesizers are used in the songs, besides the Korg; whether it's a software program or hardware?
Anyone know of a good free synthesizer program?

I've read that they used a Moog Synth... mmm There's a plugin for FL Studio

I would imagine that it's most likely a combination, although I seem to remember seeing a Midi keyboard in the studio on the special features DVD of the last album and I know Amy uses Pro Tools a lot. Most likely they programme the synth sounds using different software and then trigger them using a Midi keyboard when they come to record the synths. Live, Amy uses the Korg and Roland synths and I think Tim uses a Moog Taurus. Since it sounds very similar to the original recording, they no doubt incorporated some of this hardware and then fine tuned the sounds with software in the studio. Perhaps they record some samples from the hardware, play with the sound a bit in Pro Tools then trigger the samples using the Midi keyboard? I'm afraid my experience of recording stuff is pretty limited so this is just my best guess. I don't use it much myself since I'm awkward and use the much more crude eJay software, but the results you can get from FL are amazing. There's every chance that Evanescence used FL Studio somewhere along the line. Would definitely recommend it (: |

The Moog Taurus is used in Oceans and I think I heard it in a couple other songs. and thank you guys! I'll have to try and find FL when I get home. I would really like to know synth they used in Whisper that makes that bassy passthrough noise during the verses.

The Moog Taurus is used in Oceans and I think I heard it in a couple other songs. and thank you guys! I'll have to try and find FL when I get home. I would really like to know synth they used in Whisper that makes that bassy passthrough noise during the verses. I think you heard in that "Sick" intro. |
