Ok guys I know we are probably a long way off from getting the next Evanescence album. But that doesn’t mean we can’t chat about what we would like to happen with the next one! I feel like it’s been The Bitter Truth era for the past 3 years with single dripping out from 2020. Obviously they couldn’t tour the album for awhile which stretched thing out. Maybe the band are thinking of doing some new music as it has been a minute.
Anyways. Let’s chat about what you’d like for this next one. Here’s mine :
#1 No more than 2 singles before the album comes out. (Not a big fan when bands release too many tracks before the album drop. Makes the album feel shorter because there’s less to be surprised about)
#2 Different producer. (Bring back Dave Fortman!)
#3 Choir’s (We all love a choir in a Ev song!) #4 More Gothic vibes (More Feeding The Dark & Part Of me type songs :-) )
# 5Intro & Interlude (Loved Artifact/The Turn. We be great to have another intro. )
#6 7+ minute track. (How epic would that be!!)
What about you guys? What would you loved to see happen for the next one?

I’d like to see:
A longer tracklist. I got the Ev3 version with the bonus tracks and that length of album (16 songs?) always felt more “complete” than the others. I know they were technically bonus tracks but I liked the journey.
More of a blending of the “Ev3”-onwards style with the Open Door style. More prominent, creepy, electronic, fairytale-ish sound. And the gorgeous, intricate backing vocals. I don’t mind their straight forward rock stuff, but I’d like more of a balance.
A different producer.
A Bjork cover (maybe a bonus track 😁)

A different producer would really be great. I guess a lot of people want that, right?
Also I agree on a sound more balanced. Feeding the Dark really is a great song, as well as Artifact / The Turn. Those are somehow dark and creepy what I personally enjoy a lot. Yes of course I enjoy the whole Bitter Truth album, but those songs have something different... don't know how to explain it.
Choirs and backing vocals are a must have for me, and I want the harp back since it is my favorite instrument.
For me, there is no need to put a cover on an album to be honest, except for Tourniquet, which is a great song, and Thoughtless.
But what I was missing a bit are the lyrics... I like it, when they are dark, depressed, sad, whatever... can't deal with being positive so much (which is part of my biography and I won't be explaining it). Also I dislike political lyrics - not always, but mostly. I just cannot relate to that stuff (lyrics about pollution or climate change are okay, though, because I am interested in that topic and I think it matters a lot - it's just my opinion). The thing is just... when I want to hear those kind of lyrics / songs, I'd rather listen to other bands.

-More songs in Amy's lower register
-No more angry songs towards record labels
-Maybe the rest of the band can contribute to lyrics. Afaik only Amy does.
-Maybe do a music video where fans can be in it again? Like how they did for What You Want.

A new producer, for sure! TBT just sounded like an improved Ev3 to me.
I'd like to see dreamy lyrics like on Swimming Home or Secret Door. Political songs are fine to me too.
A more experimental sound would be a good thing, but I know Amy would go down that route in a solo project.

1.- Definitely change producer(s) and hire a new team to improve their visual aspect.
2.- I enjoyed FTD vibe but lyrics don't tell me anything? So an expansion on vocabulary would be great IMO
3.- No more belting on all of the songs, we already have all their back catalog with that style
4.- Add some more industrial/electrónica aspects to the songs
It definitely feels like TBT era has been dragged out a bit due to covid, and if they'll be touring for the majority of 2023 I could see them dropping something on late 2024/2025 hopefully sooner though!

Definitely a broader scope of sound is needed. Just a broader album generally, like NIN's The Fragile, would be great. Maybe a huge, concept double album would be cool. Even a double album where one's heavy and one's electronic and more downtempo.
A different producer, or maybe even a couple. Maybe some collaborations with producers would be great (in an ideal world, Trent Reznor or Massive Attack). I really liked some of the things that were coming out about the Broken Record at the time - different session musicians, like Questlove, involved. Or if the band insist on it rocking out, something with a lot more variation, like Ohms by Deftones. It would be cool to hear what Terry Date, who produced a lot of albums for Deftones, might bring out of Evanescence.
And more backing vocals, more harmonies, and more voice-as-instrument stuff. And definitely hearing more peaks and valleys in Amy's vocal range. The belting is great, but I honestly think her vocals in One Day The Only Butterflies Left... are some of the best of her career. So much emotion and fragility.

1. Ditch Nick Raskulinecz, and possibly look into self production or finding someone else. 2. Less lyrics about past labels, managers, and the music industry as a whole. It's hard to relate. 3. Don't drop half the album for its release. 4. More choirs, but stay fresh. 5. Budget for quality, cinematic music videos. 6. Please don't make us wait another ten years. 7. I'm not crazy about intros, outros or interludes. 8. Japanese bonus tracks, iTunes & Target exclusives, deluxe editions, LETS GO! 9. Using material from 2010 on a 2021 album didn't hurt TBT so please give us Perfect Dream. 10. Saw someone else suggest this, but more band collaboration in writing lyrics would be cool. 11. Overall; just a big departure from The Bitter Truth.

