I don't wanna poop on anyone's party, but I can't see LIP as hit material. I just can't. Look around and check what people listen to the most nowadays. It's far far, couldn't be further from what Evanescence has been doing with this album. It will happen just like what happened to MHIB. Maybe it was lack of promotion and advertisement, maybe it's the band's style that doesn't appeal as much to people as it used to. It's a bunch of factors, it's not just about money. It won't even be as big as TOD, so it will never ever be as big as Fallen (commercially speaking). I love Evanescence, of course, but I can't see 90% of people (commercially spaking, again) liking the style they have taken on this last album.

I forgot to ask her/them about the LiP video, I actually remembered to ask about it, but I didn't want to bother the guys 'cause they were signing and talking to the other fans. Really sorry guys!!!
According to the MTV Brazil interview, it seems they haven't recorded it yet or we're not getting the video.

I would agree with you here if you are talking about the album version of LIP it's too slow and takes too long build up and people would lose interest, but have you heard the radio edit? I think that would appeal to people listening to mainstream radio. I think the radio edit of LIP has more radio quality that any of the songs on the album. It has the most potential to spark some sort of interest, but it's a bit late for that.

I actually like the radio edit, but I think that only a few radios would put it on air, but yes, it's a bit interesting for radios and such, but, without video, it won't go too far. I'm a a big apologist of videos, as you can see, lol. I've always believed that videos are a huge "power-up" to any song and/or band. I feel like Ev is being left behind by their label. Feels like they don't really believe much in the band's potential anymore.

Yep I too think that this radio edit plus a really good video could have potentially been the most successful song on this album, but alas Wind-Up do not seem interested in promoting Ev at all

Even with amazing promotion, i don't see this album doing near as good as Fallen, in that i agree with you. Those were old times, audiences change and now people look for other types of music.
But, with the right promotion, i see this album doing very good among those people who are open to the rocky sound and some of the poppy melodies a lot of this album's songs have. In terms of friendly songs, i think this albums has way more of those than TOD. I just think they're trying to sell the album to the wrong audience. I see a big percentage of those people who liked the radio edit of LIP, getting bored as hell when listening to the original and thinking "WTF is this BS?" when they finally get to hear NGB or ET on Youtube, for example. But if they stopped trying to sell the album to the general audience, maybe they'd be able to catch the interest of people who really like Ev's style, but can't quite grasp it by listening to all those remixes that have nothing to do with the way the actual songs sound like.
Of course they would have to care about all the other aspects of promotion, like videos and stuff like that. They're not doing that nowadays. It's a bit of a contradiction by the way. They keep releasing radio edits, but they don't try to put out a video in time to make more money. It's weird.
Idk, just my 2 cents, i'm probably wrong. I guess those people promoting albums at W-U know what they're doing, since it's their job after all. I won't pretend i know about these stuff. This is just the feeling i get.

Okay if the video doesn't involve the ocean somehow...not watching it.
Alright I'm kidding. But every time I think of the video I picture night, and a beach.

That's something I think it's the biggest problem of Evanescence all the time. They're not really "metal", but introduced many people to try another hard music. They're not really "electronic" or "pop" but many people know only their slow hit single. Metalheads hates them -- and average listeners can't understand them. It's still the same situation for all those years and it's still difficult, although we also can feel a little "special".

^ That sounds waaaay too good to be true I completely agree with you Rionka! Ev is too soft for the metalheads but the average 'pop' audience are finding them too hard. Ugh.

That's an old interview right? Well, hopefully we see the LIP video after the UK tour. I don't see why they would release it though unless they are touring more next year...or they just want to release it for the fans. Which would be really nice. I don't even care it it's 10 minutes!! I just want a LIP video!!! ;D

^That interview has to be fake. 'Amy spokes about Lost in Paradise' doesn't sound very official to me. I'm totally bummed we only got two videos! What a rip off.

I had such faith in us getting a video awhile back. But no news at all! Screw Wind-Up.

Yeah it didn't seem legit to me either. I mean a 10 minute video would be very costly..and I doubt Wind Up would pay for something that long. meh. I mean if we don't get a video...I'm pretty happy with the lyric video and 'The Words'. But i mean they aren't a music video. I'm just sad that in all the other eras we got 4 videos...and this one will only be 2 which scares me about Evs future. I just hope they sign with a new label! I bet they would be making so much more on a different label...
