🔹 Reviews: New: The Queens of Metal in Paris; Evanescence and Within Temptation captivate the capital [French] www.metalzone.fr/live-reports/180681-reines-metal-paris-evanescence-within-temptation-concert/"Wasted On You begins with a keyboard performance from the frontwoman, which also showcases the playing of bassist Emma Anzai (who joined the band in 2022) also providing backing vocals. It is a rather intimate moment despite the dimensions of Bercy. The whole room plunged into darkness is illuminated by thousands of small lights. And although the melody line seems to be cut out for a romantic comedy, I recognize that it remains in the head. However, the public's hysterical reaction from the opening notes of Call Me When You're Sober shows that the band's early classics have held a very special place in fans' hearts. Amy Lee tells us how much she loves playing in France, and how the energy of the French audience is still very special and dear to her heart. She adds that despite these very turbulent times all over the world, we must enjoy the present moment." [...] "Before starting the next track, Sharon approaches the edge of the stage and passes her microphone to someone at the crash barriers. It is a shy but moving marriage proposal." ❤ Fantastic Evening in Paris with EVANESCENCE and WITHIN TEMPTATION at Accor Arena – Live Review [French, English] rockartfashion.net/2022/12/08/fantastic-evening-in-paris-with-evanescence-and-within-temptation-at-accor-arena-live-review/"Incendiary guitars riffs join to this huge deluge of sounds. An extraordinary start to the show. The emotion is extreme. Goosebumps. Amy Lee, an icon of gothic fashion who has inspired many fans, is dressed in black: bustier top, filmy skirt, laced platforms, she wears armbands with long flowing tie & dye fabrics that give a magnificent grace and fluidity to her movements. With her fists pumping in the air, she arched back as if she wanted to take her vocal momentum and reach the perfection for her high-pitched voice. Breathtaking power and strength. Her voice is phenomenally beautiful. At the end of the song, Amy shouts Parissss and the crowd is delirious. The energy is awesome. [...] Will there be a problem? But the fears are quickly dispelled, because the singer after slipping away in the backstage to come back with new boots, explains that the platform shoes hurt her feet very much. Apparently, you need good shoes to have a perfect voice." Report: Evanescence at the Accor Arena on 11/27/2022 [French] www.unitedrocknations.com/live-report-report-evanescence-laccor-arena-le-27112022-2916"We have just witnessed a great show carried by two queens of metal, a musical moment which reinforces our idea that we need more women on stage. Evanescence made us fall back into our most beautiful memories with strength and emotion. The public is attentive, but it is when the singer goes behind her piano to sing "My Immortal" that the emotion is at its height. Amy Lee is just overwhelming." Within Temptation and Evanescence enchant the Accor Arena [French] www.pozzo-live.com/live-reports/within-temptation-evanescence-accorarena/"The grand piano is installed on stage to allow Amy Lee to share her talents as a pianist, in addition to that of a singer. Spotlights directed towards her make the moment more intimate. It is the famous Bring Me To Life that Evanescence close the concert. Despite twenty years since the release of this flagship title, fans have not forgotten the lyrics and then accompany Amy Lee on vocals. It is under the applause of a filled and conquered room that the group leaves the stage to make way for Within Temptation." WITHIN TEMPTATION + EVANESCENCE @ ACCOR ARENA (27/11/22) [French] www.rockurlife.net/reports/within-temptation-evanescence-accor-arena-27-11-22/"Each song is greeted with overflowing enthusiasm, old and new alike, even if we must admit that the setlist gives pride of place to the latest album, The Bitter Truth , released last year. Amy Lee 's voice is impeccable, haunting and overwhelming at the same time, and is perfectly supported by bassist Emma Anzai , who also does the backing vocals. The scenography is particularly refined: a triangle that broadcasts video images as the songs progress and a few light effects, nothing more. But the presence on stage of Amy Lee and that of the other members is enough to make the show. The five musicians, who complement and harmonize to perfection, deliver a powerful and controlled performance from start to finish."

Evanescence live in Paris 2022
Update! Here's a review and a bunch of beautiful photos from the World's Collide Tour in France 2022 taken by Stephan Birlouez: (notice these super cute boots 💜) Live report: WITHIN TEMPTATION – EVANESCENCE – Paris Accor Arenaamongtheliving.fr/live-report/within-temptation-evanescence-paris-accor-arena/"(...) For Paris, EVANESCENCE opens the ball, with Broken Pieces Shine, a track from their latest opus The Bitter Truth released last year and which will feature prominently on tonight's setlist. A fairly monumental setting is presented to the public, with a luminous pyramid as a screen. It's an Amy Lee in great shape who takes the stage with her group, inevitably vibrating the adolescent fibers buried in most of the spectators. The set is very well rehearsed, Amy playing on all the sensitive strings. From iconic titles to the latest opus, including those performed on the grand piano at the front of the stage, musically everything is there. She will know how to charm her audience by proclaiming loud and clear that France is “special” for her and in particular her audience (we can imagine having the same speech on all dates, right?). The titles follow one another with more or less effectiveness. Amy Lee spares no effort and runs constantly throughout the scene. She is omnipresent, leaving little room for the other musicians, all of whom are very effective. Note the new bassist who also gives voice: far from being anecdotal, she delivers and has perfectly found her place within the group. The service is meticulous. The tracks that everyone is waiting for are cleverly distributed on the setlist, not letting boredom set in. The group's 4 essential pieces will obviously be there. Going Under opens the hostilities, accompanied by a unanimous acclamation from the spectators. Until the finale with the duo My Immortal and Bring Me To Life (taken up in chorus by the entire room), EVANESCENCE is on conquered territory. Amy Lee commands respect. His voice is still as sharp and precise as ever. The girl has plenty of muscle and this can be heard on tracks like Call Me When You're Sober and especially on the superb Use My Voice. With the latter, on the album, we find a host of guests including Taylor Momsen ( The Pretty Reckless ), Lzzy Hale (Halestorm) but also Sharon Den Adel (Within Temptation) with whom she shares the bill this evening and of which we would have liked a duet on stage. After seeing them in symphonic mode at the Grand Rex in Paris in 2018, I was looking forward to discovering them in Rock version on stage this evening and I was not disappointed. Great performance from a group that has managed to maintain its quality over time. (...)