I don’t have a problem with anything EV puts out I am literally tunnel vision they can do no wrong 🤦🏾♀️😂😂 but I also agree with everyone I would love to hear more of Amy in her lower register it’s haunting and soothing at the same time some more songs like “The Only One” and “Feeding This Dark” but I’m ok with whatever they put out 🥰🥰🤘🏾🤘🏾

I hope they work more with Will "Science" Hunt and we get more songs like Halfway Down the Stairs, Hi-Lo, Swimming Home, etc. A full band album while working with him would probably be killer.
I am definitely ready for a departure from TBT though. I think I'd like to see something a little less impulsively angry and something a little more creatively thought-out.

Anyone else think a song with P.O.D would be amazing? I loved there performance together on the tour with Korn.
Maybe a feature on the next Evanescence album? It’s been a while since we’ve had one on they’re own album.

It would be cool if we got that sort of airy, synthesiser/drum-beat ocean wave-like vibe(I'm sorry, I can't describe it better) that we got on Ev3, combine that with the choirs and gothic style of TOD and much more piano. I miss the pianos the most, with TBT it's very heavy and harder to translate the songs to piano as it was with previous music. I'd love more songs like Lost In Paradise or Understanding(ha, a big ask, I know) that combine everything at once and are soft but heavy all at the same time. And I know Amy loves her synths, it would be cool to get more little decorations! Like the beeps in Haunted, that sort of style. Maybe I'm just nostalgic for old Ev music but I do feel that TBT, as great as it is of an album, misses the signature magic that the other albums have.

I expect a departure from this Ev3 sound that was improved on TBT and "trying to sound metal." I guess it's Nick's production that ruins it all for me, and I'd rather self-production or a different producer. I get it that Nick pushed Amy to collaborate with the band and make it a band effort during the hard times she went through during the creation of the third album, but I just don't like his production/ approach. I feel he delimits their/Amy's creativity in terms of sound. Dark electronica/ industrial would be a good thing for Ev, but Amy will probably do that in a solo project, if she EVER releases a proper solo album. I hope they include Perfect Dream in a future release, whether as a stand-alone or a solo project. -No more angry songs towards record labels Ev3 is 80% about that.

I'd love it if they blended more of the electronic sounds of the original Ev3 with the darker orchestral style of The Open Door for the next record. I like Nick as a producer but not as a mixer, Ev3 has a great production but Nick wasn't the mixer for it and it sounded great - which is just a small detail on TBT that I didn't enjoy (I like his production on Ev3 better than on TBT too). I'm all up for new producers so if they want to switch that up I'd love to see how they'd work with someone other than Nick or Dave Fortman.
Lyric-wise I'd love it if they went deeper into the route of Use My Voice and did more songs about that kinda thing, politics, anti-homophobia, and that sort of thing. But I'm not really expecting that to happen considering their lyrics have always stayed in the same lane for the past 25 years lol - which is fine.
I love the Evanescence-style sound but the one thing I'm really hoping for the next one is that they'll change up the sound just enough for it to sound different and more interesting to look forward to. Don't get me wrong, I love every single album they've done, but I wish we had something different to make it interesting, kind of like what Synthesis was - but with completely new songs instead of old ones. So, basically, if Synthesis had just a bit of more band in it and it was made of completely new songs! That'd be great.
If we're talking about old songs that I'd love as reference for future stuff, then: > Haunted > Lacrymosa > Snow White Queen > Like You > Together Again > Oceans > Swimming Home > Hi-Lo > Imperfection > Use My Voice

Overall; just a big departure from The Bitter Truth. I must agree on all counts here, save one. I really don't like when tracks are scattered between territories, and prefer one consistent release - unless it's the only way to release everything, in which case, go for it. But with Amy free of Wind-Up, she really doesn't require that approach anymore. So I say, let us all have everything, no exclusives aside from a Deluxe Edition, if she wishes. But please, seriously, drop Nick. I suggest Steve Lillywhite. Above all else, release Perfect Dream. I'd adore an album in the realm of Together Again, Secret Door, Hi-Lo, and whatever 1:38 AM demo happened to be. Moore piano and strings overall. Something atmospheric. Stop allowing guitars to drown Amy out. Experiment with Electronica. Release the "Perfect rainy Sunday 05/06/11" version of Disappear Release whatever "Another piece of the puzzle" was Release whatever "Nice Day" was, that she was playing in the video depicting a fire place Honestly, I'd love an album with more piano and strings ballads. Sick of the Metal and Rock. Something in the territory of Swimming Home. Release the Lillywhite material ASAP I expect a departure from this Ev3 sound that was improved on TBT and "trying to sound metal." I guess it's Nick's production that ruins it all for me, and I'd rather self-production or a different producer. I hope they include Perfect Dream in a future release, whether as a stand-alone or a solo project. -No more angry songs towards record labels Ev3 is 80% about that. Honestly, Nick ruined Amy and Evanescence and is the worst thing to happen to music since laryngitis. There's nothing redeeming about his production efforts, if we're calling them that, or his focus on the band over Amy Lee, who is the heart and soul of Evanescence. Amy and Terry writing songs together is all we needed. Nick's emphasis on "the band" is the reason we haven't properly heard Amy's voice since The Open Door, save Hi-Lo and Secret Door. Nick is a bad habit, drop him like one. I want an elegant, haunting album cover depicting AMY LEE and not some generic abstract art or crass image like TBT. And I desire the album in a JEWEL CASE please. Thses DigiPaks have just gots ta go sis
